Sinopsis:
Cuando una joven es acusada de asesinato por disparar a los asesinos de sus padres, su abuelo pistolero debe salir de su retiro para rescatarla de la horca.
Es el 12.º cumpleaños de Josephine, y ella y sus padres granjeros van a un pequeño pueblo del Oeste a darse un capricho. Pero sus padres son asesinados por un grupo de vaqueros juerguistas, entre ellos el hijo de un rico residente local. Cuando el hijo se presenta en la oficina del sheriff al día siguiente para explicar las circunstancias, Josephine toma el arma del sheriff y lo mata de un disparo. Trama

Cuando iban a llevar a juicio a Josie, un angel de la guarda llega, se llama Ethan. Un veterano pistolero que la salva de este trágico final. Las vidas de Ethan y Josie están más conectadas de lo que creemos y ambos se embarcan en una aventura.
Esta historia es una carta de amor de Mike Richardson a los spaghetti western, donde el centro de la historia es la búsqueda de la redención con la familia, con la cual es fácil identificarse y conmoverse. Es una mezcla de Unforgiven con Man on Fire, con tiroteos, persecuciones y cabalgatas hasta el atardecer de ese lejano oeste donde la ley la dicta el más rápido desenfundando.

Arte
Con texturas, detalles y un tono sepia nos traslada a esa epoca antigua y lejana. La iluminación y sombras te hace sentir el sol abrasante de esos páramos que te sumerge en esta historia que espero algun dia sea adaptada en otro medio. La recomendación de Jordi Armengol no puede ser más acertada y es de leer esta novela gráfica con la música de Ennio Morricone de fondo.

Synopsis
When a young girl is accused of murder for shooting her parents’ killers, her gunslinger grandfather must come out of retirement to rescue her from a hanging.
It's Josephine’s 12th birthday, and she and her farmer parents go into a small Western town for a treat. But her parents are murdered by a group of carousing cowboys, including the son of a rich local resident. When the son shows up at the sheriff’s office the next day to explain away the circumstances, Josephine takes the sheriff’s gun and shoots the son dead. As a result, his rich father insists she hang—especially when he finds out she’s kin to a famous retired gunfighter, Ethan Fuller. Ethan Fuller shows up in town to break Josephine out of town and take her someplace safe, but they’re pursued relentlessly by possies and hired gunmen, and Ethan has to make a last stand and answer for his past crimes in order to save his only remaining family.
Plot
Lucas and Katherine Fuller were about to celebrate their daughter Josie's twelfth birthday when they were approached by Andrew McGeary and his friends, all of them drunk. Andrew is the son of the most important landowner in the area and believes himself above the law. They murder Lucas and Katherine in front of Josie. Andrew's father, Robert, tried to hide this tragedy, but Josie managed to get revenge.
Just as Josie was about to be taken to trial, a guardian angel named Ethan arrives. A veteran gunman, he saves her from this tragic end. Ethan and Josie's lives are more connected than you think, and the two embark on an deadly adventure.
This story is Mike Richardson's love letter to spaghetti westerns, where the centerpiece is the search for redemption within family, which is easy to identify with and move with. It's a mix of Unforgiven and Man on Fire, with shootouts, chases, and rides into the sunset of that Wild West where the law is ruled by the fastest draw.

Art
With textures, details, and a sepia tone, it transports you to that ancient, distant era. The lighting and shadows make you feel the scorching sun of those wastelands, immersing you in this story that I hope will one day be adapted into another medium. Jordi Armengol's recommendation couldn't be more accurate, and it's a must-read graphic novel with Ennio Morricone's music playing in the background.
