Artists, Writers & Artisans es la nueva editorial de cómics impulsada por Axel Alonso (Ex Editor en Jefe de Marvel Comics) y Bill Jemas (Ex Vice Presidente de Marvel Comics), quienes fungen como CCO y Editor respectivamente, con equipos creativos legendarios con el objetivo de hacer los mejores cómics posible sin limitaciones creativas donde los derechos intelectuales son de sus creadores.
¿De qué viene?
April Walters es una víctima de la vida: una madre abnegada a su hogar y familia, cuyo fuego interno ha sido apagado por su triste existencia. Cuando su hija desaparece en circunstancias misteriosas, April se embarca en un viaje a la parte oscura de su comunidad, topándose con un inmenso sindicato criminal y su letal matriarca. April pondrá a pruebas sus límites para descubrir que el infierno no se compara a la furia de una madre despreciada.
En Bad Mother #1, April investiga la desaparición de su hija mientras se adentra en una red criminal que funciona en clandestinidad en su comunidad, ella debe salir de su triste zona de confort para salvar a su hija.
¿Qué sucede?
April consigue el teléfono de Taylor y logra desbloquearlo y empieza a unir los cabos, Chase es un drug dealer que también es una especie de proxeneta que tiene una deuda grande con Hunter y Caleb que son empleados de la malvada matriarca dueña de toda esta red criminal.
Todo el cómic se dedica a explicar cómo April se esmera en armar el rompecabezas con los mensajes, redes sociales, fotos y videos de Taylor, hay unas imágenes diagramadas dónde se van uniendo todos los puntos, recuerda mucho a filmes como Searching pero mil veces mejor.
La desesperación de April por el paradero de su hija está activando partes de su cerebro y habilidades que ella desconocía que tenía.
Arte y trama.
Mike Deodato crea un arte impresionante y fresco, está en total control de sus habilidades, este comic alcanza un nuevo nivel de calidad y creatividad. Por otro lado la trama es adictiva, en especial por los giros, incluyendo la revelación en la última página, April descubre algo muy grande.
Resumen
April descubre qué es lo que está ocurriendo, sabe que debe resolver esto ella sola porque en nadie puede confiar y nadie la va a ayudar.

What's it coming from?
April Walters is a hit-and-run victim of life – a soccer mom whose inner fire has been snuffed out by her dreary suburban existence. When her teenage daughter goes missing under mysterious circumstances, April embarks on a harrowing journey through the underbelly of her suburban community that sets her on a collision course with a massive crime syndicate and its lethal matriarch. Tested to her limits and beyond, April discovers that hell hath no fury like a mother scorned.
In Bad Mother # 1, April investigates her daughter's disappearance as she delves into a criminal network that runs underground in her community, she must break out of her sad comfort zone to save her daughter.
April gets Taylor's phone and manages to unlock it and begins to search for clues, Chase is a drug dealer who is also a kind of pimp who has a big debt with Hunter and Caleb who are employees of the evil matriarch who owns all this criminal network .
The entire comic is dedicated to explaining how April strives to put the puzzle together with Taylor's messages, social networks, photos and videos, there are diagrammed images where all the points are joined, it is very reminiscent of films like Searching.
April's desperation for her daughter's whereabouts is activating parts of her brain and abilities that she was unaware of.
Art and Plot
Mike Deodato creates impressive and fresh art, he is in total control of his abilities, this comic reaches a new level of quality and creativity. On the other hand, the plot is addictive, especially because of the twists and turns, including the revelation on the last page, April discovers something huge.
Summary
April discovers what is happening, she knows that she must solve this by herself because nobody can be trusted and nobody will help or believe in her.
