New York, NY— September 6, 2023 — On Wednesday, September 6, Marvel’s original podcast series Women of Marvel returns for the fall season with a brand-new format and a new host! New episodes will roll out weekly on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

The weekly series is hosted by Marvel Publishing’s Executive Director for Digital Content Ellie Pyle, alongside Women of Marvel’s all-new host and accomplished author Preeti Chhibber. Throughout the season, Ellie and Preeti are joined by guests for inspiring conversations that spotlight women characters and creators that have made a powerful and positive impact on the Marvel Universe.

In the newly updated format, each episode of the upcoming season is a deep dive into a specific character. The hosts welcome industry experts including creators, actors, scientists, athletes, and professors, as they peel back the layers of various characters and showcase what truly makes the women of Marvel super.

Ellie Pyle is Marvel Publishing’s Executive Director for Digital Content. In addition to co-hosting Women of Marvel, she was the Creative Lead for Marvel’s fiction podcasts. The new season of Marvel’s Voices focuses on the theme of “Building a Better Table: The Power of Inclusive Creative Teams.” The first six seasons of the series explored the inclusivity that exists within the Marvel Universe and what it took to get there. Now that a more diverse set of voices are gaining more seats at the table, season seven examines what that level of inclusion means for the future of Marvel’s storytelling.

Today, Marvel Entertainment and SiriusXM announced their newest original scripted podcast, Marvel’s Wastelanders, will premiere on Monday, December 5. Marvel’s Wastelanders is the sixth and final installment of the popular series and marks the first-ever audio crossover event for Marvel’s podcasts.

The new story features an incredible line-up of talent and brings back the big-name stars that appeared throughout the “Marvel’s Wastelanders” adventure including Timothy Busfield as Star-Lord, Stephen Lang as Hawkeye, Susan Sarandon as Black Widow, Robert Patrick as Wolverine, and Dylan Baker as Doctor Doom.

The weekly 10-episode series is directed by Kimberly Senior (Marvel’s Wastelanders: Star-Lord, Disgraced), co-written by Nick Bernardone (Fear the Walking Dead), J. In the series, Wolverine, Black Widow, Star-Lord, Hawkeye, and Doctor Doom will team up to stop Valeria Richards. She is the smartest woman on Earth, immortal and lonely beyond reason. After surviving a rain of nuclear missiles in Southern California and gaining possession of the reality warping Cosmic Cube, she was driven to the brink of madness. Something mysterious is unfolding in this irradiated “Dead Zone” and it’s up to our heroes to find out what, and to stop Valeria from committing an act of ultimate evil.

Hoy, Marvel Entertainment y SiriusXM anunciaron su nuevo podcast con guión original, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Doom, que se estrenará el lunes 12 de septiembre.

Marvel's Wastelanders: Doom es la quinta entrega de la popular épica de audio "Marvel's Wastelanders", que sigue al éxito de Marvel's Wastelanders: Star-Lord, Marvel's Wastelanders: Hawkeye, Marvel's Wastelanders: Black Widow y Marvel's Wastelanders: Wolverine. La serie semanal de 10 episodios está coescrita por Mark Waid y James Kim, dirigida por Jade King Carroll, y cuenta con diseño de sonido original y música de Mark Henry Phillips.

La serie está protagonizada por Dylan Baker, retomando su papel de Marvel's Wastelanders: Star-Lord como Doctor Doom, y cuenta con las actuaciones de Danny Burstein (Hulk), Keith David (Kingpin), John Hawkes (Klaw), Kristen Johnston (She-Hulk), Elijah Jones (Johnny Claymore), Rebecca Naomi Jones (Valeria), Hamish Linklater (Sandman), Nadine Malouf (Cora) y Luke Kirby (Maximus).

 

SINOPSIS

Después de treinta años de prisión, el Doctor Doom se ha liberado y busca vengarse de los antiguos aliados que lo traicionaron el día que ganaron los villanos. Para lograrlo, se une a Valeria Richards, la hija de su enemigo más odiado, pero ¿de qué lado está realmente?

 

En el Capítulo Uno, "Un superhéroe entra en un bar", Doom se embarca en su búsqueda de la dominación mundial al intentar hacer una alianza. Mientras tanto, Valeria Richards solicita la ayuda de un asesino a sueldo y se dispone a alcanzar a Doom.

 

Sobre la co-escritura de la serie, Mark Waid dice: "He escrito muchos cómics de Los Cuatro Fantásticos en mi tiempo, pero nunca me he divertido más, o he traído una mayor sensación de amenaza y terror a nuestros héroes, que en este historia. James Kim fue un socio excelente y, al combinar sus habilidades con mi conocimiento de Marvel Comics, pudimos crear algo especial”.

 

El coguionista de la serie, James Kim, añade: “Crecí viendo la serie animada de los 4 Fantásticos de los noventa, y siempre me atrajo Doctor Doom porque es uno de los personajes más complejos del Universo Marvel. Lo que me atrajo de este proyecto fue la increíble historia para la que Mark Waid sentó las bases: unir al Doctor Doom con la hija de su mayor némesis, Valeria Richards”. Continúa: “La historia comienza donde ambos se encuentran en los puntos más bajos de sus vidas. Y cuando comencé a escribir en esta serie, también estaba en el fondo. Entonces, fue catártico poner esa energía en estos personajes y descubrir los medios que utilizarán para conseguir lo que quieren”.

New York, NY— September 12, 2022 — Today, Marvel Entertainment and SiriusXM announced their newest original scripted podcast, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Doom, will premiere on Monday, September 12.

Marvel’s Wastelanders: Doom is the fifth installment of the popular “Marvel’s Wastelanders” audio epic, following the success of Marvel’s Wastelanders: Star-Lord, Marvel’s Wastelanders: Hawkeye, Marvel's Wastelanders: Black Widow, and Marvel's Wastelanders: Wolverine. The weekly 10-episode series is co-written by Mark Waid and James Kim, directed by Jade King Carroll, and has original sound design and music by Mark Henry Phillips.  

 

The series stars Dylan Baker, reprising his role from Marvel’s Wastelanders: Star-Lord as Doctor Doom, and features performances by Danny Burstein (Hulk), Keith David (Kingpin), John Hawkes (Klaw), Kristen Johnston (She-Hulk), Elijah Jones (Johnny Claymore), Rebecca Naomi Jones (Valeria), Hamish Linklater (Sandman), Nadine Malouf (Cora), and Luke Kirby (Maximus).

 

After thirty years of imprisonment, Doctor Doom has freed himself and seeks revenge on the former allies who betrayed him on The Day The Villains Won. To achieve this, he teams up with Valeria Richards, the daughter of his most hated enemy – but whose side is she really on?

 

In Chapter One, “A Super Hero Walks into a Bar,” Doom embarks on his quest for world domination by attempting to make an alliance. Meanwhile, Valeria Richards enlists the help of a hired gun and sets out to catch up with Doom.

 

On co-writing the series, Mark Waid says, “I've written plenty of Fantastic Four comics in my time, but I've never had more fun - or brought a greater sense of menace and dread to our heroes - than in this story. James Kim was an excellent partner, and combining his skills with my Marvel Comics knowledge, we were able to create something special.”

 

Series co-writer James Kim adds, “I grew up watching the nineties Fantastic Four animated series, and I was always drawn to Doctor Doom because he’s one of the most complex characters in the Marvel Universe. What drew me to this project was the amazing story Mark Waid laid the groundwork for – pairing Doctor Doom with his greatest nemesis’ daughter, Valeria Richards.” He continues, “The story starts where they are both at the lowest points of their lives. And when I started writing on this series, I also was at rock bottom. So, it was cathartic to put that energy into these characters, and to figure out the means they will go to get what they want.”
