La traducción en español es magnífica y bien redactada, donde aprovechan el origen latino del personaje de Gabrielle.

Arte

Es un arte ingenuo pero con toques de caricatura que elevan la atmósfera romántica e inocua de esta historia.

Plot

This is a beautiful romance between two young girls, Gabrielle and Neesha, with distinct personalities and very different realities. Gabrielle is extroverted and a surfer, while Neesha is introverted and has a physical disability. They both discover they love the same manga, "Super Navigator Nozomi."

Both are new to the school and meet on the first day. Each harbors a personal secret that surfaces between them, and their insecurities disappear as they support each other.

The story shows how they both try to collect all the volumes of this series and reread it together, so the manga itself has a story they both identify with.

The initial sequence of how they meet is very romantic, as is their first kiss. This adventure of collecting the manga also becomes a process of self-discovery and acceptance.

The Spanish translation is superb and well-written, making good use of Gabrielle's Latin American origins.

Art

It's a simple yet charming style with touches of cartoonishness that enhance the innocent and romantic atmosphere of this story.

Summary

A tender and beautiful LGBTQ+ coming-of-age romance from beginning to end.

Trama

Este cómic continua justamente donde termina la película de culto de ciencia ficción de la década de 1980, donde Alex Rogan fue seleccionado como piloto de la Star League luego de lograr la máxima puntuación en un juego de video arcade creado por el genio misterioso Century, esta prueba se llama Excalibur Test. 

Alex se convierte en el último y único piloto espacial que forma parte de un ejército policial espacial que luchó contra Xur y su Armada de Ko-Dan en una batalla sin precedentes donde solo sobrevivió Alex y su copiloto extraterrestre Grig.

El paradero del terrible Xur es desconocido, pero el Planeta Rylos, donde reside la Starfight Legión necesita reconstruir su flota espacial y reclutar nuevos pilotos, por lo que designan a Alex como el responsable de lograr esto, pero no es un plan sencillo.

Alex hace que su novia Maggie y el científico Century se encargan de localizar en la galaxia a los nuevos pilotos que superen la prueba Excalibur Test, pero ha alguien más tratando de que esto no se lleve a cabo, conoceremos nuevos pilotos con personalidades muy diferentes y motivos personales interesantes.

Plot 

This comic picks up right where the cult science fiction film of the 1980s left off, with Alex Rogan selected as a Star League pilot after achieving the highest score on an arcade video game created by the mysterious genius Century. This test is called the Excalibur Test.

Alex becomes the last and only space pilot to join a space police force that fought against Xur and his Ko-Dan Armada in an unprecedented battle where only Alex and his alien co-pilot, Grig, survived.

The whereabouts of the fearsome Xur are unknown, but the planet Rylos, home to the Starfight Legion, needs to rebuild its space fleet and recruit new pilots. Alex is tasked with this, but it's not a simple mission.

Alex has his girlfriend, Maggie, and the scientist Century search the galaxy for new pilots who can pass the Excalibur Test, but someone else is trying to stop them. We'll meet new pilots with very different personalities and interesting personal motivations.

Adventure, science fiction, romance, drama, and mystery are blended in this story of personal growth with a retro-vintage 80s feel, yet updated.

This comic is the perfect starting point for new readers, as it explains everything simply and directly, and is also a treat for those who became fans with the original film.
