What does it come from?

The End of the Spider-Verse is here! Morlun is back and he is not alone. Allied with one of the most powerful beings known to the Spider-Verse, the scariest Spider-Villain of all time is making his biggest play and no Spider is safe. Especially not the Chosen Spider himself, Peter Parker. With Peter working for Norman Osborn and using a glider…does he have it coming? Spidey’s 60th Anniversary is no joke as two of the most legendary Spider-Creators are working together on Spidey for the first time and you know it’s going to be one for the record books!

Plot

Peter Parker stops a crime using Oscorp technology, which is already part of his daily routine as Spider-man, but suddenly Morlun appears.

Spider-man wordlessly attacks Morlun with everything when he is assisted by Spider-woman, Silk, Miles Morales and Spider-man Noir who appears from a portal... but in reality Spider-man Noir is infected by a being called Shathra who wants to destroy the Spider-verse by making them his slaves.

Morlun shows up to help stop him but Spider-woman drops dead.

This is a first chapter full of action and intense plot twists full of horror and at the same time hilarious comedy, like for example the Spider-man jingle dedicated to the hyphen of Spider-man that Dan Slott once published in several tweets.

Bagley's classic art continues to be reinvented and proves that he is one of the best Spider-man artists.

This August, Dan Slott and an all-star lineup of creators introduce a host of brand-new Spider-heroes in EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE

New York, NY— May 10, 2022 — Announced earlier today at Polygon, fans will return to the SPIDER-VERSE this August in a brand-new EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE limited series! Over the course of five issues, EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE will introduce brand-new Spider-heroes as well as catch up with classic favorites such as Araña, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Man: India! Each thrilling issue will contain three stories packed with debuts, new status quos, and seeds for an overarching saga that will set the stage for THE END OF SPIDER-VERSE, a new epic launching later this year.

“Marvel has decided to do the unthinkable, go big, and bring the saga of the comic book Spider-Verse to a fiery conclusion,” Slott shared with Polygon. “Yes, that’s right. Later this year we shall all bear witness to THE END OF THE SPIDER-VERSE!”
