¿De qué viene?

¿Y SI… THOR OBTUVIERA EL TRAJE SIMBIONTE DE SPIDER-MAN? En medio del caos, aparece un disfraz, ¡pero no del héroe que conoces! Cuenta la leyenda que la unión con el traje simbionte hizo a Thor aún más poderoso. Pero, ¿qué sombras que acechan en los Diez Reinos podrían interesarse en semejante combinación?

Trama

Thor pierde su capa en la batalla de Battleworld en Secret Wars y con Hulk usan la misma maquina que uso Spider-man para crear el traje negro, Thor se une al symbiote sin saberlo.

Este diseño del traje de Thor simbiote es espectacular.

Thor siente un poder aun mas grande que antes y con su nueva armadura negra se enfrenta  a los gigantes de hielo Jotun en Midgard. Loki y Sif asisten a Thor, pero Loki sabe que hay algo raro en su hermano, en especial porque Thor tiene menos compasión.

En la cabeza de Thor hay una voz que lo invita a hacer cosas.

En la batalla Thor se da cuenta que hay algo escondido en una cueva, es Knull con tres dragones simbiote lo atrapan y torturan con fuego para que liberen al simbionte, Thor usa el sonido del trueno del Mjolnir para librarse del simbiote y llevar a Knull al vacío entre dimensiones.

Thor celebra su victoria y libertad de ser un huésped de un simbiote, pero Loki es ahora el nuevo huésped.

Excelente reimaginación de lo que habría sucedido con Thor fusionado don Venom, excelente ritmo narrativo de Torunn.

Arte

Es detallado y mantiene todas esas poses heroicas donde las expresiones faciales definen cada escena.

What does it come from?

WHAT IF…THOR GOT SPIDER-MAN'S SYMBIOTE SUIT? Amid the chaos, there comes a costume - but not to the hero you know! Legend has it that bonding with the symbiote suit made Thor mightier still. But what shadows lurking in the Ten Realms would take interest in such a powerful pairing?

Plot

Thor loses his cape in the Battleworld during Secret Wars, and he and Hulk use the same machine Spider-Man used to create the black suit. Unbeknownst to Thor, he bonds with the symbiote.

This design of Thor's symbiote suit is spectacular.

Thor feels an even greater power than before, and in his new black armor, he faces the Jotun ice giants on Midgard. Loki and Sif assist Thor, but Loki senses something is amiss with his brother, especially since Thor seems less compassionate.

A voice in Thor's head urges him to act.

During the battle, Thor discovers something hidden in a cave: Knull. He and three symbiote dragons capture Thor and torture him with fire to force him to release the symbiote. Thor uses the thunderous roar of Mjolnir to free himself from the symbiote and drag Knull into the void between dimensions.

Thor celebrates his victory and freedom from being a symbiote host, but Loki is now the new host.

Excellent reimagining of what would have happened with Thor fused with Venom, excellent narrative pacing by Torunn.

Art

It's detailed and maintains all those heroic poses where facial expressions define each scene.

Summary

Thor is the new host of a symbiote, but the king arrives to subdue the Prince of Asgard

Sinopsis: 

¡Ashley Arden irrumpe en el mundo de GEIGER!

Trama

Este volumen cierra con el arco argumental de Ash Arden e incluye el arco de The Northerner.

El Doctor Andrei Molotov explica cómo intentó que Ashley Arden fuese diferente a Tariq Geiger, pero todo cambió con ella cuando le reveló que el fue el que creó las bombas atómicas que causaron este holocausto nuclear. Molotov creó a Geiger y Ashley dos veces, primero con la bomba y luego con el chaleco y barras de boro necesarias para controlar sus poderes.

Geiger es atrapado por los hombres de  WREN, el exreo y director autoproclamado de la cárcel Cold Water. En este lugar empieza a interrogar a Geiger sobre un hombre llamado Goldbeard, que escondió un tesoro en esa prisión y desapareció con el secreto.

Geiger escapa de la cárcel y sus poderes están descontrolados, al parecer la posibilidad de que algun dia explote y cause otro apocalipsis es la principal razón por la cual el  presidente Griffin lo quiere.

Geiger cae en sus rodillas agotado cuando recibe en sus manos su barras de boro que controlan sus poderes del hocico de su gran compañero el perro de dos cabezas Barney.

Este volumen incluye una aventura en solitario de Ash Arden que se conecta a Redcoat con el universo de Geiger. 

The Northerner aparece y le explica a Geiger que viene de un futuro alterno donde la Guerra Civil de Secesión de EE.UU la ganó el Sur, por lo que su nación se erigió de otra manera, hasta que una persona le muestra un discurso de Martin Luther King que proviene de nuestra realidad donde ganó el Norte, donde  si existió este gran estadista.

The Northerner viaja en el tiempo constantemente y debe descubrir lo que debe hacer en la era en que es enviado, como cuando logró detener el cambio generado en el pasado con la ayuda de Redcoat e hizo que el Norte ganara (Leer REDCOAT TP VOL 2). Pero ahora está en el futuro y no entiende que debe hacer y si ese cambio que hizo en el pasado igual no detuvo la catastrófica UNKNOWN WAR, donde no se sabe aun quien lanzó este ataque nuclear.

Pero The Northerner recibe constantemente ayuda, recibe armas de otra época que le permite defenderse. Aunque Geiger no le cree mucho aún, lo va a yudar a llegar hasta Detroit donde esta un centro de información que The Northerner necesita para saber lo que tiene que hacer en esta época. Pero son interceptados por unos piratas de carretera que son aplastados por un tanque enviado a The Northerner como ayuda.

Este volumen empieza a tener revelaciones clave para entender esta guerra desconocida y cómo se relacionan con Redcoat, Geiger y Junkyard Joe, una mezcla alucinante entre Terminator con Mad Max!

Ghost Machine Productions is releasing GEIGER in a new volume from writer Geoff Johns, artist Gary Frank, and colorist Brad Anderson. This monthly comic book series is part of the first wave of Ghost Machine Productions comics. The series follows the adventures of Tariq Geiger, the mysterious Shining Man first introduced in Johns and Frank’s hit series GEIGER Vol 1, which launched in 2021 and was published by Image Comics. GEIGER is also in development for television at Paramount TV with Justin Simien attached to direct.

Synopsis

Ashley Arden explodes into the world of GEIGER!

THE GLOWING WOMAN has all of Geiger’s powers but says she can help the Nuclear Nomad begin to control the raw radioactive power inside him. But ASHLEY’s motivations aren’t as altruistic as she claims, and the truth will drive her and Geiger into a fight that changes Geiger’s perspective forever. Things don’t get any easier for Geiger as he then finds himself in a prison literally run by the inmates. And just as Geiger emerges from captivity, The Northerner appears. The time-traveling soldier erupts from the past where he’d just met Redcoat and now searches for answers as to why the world is a wasteland and what caused The Unknown War. Can Geiger help The Northerner get the answers?

Plot 

This volume concludes the Ash Arden story arc and includes The Northerner arc.

Dr. Andrei Molotov explains how he tried to make Ashley Arden different from Tariq Geiger, but everything changed when he revealed that he was the one who created the atomic bombs that caused this nuclear holocaust. Molotov created Geiger and Ashley twice: first with the bomb, and then with the vest and boron rods necessary to control their powers.

Geiger is captured by WREN's men, the ex-convict and self-proclaimed warden of Cold Water Prison. There, he begins interrogating Geiger about a man named Goldbeard, who hid a treasure in the prison and disappeared with the secret.

Geiger escapes from prison, and his powers are out of control. Apparently, the possibility that he might one day explode and cause another apocalypse is the main reason why President Griffin wants him.

Geiger collapses to his knees, exhausted, as he receives the boron rods that control his powers from the snout of his large, two-headed dog companion, Barney.

This volume includes a solo adventure of Ash Arden that connects Redcoat to Geiger's universe.

The Northerner appears and explains to Geiger that he comes from an alternate future where the South won the American Civil War, resulting in a different nation. Then, someone shows him a speech by Martin Luther King Jr. from our reality, where the North won, and where this great statesman actually existed.

The Northerner travels through time constantly and must discover what to do in the era he is sent to, such as when he managed to stop the changes in the past with Redcoat's help, ensuring the North's victory (Read REDCOAT TP VOL 2). But now he's in the future and doesn't understand what he should do, or if the change he made in the past didn't stop the catastrophic UNKNOWN WAR, where the origin of the nuclear attack remains a mystery.

But The Northerner is constantly receiving help, weapons from another era that allow him to defend himself. Although Geiger doesn't quite believe him yet, he helps him reach Detroit, where there's an information center The Northerner needs to know what to do in this time. But they're intercepted by highway robbers who are crushed by a tank sent to The Northerner as assistance.

This volume begins to reveal key elements for understanding this unknown war and how it relates to Redcoat, Geiger, and Junkyard Joe—a mind-blowing mix of Terminator and Mad Max!
