REVIEW IN ENGLISH:

Where it comes from?
Return with us now to... 1994 as our heroes journey to the past in their attempts to battle and defeat the Council of Wizards!

The future is now! The future is Thundarr!

Written by Jason Aaron and drawn by Kewber Baal (Vampirella: Armageddon, Elvira), along with all-star covers by Michael Cho, Francesco Mattina, Bjorn Barends and Joseph Michael Linsner!

Plot
Thundarr, Princess Ariel, and Ookla travel to 1994 to where the sorcerers are to stop their spell to wipe out the entire human race.

Thundarr confronts them with his sun sword, but they cause him to experience a temporal effect of time travel, so that in seconds he sees all humans massacred and that in the world he comes from, he is the only surviving human.

However, this temporal paradox causes him to return to the sorcerers and find himself in the past.

This entire time travel process is not fully explained; we'll have to wait for future installments to understand how it works.

This comic continues to blend science fiction with fantasy in a dystopian setting, taking seriously the original premise that Hanna-Barbera and Ruby Spears established in the original animated series in the 1980s.

Artwork
Kewer perfectly captures that blend of barbarism and science fiction in each of his panels, creating an atmosphere of mystery.

Summary
Thundarr, Ariel, and Ookla embark on a time-traveling adventure that changes everything.

SECRETS OF THE SUNSWORD REVEALED!

It's one of Thundarr's greatest assets in his fight against the world's would-be oppressors - but where did the Sunsword originally come? How was it forged? And how did the history of this remarkable weapon become so inextricably linked to the fates of Thundarr, Ookla, and Princess Ariel?

The answers to these questions and more await in the pages of Thundarr the Barbarian #4 - all painstakingly researched and rendered by future historians JASON AARON and KEWBER BAAL, and supported by corroborating covers from MICHAEL CHO, FRANCESCO MATTINA, BJORN BARENDS, and JOSEPH MICHAEL LINSNER!

Thundarr and Ookla, still imprisoned, are visited by Ariel, the princess and daughter of the fearsome Lord Sabian. She reveals that in her dreams she sees the three of them teaming up to stop her father. She gives the SunSword to Thundarr, who is hesitant to form this alliance, though they have both shared the same visions in their dreams.

Lord Sabian discovers Ariel's betrayal and sends her, Thundarr, and Ookla to face a monster in the arena. However, Thundarr activates the SunSword and wounds him. Lord Sabian is badly injured but then vanishes. Ariel has a premonition of what her father will do in 1994. The SunSword helps free all of Sabian's slaves.

Plot
This comic begins with Thundarr being held hostage by a group of mutants who bought him as a slave in this dystopian future, where humans are nearly extinct and other beings seek to rule what remains of civilization.

The Groundlings, a humanoid rodent species, need a mechanical part located underwater and send their human slaves to retrieve it, regardless of the risk of drowning. Thundarr frees them and confronts these beings with the help of Princess Ariel and Olak, a mutant of the Mok race.

While Olak provides brute force, Ariel uses her psychic powers to give Thundarr his flaming sword, which he wields with great skill. Thundarr is obsessed with helping all oppressed humans.

The Groundlings obtain what they seek and deliver it to their leader, Lord Gemini, who, along with the Council of Wizards, has managed to build a time machine.
