El legendario creador de Hellboy, Mike Mignola, revisita uno de los capítulos más icónicos de la historia de Hellboy con un nuevo evento de dos números: Hellboy in Hell: Nothing But Blood. 

Mignola se une al aclamado artista internacional Cyrille Pomès (Moon, 6,000 Miles to Freedom) en su debut en el Universo Hellboy para narrar una rebelión demoníaca en el inframundo. Escrito por Mignola, dibujado y rotulado por Pomès, y coloreado por Dave Stewart, ambos números contarán con portadas principales de Pomès y portadas alternativas dibujadas por Mike Mignola en el primer número y por Marc Riou en el segundo.

Sinopsis

Sobre lo que le entusiasmó de trabajar en Marvel Zombies, Waltz le comentó a Fangoria: "Tras haberme iniciado como guionista en la industria del cómic con mi historia de terror militar de creación propia, 'Children of the Grave', y luego haber dedicado mucho tiempo a escribir sobre ninjas mutantes —además de ser un fan incondicional de los superhéroes—, que me ofrecieran la oportunidad de escribir una serie de Marvel Zombies fue una emocionante ocasión para combinar las tres facetas de mi carrera. New York, NY— June 11, 2026 — This September, Marvel Zombies returns to life in MARVEL ZOMBIES: WAR ZONE, and this time, it won’t be Earth’s Mightiest Heroes who save the day—it’ll be Earth’s toughest! Announced earlier today at Fangoria, the five-issue limited series will be written by Tom Waltz, known for his gruesome work on Wolverine: Blood Hunt and Knull, and drawn by Jaime Infante, in his fearsome Marvel Comics debut.

 

The latest Marvel Zombies nightmare begins after the Avengers and the Fantastic Four fail to stop a zombie plague from devastating New York City. Now sealed off as a deadly quarantine zone, humanity’s last hope rests with PUNISHER and a team of street-level heroes including LUKE CAGE, ELEKTRA, IRON FIST and MOON KNIGHT. Together, this ragtag group of deadly heroes will have to uncover the origin of the outbreak and break down the barrier before the infection consumes everything.

A zombie outbreak has hit Manhattan and the whole city is rapidly overrun! On what excited him about taking on Marvel Zombies, Waltz told Fangoria, "Having cut my teeth as a writer in the comics industry with my creator-owned military-horror story Children of the Grave, then transitioning into a long stint writing mutated ninjas—as well as being an unabashed fan of super heroes—getting offered the chance to write a Marvel Zombies series was an exciting opportunity to combine all three facets of my career. My first instinct was to take the popular Marvel zombie trope to the streets—and what better lens to witness it through than that of an old Marine like me: Frank Castle, the Punisher.”

It's an interesting analysis of the pros and cons of his decision and their initial reactions to the news. It's a comic with a lot of dialogue.

It's very detailed, blending two graphic styles from the events of Civil War and Days of Future Past.

Summary

Peter analyzes one of the most dangerous decisions of his life.

¿De qué viene?

En el planeta SOVRYN, infestado de xenomorfos, la humanidad ya ha sucumbido. Idris, un humano modificado genéticamente, es uno de los pocos supervivientes, pero ahora es prisionero de su hermano, el Rey Verde. Incluso si Idris logra escapar, deberá enfrentarse a lo que le espera más allá de los muros protectores del complejo del Rey Verde…

Trama

Idris está encarcelado por su hermano el Green King, quien lo libera y le muestra cómo funciona su reino, donde aparentemente no hay miseria. Este cómic revela que el Red King le envió asesino y Xenomorfos a matar a Idris mientras este estaba exiliado

Idris está convencido de que su existencia y la de los xenomorfos modificados es un mundo podrido que creó el misterios Good Doctor, a quien el Green King lo llama padre.

Pero esta supuesta utopía es un disfraz para una tiranía de Green King, quien no le importa la vida humana.

Cuando Idris iba a enfrentar a Green King, llego del cielo White King, que es la otra hermana Aisha.

Interesante premisa donde los Xenomorfos son los ganadores pero los verdaderos monstruos son los humanos y su evolución social, sin embargo la historia se desvió hacia otro nuevo subuniverso de personajes y olvido casi por completo a los Aliens, que deberían ser el centro de la trama.

Arte

Es detallado cuya anatomía recuerda a las series animadas en la década de 1990.

What does it come from?

On the Xenomorph-infested planet SOVRYN, humanity has already fallen. The augmented human Idris is among the few survivors, but he is now a prisoner of his brother, the Green King. But even if Idris can escape, he must then confront what awaits just beyond the protective walls of the Green King's compound...

Plot

Idris is imprisoned by his brother, the Green King, who frees him and shows him how his kingdom works, a realm seemingly free of misery. This comic reveals that the Red King sent assassins and Xenomorphs to kill Idris while he was in exile.

Idris is convinced that his existence and that of the modified Xenomorphs is a rotten world created by the mysterious Good Doctor, whom the Green King calls Father.

But this supposed utopia is a disguise for the Green King's tyranny, who has no regard for human life.

Just as Idris is about to confront the Green King, White King, who is his other sister Aisha, arrives from the sky.

An interesting premise where the Xenomorphs are the victors, but the true monsters are humans and their social evolution. However, the story veers off into another new sub-universe of characters and almost completely forgets the Aliens, who should be the focus of the plot.

Art

It's detailed, with anatomy reminiscent of animated series from the 1990s.

Summary

Idris faces the Green King while a new person from his past reappears.
