Trama

Playtime se enfrenta a  The Action para salvar a su hija Maggie mostrándole el video como muere Insomniac, como un villano psicópata quien en el video asesina a The Snake, el amor de la vida de Reptilian.

Una integrante de The Action no le gusta la verdad y se dedica a eliminar a la hija de Playtime para luego intentar asesinar a Toy Queen, que ya había fallecido.

Scalpel se entera del beso que se dio Playtime con su antiguo esposo y decide tomar control del mundo criminal envenenada por los celos.

Playtime se aísla y se aleja de su hija y de todos, escondida prepara su regreso creando nuevos juguetes.

Esta entrega se centra en la redención que busca Playtime con su hija, pero que de nuevo no logra y se siente como cuando su madre Toy Queen también fue apresada.

Interesante y conmovedor el final de este arco que deja todo abierto, este cómic es una mezcla de Godfellas con Cronicles.

Arte

Posee muchas texturas y detalles que brinda un tono y estética de cómics de la década de 1980 con toques de frescura. Logra secuencias dinámicas de violencia magníficas. La paleta de colores de los flashbacks es fría y de manera instantánea te lleva a ese recuerdo.

Plot

Playtime confronts The Action to save his daughter Maggie by showing him the video of Insomniac dying, as a psychopathic villain who in the video murders The Snake, the love of Reptilian's life.

A member of The Action doesn't like the truth and she dedicates herself to eliminating Playtime's daughter and then trying to kill Toy Queen, who had already died.

Scalpel finds out about Playtime's kiss with her former husband and decides to take control of the criminal world, poisoned by her jealousy.

Playtime isolates herself and distances herself from her daughter and everyone; hidden, she prepares for her return by creating new toys.

This installment focuses on the redemption that Playtime seeks with her daughter, but that she again does not achieve and feels like when her Toy Queen's mother was also imprisoned.

Interesting and moving end to this arc that leaves everything open, this comic is a mix of Godfellas with Cronicles.

Art

It has many textures and details that provide a 1980s comic book tone and aesthetic with touches of freshness. Achieve magnificent dynamic sequences of violence.The color palette of the flashbacks is cold and instantly takes you back to that memory.

Summary

Frankie risks everything to save his daughter, the closing of this second story arc.

Loretta Follis ha sido madre, abuela y una infame superdelincuente llamada Toy Queen... pero esta noche se ha convertido en un objetivo. Cuando un grupo de despiadados héroes adolescentes llega a su complejo de apartamentos para capturarla y usarla como cebo para su hija Frankie, Loretta decide tomar su arma Jack-in-the-Box para una última pelea. Es un supervillano octogenario contra unos psicópatas interpolados en un brutal juego en el que el ganador se lo lleva todo. El número de cadáveres aumentará en una historia que llamamos “Última batalla en La Leyenda”.

Trama

El nuevo equipo de héroes jóvenes The Action van a la pensión donde vive la madre de Frankie, que se llamaba Toy Queen, de tal madre villana tal hija villana, esta señora se sabe defender y con la ayuda de sus dispositivo y compañeros de pensión logran contrarrestar el ataque cruel y violento de este equipo de héroes que quieren vengar a Insomniac y saber el paradero de Frankie. 

Toy Queen recuerda su compleja relación con Frankie y se convierte  de manera instantánea en uno de los personajes favoritos de esta saga.

Estos héroes y villanos retirados tienen los poderes más originales y descabellados, VHS Villain es alucinante.

Scalpel se entera de que Toy Queen está siendo atacada y no le dice a Frankie, porque ella está haciendo relaciones públicas con figuras políticas y económicas que van a ayudar a legalizar sus negocios. Frankie está confundida y abrumada por mantener su poder criminal, ya que su vida personal sufre de esta indecisión.

Scalpel llega a salvar a Toy Queen, pero estos héroes no son para nada altruistas, son violentos.

Pero toda esta distracción en realidad es una cortina de humo para que The Reptilian, el nuevo aliado de The Action secuestre a la persona que más ama Frankie.

Impactante y vertiginosos penúltimo episodio de este impactante volumen que sigue deconstruyendo el género de superhéroes para presentar una  brillante visión realista y callejera. Es una mezcla de Godfellas con Cronicles.

What does it come from?

Loretta Follis has been a mother, a grandmother and an infamous supercrook named Toy Queen... but tonight she's become a target. When a group of ruthless teen heroes come to her apartment complex to capture her as bait for her daughter Frankie, Loretta decides to pick up her Jack-in-the-Box gun for one last fight. It's octogenarian supervillain vs tween sidekick psychopaths in brutal winner takes all. The body count will rise in a story we call “Last Stand at La Leyenda.”

Plot

The new team of young heroes, The Action, go to the boarding house where Frankie's mother lives, who was called Toy Queen, like a villainous mother, like a villainous daughter, this lady knows how to defend herself and with the help of her device and fellow boarders they manage to counter the cruel and violent attack of this team of heroes who want to avenge Insomniac and know the whereabouts of Frankie.

Toy Queen remembers her complex relationship with Frankie and instantly becomes one of the favorite characters in this saga.

These retired heroes and villains have the most original and crazy powers, VHS Villain is amazing.

Scalpel finds out that Toy Queen is being attacked and doesn't tell Frankie, because she is doing public relations with political and economic figures who are going to help legalize her business. Frankie is confused and overwhelmed by maintaining her criminal power, as her personal life suffers from this indecision.

Scalpel comes to save Toy Queen, but these heroes are not altruistic at all, they are violent.

But all this distraction is actually a smokescreen for The Reptilian, The Action's new ally, to kidnap the person Frankie loves most.

Shocking and dizzying penultimate episode of this impressive volume that continues to deconstruct the superhero genre to present a brilliant realistic and street vision. It's a mix of Godfellas and Cronicles.

Esta pista hace que todos se dirigen hasta Frankie, porque saben que está involucrada. 

Frankie/Playtime teme que la verdad salga a la luz porque su imperio y la tregua entre criminales se rompería, así que ella se va a dirigir directamente a una trampa de The Action, pero su pareja Scalpel la intenta detener, esa secuencia de ambas luchando es épica y dinámica que les dejará sin aliento.

The Action no logra atraer a Frankie, así que van por su madre Loretta Follis, Toy Queen.

Emocionante entrega que sigue desarrollando esta trama compleja donde los superhéroes son analizados desde un punto de vista hiper-real, una mezcla de Godfellas con Cronicles.

What does it come from?

Meanwhile Frankie's recent reckless behavior begins to jeopardize her criminal empire, putting her in direct conflict with her partner Scalpel. It's Minor Threat vs Minor Threat in a brutal rooftop battle for the ages. All that and "justice for Snakestalker" as the second arc of the Minor Threats saga continues . . .

Plot

The new team of young heroes The Action want to prove themselves and find out who murdered The Insomniac, their search began with the attack on Brain Tease, then this unstable team made up of Bite Boy, Wart, Varsity, Dragona, Ms Moment and Undertow come across each other. With The Stickman, who has a clue as to who the killer was, he had a relationship with Snaketalker, who disappeared the same night Insomniac died.

This clue makes everyone head to Frankie, because they know she's involved.

Frankie/Playtime fears that the truth will come to light because her empire and the truce between criminals would be broken, so she is going to head directly into a trap by The Action, but her partner Scalpel tries to stop her, that sequence of both of them fighting It is epic and dynamic that will leave you breathless.

The Action fails to attract Frankie, so they go after her mother Loretta Follis, Toy Queen.

Exciting installment that continues to develop this complex plot where superheroes are analyzed from a hyper-real point of view, a mix of Godfellas with Chronicles.

El mayor héroe de Twilight City, The Insomniac, y su mayor villano, The Stickman, están muertos, lo que le permite a Frankie unificar el inframundo de los súper criminales y afirmarse como la Reina de Redport. Sin embargo el surgimiento de Frankie como nueva líder le ha traído muchos enemigos, como la nueva banda The Action, pero ella no es un rival fácil.

Este segundo volumen sigue deconstruyendo el género de superhéroes mezclandolo con el de mafia, con una nueva visión sobre la redención.

What does it come from?

The hit superhero saga that’s Watchmen meets The Wire returns from Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum, showrunners of Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K on HULU, and superstar artist Scott Hepburn (Tom Morello’s Orchid).

 

Frankie Follis AKA the costumed criminal Playtime has won. Twilight City’s greatest hero The Insomniac and its greatest villain The Stickman are dead, allowing Frankie to unify the super crook underworld and assert herself as the Queenpin of Redport. But Frankie is feeling the pressure from every side. Rival gangs are challenging her authority, Scalpel her consigliere is pushing her to legitimize her empire, and the act of murdering The Insomniac has broken something deep inside her. Frankie is about to learn the hard way . . . heavy is the head that wears the supervillain crown.

 

In the vein of Sin City, Black Hammer, and The Boys, this noir-ish superhero caper, focuses on a lower-class kind of criminal, similar to the Coen Bros most pulpy films, but set in a high concept world of heroes and villains.

Plot

Frankie, alias Playtime assumed a new empire, she managed to defeat the most lethal superhero and now earned the fear and respect of the city, with the help of Scalpel she begins to legalize her businesses, of course, criminal gangs like The Holiday Squad are going to seek to roman their territory.

On the other hand, Brain Tease is still paying her sentence for having eliminated The Stickman and The Insomniac, so she was a kind of celebrity.

However, Frankie's emergence as the new leader has brought her many enemies, such as the new band The Action, but she is not an easy rival.

This second volume continues to deconstruct the superhero genre, mixing it with the mafia genre, with a new vision of redemption.
