¿De qué viene?
Durante dos generaciones, la ciudad rural de Grendel, Kentucky, ha honrado su trato con el monstruo que vive en su mina de carbón abandonada: un sacrificio humano cada temporada a cambio de la prosperidad agraria, como nunca antes había visto esta región rocosa (incluyendo su mayor cultivo comercial: la hierba más húmeda de la tierra). Cuando un anciano de la ciudad rompe este pacto, la única esperanza de Grendel es que su hija pródiga regrese a casa para enfrentarse a la criatura de sus pesadillas y venga acompañada de su pandilla de motociclistas mujeres.
¿Qué sucede?
La historia ocurre en 1971, en el pueblo de Grendel, Kentucky en EE.UU, donde muestran a Clyde entrando en una cueva armado hasta los dientes.
Tres días después, muestran a Denny, el hijo de Clyde recibiendo la noticia de que su padre falleció. Denny maneja un próspero negocio de sembradíos y distribución de mariguana.
Denny localiza a su hermana Marnei para darle la mala noticia, ella lidera un grupo de mujeres motociclistas, es muy ruda y violenta, temida en todo Grendel.
El cómic poco a poco empieza a explicar lo que sucedió en esa cueva, una presencia sobrenatural.
Arte y trama.
Tommy Lee Edwards le otorga la textura de un ambiente de campo envuelto en una atmósfera lúgubre de misterio y suspenso que permite a Jeff McComsey refresca los mitos de fantasía y terror al mezclarlos con la cultura y superstición de un pueblo rural en EE.UU.

What's it coming from?
For two generations, the rural hill town of Grendel, Kentucky has honored its Faustian bargain with the monster living in its abandoned coal mine: a human sacrifice every season in return for agrarian prosperity the likes of which this rocky region had never before seen (including its greatest cash crop: the dankest weed in the land). When one town elder breaks this pact, Grendel’s only hope is that its prodigal daughter will return home to face down the creature of her nightmares—and bring her all-female biker gang with her.
The story takes place in 1971, in the town of Grendel, Kentucky in the USA, where Clyde is shown entering a cave heavily armed.
Three days later, Denny, Clyde's son, is receives the news that his father passed away. Denny runs a very profitable marijuana crop and distribution business.
Denny locates her sister Marnei to give her the bad news, she leads a group of women motorcyclists, she is very rude and violent, feared throughout Grendel.
The comic gradually begins to explain what happened in that cave linked to a supernatural presence.
Art and plot.
Tommy Lee Edwards gives it the texture of a country setting shrouded in a gloomy atmosphere of mystery and suspense that allows Jeff McComsey to refresh the myths of fantasy and terror by mixing them with the culture and superstition of a rural American town.
