New York, NY— August 28, 2025 — Starting in October, AGE OF REVELATION radically transforms the Marvel Universe, taking it 10 years into a future where a new mutant utopia created by Apocalypse’s heir, Doug Ramsey A.K.A. Revelation, threatens to overtake all of Earth! This new age of storytelling officially begins in AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE #1, a one-shot by X-Men creative team, writer Jed MacKay and artist Ryan Stegman. AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE #1 will serve as the foundation for an entire landscape of exciting new AGE OF REVELATION titles, including a bold evolution of the entire current X-Men line. Today, fans can check out all the covers for the highly anticipated issue, on sale October 1.
Stegman provides the main cover while variant covers come from superstar artists like Aaron Kuder and Cory Smith. The one-shot also features a piece by Rickie Yagawa, the first in a series of Character Variant Covers that will adorn all of Age of Revelation’s debut issues. And best-selling cover artist Stanley “Artgerm” Lau delivers a stunning depiction of this new future’s Psylocke, a piece that will also be available as a virgin variant cover.

On the creative opportunities found in alternate futures, Jed told AIPT in this week’s edition of X-Men Monday, “I think what I like most about it is the ‘secret history’ of it all. We catch up with characters who have been changed by 10 years of chaos, and it’s always fun for me to see them as they are now and wonder how they got there. We’ll see a lot of relationships between characters having changed from what we’ve known, and though some blanks will be filled in, others will be left for the readers to speculate upon (and how that could foreshadow the future).”
