RESEÑA EN ESPAÑOL/INGLÉS DE "BAD MOTHER #1"

Artists, Writers & Artisans es la nueva editorial de cómics impulsada por Axel Alonso (Ex Editor en Jefe de Marvel Comics) y Bill Jemas (Ex Vice Presidente de Marvel Comics), quienes fungen como CCO y Editor respectivamente, con equipos creativos legendarios con el objetivo de hacer los mejores cómics posible sin limitaciones creativas donde los derechos intelectuales son de sus creadores. 

¿De qué viene?

April Walters es una víctima de la vida: una madre abnegada a su hogar y familia, cuyo fuego interno ha sido apagado por su triste existencia. Cuando su hija desaparece en circunstancias misteriosas, April se embarca en un viaje a la parte oscura de su comunidad,  topándose con un inmenso sindicato criminal y su letal matriarca. April pondrá a pruebas sus límites para descubrir que el infierno no se compara a la furia de una madre despreciada.

¿Qué sucede?

El cómic comienza con una gran dosis de realidad al mostrar la rutina de April, una madre dedicada al hogar que intenta alcanzar los altos estándares de la sociedad, que le agobian su existencia al no incluir ni su talla de vestir. A esa edad recibe el bullying de Valerie es una glutten-free entusiasta.

April está casada con dos hijos, Justin (de aproximadamente 12 años) y Taylor (aproximadamente 16 años), el patriarca de la familia es Steve que está constantemente en viaje de negocios y ausente, en especial cuando su esposa vive una situación de rehenes peligrosa que es solucionada de manera violenta por el detective Elkland.

Todo se complica cuando Taylor llega en la noche con un ojo morado y April decide visitar al novio llamado Chase. Al llegar a su casa se encuentra con una escena de un crimen, Chase y su amigo fueron asesinados. 

April regresa a su casa para descubrir que Taylor no está, entra en crisis y llama al detective Elkland quien la lleva a la escena del crimen pero todo está limpio. De nuevo April  es menospreciada y ahora deben esperar 48 horas antes de declararla desaparecida a Taylor.

Arte y trama.

La creatividad de Faust soportada por el impactante arte de Deodato crean una atmósfera muy real, con un personaje con el que podemos identificarnos que fácilmente puede ser nuestra vecina, madre, hermana, esposa o nosotros mismos.

Resumen

April deberá tomar las riendas de una investigación carente de experiencia como detective aparte de lidiar con su autoestima socavada por su soledad.

What's it coming from? 

April Walters is a hit-and-run victim of life – a soccer mom whose inner fire has been snuffed out by her dreary suburban existence. When her teenaged daughter goes missing under mysterious circumstances, April embarks on a harrowing journey through the underbelly of her suburban community that sets her on a collision course with a massive crime syndicate and its lethal matriarch. Tested to her limits and beyond, April discovers that hell hath no fury like a mother scorned.

What's going on?

The comic begins with a great dose of reality by showing the routine of April, a mother dedicated to the home who tries to achieve the high standards of society, who overwhelm her existence by not including for example her dress size. At that age she is bullied by Valerie, an enthusiastic glutten-free.

April is married with two children, Justin (about 12 years old) and Taylor (about 16 years old), the family patriarch is Steve who is constantly away on business and absent, especially when his wife is in a dangerous hostage situation. which is violently solved by Detective Elkland.

Everything gets complicated when Taylor arrives at night with a black eye and April decides to visit her boyfriend named Chase. Upon arriving at her home she encounters a crime scene, Chase and his friend were killed.

April returns to her house to discover that Taylor is not there, goes into crisis and calls Detective Elkland who takes her to the crime scene but everything is clean. Again April is belittled and now they must wait 48 hours before declaring Taylor missing.

Art and plot.

Faust's creativity supported by the impressive art of Deodato creates a very real atmosphere, with a character with whom we can identify that can easily be our neighbor, mother, sister, wife or ourselves.

Summary

April will have to take charge an investigate where is her daughter without any experience in crimes aside from dealing with her undermined self-esteem fueled by her loneliness. This is one of the best comics you will be able to read this year
