Luego del éxito de YEAR ZERO VOLUME 1 y YEAR ZERO VOLUME 2 AWA y Upshot  lanzan una precuela de su saga de zombies, regresa con la genial fórmula donde muestra cómo diferentes e interesantes personajes sobreviven al apocalipsis de no muertos, el detalle es que serán nuevos sobrevivientes así como otras localidades del planeta.

¿De qué viene?

En este preludio lleno de acción de la exitosa serie, el aclamado escritor de terror Daniel Kraus (The Living Dead, The Autumnal de George Romero) revela cuatro historias que abarcan todo el mundo desde los primeros días del apocalipsis zombi cuando incluso los rumores más salvajes no podían estar a la altura al horror por venir. Un policía ruso astuto patrulla los callejones del mercado negro oportunista que surge en respuesta a la crisis... un soldado norcoreano observa sucesos extraños en la DMZ... Una enfermera de urgencias en el sur rural lucha para proteger su hospital de las amenazas por fuera y por dentro... Una azafata transgénero que ha observado pistas inquietantes mientras cruza el globo terráqueo vigila con cautela al pasajero del asiento 23C.

 

TRAMA

El cómic narra por separado estas cuatro historias de personajes muy diferentes que deben enfrentarse a algo inimaginable.

Jae-Hwa Phang, Corea del Norte: Jae-Hwa empieza a dudar de todo el adoctrinamiento de Corea del Norte que por muchos años le ha afectado su pensamiento analitico, pero ahora que una amenaza pone en peligro a ambos países enemigos, todas aquellas mentiras se empiezan a desmoronar, el instinto de supervivencia se activa en su modo de huir. Al descubrir a un muerto vivo, toda su vida cambiará.

Kessie Green, Arkansas: la enfermera Kessie empieza a recibir a todos los afectados por el posible paciente cero que desató su ira en una familia y su hijo es una de las víctimas de este ataque y ella le cura las heridas.

Gleb Rasputin, Rusia: Gleb sigue la pista del paradero de su hermana cuando consigue unas manos amputadas en la calle, llegan hasta un conocido que les avisa que está por morir por una mordida y Gleb lo asesina, comienza un tiroteo.

Imka Suzman, África del Sur: un senador llegó al aeropuerto y avisa lo que está por ocurrir y Imka es testigo de esta declaración, durante el vuelo surge una situación que deja a una azafata herida.

Arte 

Goran logra secuencias de muertes, suspenso y situaciones llenas de sexo y violencia explícitas con detalles impresionantes.

A streetwise Russian cop patrols the back alleys of the opportunistic black market that emerges in response to the crisis...a North Korean soldier observes strange happenings on the DMZ...An E.R. nurse in the rural South fights to protect her hospital from threats without and within...A transgender flight attendant who has observed disturbing clues as she crisscrosses the globe keeps a wary eye on the passenger in seat 23C.

PLOT

The comic separately narrates these four stories of very different characters who must face something unimaginable. Jae-Hwa Phang, North Korea: Jae-Hwa begins to doubt all the indoctrination of North Korea that for many years has affected his analytical thinking, but now that a threat endangers both enemy countries, all those lies they begin to fall apart, the survival instinct kicks in in their flight mode. Upon discovering a living dead, his whole life will change. Kessie Green, Arkansas: Nurse Kessie begins to receive all those affected by the possible patient zero that unleashed her wrath on a family and hers her son is one of the victims of this attack and she treats his wounds. Gleb Rasputin, Russia: Gleb tracks down his sister's whereabouts when he gets his hands severed on the street, they run into an acquaintance who tells them he is about to be bitten and Gleb kills him, a shootout ensues. Imka Suzman, South Africa: a senator arrived at the airport and warned what was about to happen and Imka witnessed this statement, during the flight a situation arises that leaves a flight attendant injured.

Art Goran achieves sequences of deaths, suspense and situations full of explicit sex and violence with impressive detail.
