¿De qué viene?

Las secuelas de ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM y una violenta incursión de Thunderbolt Ross han llevado a Latveria al borde de una guerra civil. El Capitán América se despliega para proteger a los civiles e investigar rumores sobre un arsenal, pero cuando la impredecible nueva versión de S.H.I.E.L.D., interpretada por Nick Fury, se une a la misión, queda claro que todos quieren un pedazo de Latveria, cueste lo que cueste. Con facciones en guerra que desgarran el país y un escuadrón de agentes poco convencionales de S.H.I.E.L.D. con intenciones desconocidas, ¿podrá el Capitán América traer la paz a Latveria? ¿Y es eso lo que sus propios agentes desean?

Trama

Este cómic se ubica luego de la muerte de Doctor Doom en ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM donde el mundo ve con miedo lo que pueda ocurrir en este pais desestabilizado políticamente, cuando dos facciones luchan por ser el nuevo lider de la nacion. 

Las dos facciones son TRUE LATVERIA liderada por SALVATION, una persona con máscara de hierro que emula a Doom, busca ganar simpatía por la similitud, por otro lado esta LATVERIA LIBERATORS liderada por dos hermanos, Mara y Melor Sandu,todos tiene ideas extremistas que si logran obtener el armamento secreto de Doctor Doom, el mundo correrá peligro. 

Steve Rogers es llamado por el nuevo S.H.I.E.L.D liderado por Nick Fury Jr y por el General Ross (Red Hulk), ambos le piden que forme parte de su equipo para realizar un asalto a territorio de Latveria y buscar tomar control de todas esas armas misteriosas antes de que alguna de las dos facciones tome el poder. El detalle es que las Naciones Unidas ha prohibido cualquier actividad de seres con superpoderes en misiones en países extranjeros, es decir, los Avengers estan prohibidos por la ley, pero soldados con superpoderes si forman parte de un gobierno si son permitidos.

Capitán América se reconcilia con Sharon Carter y le explica la situación, ella le explica que debe ayudar a salvar al mundo con equipo que sea el menor de los males. Cap se une a S.H.I.E.L.D porque es un equipo pequeño sin planes de invasión, entrena al un equipo formado por Trevor Tambling, Charles, Joe y Red Widow.

Cuando este equipo de S.H.I.E.L.D entra en Latveria, son atacados por Red Hulk, quien los quiere fuera.

Excelente nuevo arco argumental que se ubica en el presente, se desvincula de lo que la serie había reimaginado y se enfoca en los eventos de ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM.

Arte

Es un arte lleno de detalles que son elevados a otro nivel de calidad con diferentes texturas, donde ofrece diseños tan avasallantes como alucinantes de Capitán América y su nuevo universo de personajes.

What does it come from?

The aftermath of ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM-and a violent incursion by Thunderbolt Ross-have brought Latveria to the brink of civil war! Captain America deploys to protect civilians and investigate rumors of a weapons stockpile, but when Nick Fury's unpredictable new version of S.H.I.E.L.D. joins the mission, it becomes clear that everyone wants a piece of Latveria-no matter the cost. With warring factions tearing the country apart and a squad of unconventional S.H.I.E.L.D. agents pursuing unknown agendas, can Captain America hope to bring peace to Latveria? And is that even what his own handlers want?

Plot

This comic is set after the death of Doctor Doom in ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, where the world fears what might happen in this politically unstable country, as two factions fight for the nation's new leadership.

The two factions are TRUE LATVERIA, led by SALVATION, an iron-masked figure who emulates Doom and seeks to gain sympathy through the resemblance; and LATVERIA LIBERATORS, led by two siblings, Mara and Melor Sandu. Both hold extremist views, believing that if they manage to obtain Doctor Doom's secret weaponry, the world will be in danger.

Steve Rogers is called upon by the new S.H.I.E.L.D., led by Nick Fury Jr. and General Ross (Red Hulk). They ask him to join their team to assault Latveria and seize control of these mysterious weapons before either faction can take power. The catch is that the United Nations has banned any activity by superpowered beings on missions in foreign countries. In other words, the Avengers are prohibited by law, but soldiers with superpowers are permitted if they are part of a government.

Captain America reconciles with Sharon Carter and explains the situation. She tells him he must help save the world with the least bad option. Cap joins S.H.I.E.L.D. because it's a small team without invasion plans. He trains a team consisting of Trevor Tambling, Charles, Joe, and Red Widow.

When this S.H.I.E.L.D. team enters Latveria, they are attacked by Red Hulk, who wants them gone.

This excellent new story arc is set in the present day, detaches from what the series had reimagined, and focuses on the events of ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM.

Art

It's incredibly detailed, elevated to another level of quality with diverse textures, offering stunning and breathtaking designs of Captain America and his new universe of characters.

Summary

Steve Rogers seeks to help stop the rise of a new Latveria led by leaders even worse than Doctor Doom.

CIVIL WAR: UNMASKED CELEBRATES THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SUPER HERO SHOWDOWN THAT RESHAPED THE MARVEL UNIVERSE!

This May, CIVIL WAR: UNMASKED, a new series by Christos Gage and Edgar Salazar, reveals all-new stories set during the explosive era of Marvel Comics’ Civil War event.

CIVIL WAR: UNMASKED celebrates its legacy by recapturing the exciting spirit of the era and shedding light on its most historic developments from Iron Man and Captain America’s morally complex feud to Spider-Man’s shocking unmasking. An anniversary series two decades in the making, the sagas will be packed with twists and surprises, including ones that will impact present-day storytelling.

 

It begins with an urgent mission from Bishop that takes Tony Stark into the Days of Future Past timeline, where the revelation of the apocalyptic future changes everything Tony thought he knew about the consequences of the Superhuman Registration Act.

 

On his personal connection to Civil War, Gage explained, “In 2006, I was a rookie comic book writer when a short delay in the production of the epic Civil War event limited series led to me being offered the one-shot Iron Man/Captain America: Casualties of War. It was my first really high profile project at Marvel, a big hit, and 20 years later, they still haven't managed to get rid of me! So it's a thrill and an honor to revisit that troubled time with CIVIL WAR: UNMASKED, in which I have the privilege of joining with brilliant artist Edgar Salazar and trend-setting original Civil War colorist Morry Hollowell to reveal never-before-told stories from that milestone event!”
