Sinopsis:

Trama
Esta novela gráfica narra cuatro historias donde la tenacidad y dedicación de héroes anónimos se enfocaron en mostrar al pueblo de EE.UU las atrocidades de los Nazis en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Las cuatro historias están basadas en hechos reales, impactan y abruman por la crueldad de lo que ocurrió. Todas ocurren entre los años 1934-1945.
1.- The Book Hitler Didn’t Want You to Read, narrado desde el punto de vista del creador de los cómics de The Phantom y Mandrake, Lee Falk, quien compartió con el periodista de investigación Alan Cranston, quien descubrió que el infame libro Mi Lucha de Hitler fue editado en EE.UU donde eliminaron toda su retórica de genciidio a los Judios. Alan hizo una edición con el contenido eliminado en formato de peridico de 32 páginas, barato y fácil de leer, esto le causó hasta una demanda del propio Adolf Hitler.
2.- Voyage of the Doomed, narra la vida de uno de lo más de 900 tripulantes del barco St Louis, llamado Arthur Weil, quien en 1938 escaparon de Alemania con la esperanza de ser recibidos en la Habana, Cuba. Pero todo formó parte de una estafa de un funcionario del gobierno quien cobraba aproximadamente 2.800$ (valor actual), Weil y su familia vendieron todo para poder pagar este alto monto para este supuesto proceso migratorio. La realidad es que luego de muchos dias sin ser recibidos por nadie, incluido el gobierno Americano, terminaron en Europa, en Holanda, Belgica, Francia, muchos mueren despues de la invasion Nazi a esos pasies, solos los que llegaron a Ingleterra se salvaron. Esta historia destaca el esfuerzo de EE.UU de no participar en la guerra. Cierra con el esfuerzo de Alan la década de 1980 de poder salvar a una comunidad Judía en Etiopía.
3.- Blowing the Whistle on Genocide: este historia es sobre Josiah E. Dubois, quien se dedicó a descubrir por qué el gobierno de EE.UU se hacía la vista gorda para darle asilo a los Jusios refugiados. Descubriendo muchas conspiraciones burocráticas y económicas.
4.-Karski’s Mission: To Stop the Holocaust: Jan Karski es un joven Polaco que vivio la invasion Nazi y Rusa a Polonia, que luego de convertirse en diplomático se tuvo que alistar en el ejercito Polaco. En ese momento los Polacos eran visto por los Nazis como inferiores, los Polacos Judios estaban en la mira genocida de los Nazis y eran una amenaza capitalista para los Rusos, los Polacos Catolicos eran una amenaza para la cultura Rusa, es decir los Polacos no valían nada para ambas potencias.
Cada historia es narrada en un ritmo perfecto, que da la sensación de ver un documental.

Es orgánico y muy detallado, con toques inocentes y noir pero que se basan en los cómics de la época de oro, tiene una visión retro perfecta para poder dar más contexto a las historia de esa era.

This graphic novel tells four stories where the tenacity and dedication of anonymous heroes focused on showing the people of the United States the atrocities of the Nazis in World War II. The four stories are based on real events, shocking and overwhelming due to the cruelty of what happened. They all occur between the years 1934-1945.
1.- The Book Hitler Didn't Want You to Read, told from the point of view of the creator of The Phantom and Mandrake comics, Lee Falk, who shared with investigative journalist Alan Cranston, who discovered that the infamous book Hitler's My Struggle was published in the US where they eliminated all of his rhetoric of gencide against the Jews. Alan made an edition with the content removed in a 32-page newspaper format, cheap and easy to read, this even caused him to be sued by Adolf Hitler himself.
2.- Voyage of the Doomed, narrates the life of one of the more than 900 crew members of the ship St Louis, named Arthur Weil, who in 1938 escaped from Germany with the hope of being received in Havana, Cuba. But it was all part of a scam by a government official who charged approximately $2,800 (current value). Weil and his family sold everything to be able to pay this high amount for this supposed immigration process. The reality is that after many days without being received by anyone, including the American government, they ended up in Europe, in Holland, Belgium, France, many died after the Nazi invasion of those countries, only those who arrived in England were saved. This story highlights the US effort to not participate in the war. It closes with Alan's effort in the 1980s to save a Jewish community in Ethiopia.
3.- Blowing the Whistle on Genocide: this story is about Josiah E. Dubois, who dedicated himself to discovering why the US government turned a blind eye to giving asylum to Jewish refugees. He uncovers many bureaucratic and economic conspiracies.
4.-Karski's Mission: To Stop the Holocaust: Jan Karski is a young Polish man who lived through the Nazi and Russian invasion of Poland, who after becoming a diplomat had to enlist in the Polish army. At that time the Poles were seen by the Nazis as inferior, the Polish Jews were in the genocidal crosshairs of the Nazis and were a capitalist threat to the Russians, the Catholic Poles were a threat to Russian culture, that is, the Poles were of no value. nothing for both powers.
Each story is told in a perfect rhythm, which gives the feeling of watching a documentary.
