Trama

Shang-Chi es citado por Leiko Wu (MI6)en Londres para que le ayude a robar una espada que se encuentra en un museo que dejo a un vigilante en estado catatonico.

Esta espada se llana Equinox Blade y el museo va a venderla a un comprador desconocido para deshacerse de este artefacto, Shang-Chi va a entrar en la noche el dia antes para robarla y se encuentra con Lady Deathstrike usandola y robandole el alma a todos los vigilantes.

La batalla entre Shang-Chi y Lady Deathstrike es intensa y muy veloz, pero finalmente Shang-Chi destruye la espada y las almas se regresan a sus dueños, solo que Lady Deathstrike se queda con un fragmento.

El arte es magnifico y vertiginoso, ya que muestra la velocidad de ambos luchadores, aparte de llenar de detalles.

Where does it come from?

Deadly Hands vs. Deadly Blades!
•  Someone has been stealing artifacts of WMD potential.
•  It's up to Shang-Chi to find this person and stop them.

Plot

Shang-Chi is summoned by Leiko Wu (MI6) in London to help her steal a sword found in a museum that it left a guard catatonic 

This sword is called Equinox Blade and the museum is going to sell it to an unknown buyer to get rid of this artifact, Shang-Chi is going to enter the night the day before to steal it and he meets Lady Deathstrike using it and stealing the souls of all guards.

The battle between Shang-Chi and Lady Deathstrike is intense and very fast, but finally Shang-Chi destroys the sword and the souls are returned to their owners, only that Lady Deathstrike is left with a fragment.

Art

The art is magnificent and dizzying, as it shows the speed of both fighters, apart from filling in details.

In Shang-Chi # 3 Shang-Chi is visited by his uncle Zhang-yi in ghost form and gives him a map, but an attack on the Louvre by Sister Hammer deflects him and attacks her with the help of Brother Saber and Sister Dagger, at which time the three fight Synchronized, but Sister hammer escapes, Shang-Chi is affected by being near a Jianshi due to his injury.

What's going on?

Shang-Chi, Brother Saber (Takeshi) and Sister Dagger (Esme) go to the cave in Henan Province in China that Zhang-yi indicated, when they face a dragon, Shang-Chi goes ahead and finds his uncle through a ceremony, in this conversation, there are several revelations, such as that the English when they attacked China in the seventeenth century they used a sorcerer who invoked Dormamu and that in reality Zheng-Zu did not betray The Five Weapons Society, nor his brother.

The final words of Zhang-yi towards Shang-Chi is that he should not leave his family, he must know how to balance that personal relationship.

This Gene Luen Yang installment slows down to focus on mystery, which is nurtured by traditions and ceremonies. Dike Ruan manages to move us from 2020 to 1800 with amazing fluency.

Shang-Chi es llevado a House of The Deadly Dagger en Francia por Brother Sabre (Takeshi) y Sister Dagger (Esme), en ese lugar son entrenados para luchar contra los Jianshi, seres que estan muertos y si te tocan te empiezan a transformar en ellos y mueres, la manera de vencerlos es frotar un papel con sangre de gallina en su frente.

In Shang-Chi # 2 Shia-Hua - Sister Hammer wishes to obtain the spirit of Shang-Chi to become the leader of the Five Weapons Society, for that she poisons him, shang-Chi awakens in another place, he was saved by Brother Saber and Sister Dagger, but in the meantime he was injured by a Jianshi.

What's going on?

This issue narrates the origin of the 5 houses of the Five Weapons Society, founded by Zheng Zhu, based on betrayal and death. Each of those houses has a special room called the Shrine Room where they worship each of the 5 powerful founders. The 5 houses are: House of The Deadly Hand in China, House of the Deadly Hammer in Russia, House of The Deadly Staff in England, House of The Deadly Saber in Japan, and House of The Deadly Dagger in France. All the leaders of each house are brothers of the same father Zheng Zhu.

Shang-Chi is taken to the House of The Deadly Dagger in France by Brother Saber (Takeshi) and Sister Dagger (Esme), in that place they are trained to fight against the Jianshi, beings that are dead and if they touch you they begin to transform you into them and you die, the way to defeat them is to rub a paper with chicken blood on their forehead.

Shang-Chi's wound by the Jianshi has a strange appearance, it may be that Shang-Chi turns into one. Shang-Chi is not comfortable with being called Brother Hand or calling others in the same way, he despises the cult of the Five Weapons Society.

Shang-Chi is visited by his uncle Zhang-yi in ghost form and gives him a map, but an attack on the Louvre by Sister Hammer deflects him and attacks her with the help of Brother Saber and Sister Dagger, at which time the three fight Synchronized, but Sister hammer escapes, Shang-Chi is affected by being near a Jianshi.

Art and Plot

The story of Gene Luen Yang is more and more interesting and intense, mixing mythology, mystery and a lot of action, Shang-Chi is in an uncomfortable situation and not in his best fighter form, Dike Ruan provides a dynamic and intense art.

Summary

Five Weapons Society is divided, with a self proclaimed leader and the deserving leader is forced to act.

This miniseries shows the personal conflicts of a dysfunctional family with a lot of power. It is the best chapter to date

En Shang-Chi # 1 Five Weapons Society funcionó por muchos años bajo el mandato de su líder Zheng Zhu y el nuevo líder Staff intenta mantener la paz hasta que Sister Hammer lo reta y se convierte en el nuevo líder, pero sin el consentimiento de sus ancestros y el nuevo líder debería se Shang-Chi, por lo que ella lo busca en San Francisco para eliminarlo.

¿Qué sucede?

El cómic comienza 15 años atrás con Shang -Chi jugando con su hermana Shia-Hua, ellos se aventuran a un lugar que no deben ir y su padre los castiga con fuerza y envía a Shia-Hua lejos, los separa. Shang-Chi siempre se culpó por esto.

El cómic luego nos lleva al encuentro entre estos hermanos en Londres, que inicialmente es pacifico y alegre, ambos recordando su infancia, claro esta Shang-Chi le demostró que es un guerrero formidable.

Shia-Hua le explica a su hermano que Five Weapons Society tiene 5 casas alrededor del mundo, Shang-Chi es el campeón de la Casa de la Mano Letal (House of The Deadly Hand) y Shia-Hua la campeona de la Casa del Martillo Mortal en Rusia (House of the Deadly Hammer) y que estuvo recluida toda su vida en ese lugar.

Sister Hammer desea obtener el espíritu de Shang -Chi para convertirse en el lider de Five Weapons Society, para eso envenena a su hermano!

Las paginas restantes muestran a Shang-Chi como delirando en un mundo onírico donde al parecer Brother Saber y Sister Dagger lo salvan y esta apunto de hablar con su padre Zheng Zhu

Arte y Trama

Esta entrega esta llena de giros en la trama, acción e información importante del pasado de Shang-Chi,  Gene Luen Yang ofrece datos nuevos e importantes del pasado de Shang-Chi. El arte de Dike Ruan ofrece aparte de secuencias de pelea magnificas una atmósfera de misterio y suspenso ideales. Philip Tan nos sigue deleitando con un toque clásico del pasado con los flashbacks de la infancia de Shang-Chi.

Resumen

Shang-Chi y Shia-Hua se reencuentran luego de 15 años, sin embargo el cariño no es mutuo

In Shang-Chi # 1 Five Weapons Society worked for many years under the mandate of its leader Zheng Zhu and the new Staff leader tries to keep the peace until Sister Hammer challenges him and becomes the new leader, but without the consent of his ancestors and the new leader should be Shang-Chi, so she looks for him in San Francisco to eliminate him.

What's going on?

The comic begins 15 years ago with Shang-Chi playing with her sister Shia-Hua, they venture to a place they should not go and their father punishes them with force and sends Shia-Hua away, separates them. Shang-Chi always blamed himself for this.

The comic then takes us to the meeting between these brothers in London, which is initially peaceful and happy, both remembering their childhood, of course this Shang-Chi showed him that he is a formidable warrior.

Shia-Hua explains to her brother that the Five Weapons Society has 5 houses around the world, Shang-Chi is the champion of the House of The Deadly Hand and Shia-Hua the champion of the House of the Deadly Hammer and that she was secluded all her life in that place.

Sister Hammer wishes to obtain the spirit of Shang-Chi to become the leader of the Five Weapons Society, for that she poisons him!

The remaining pages show Shang-Chi in a delirious in a dream world where Brother Saber and Sister Dagger apparently save him and he is about to speak with his father Zheng Zhu.

Art and Plot

Filled with plot twists, action, and important information from Shang-Chi's past, Gene Luen Yang offers important new insights into Shang-Chi's origin. The art of Dike Ruan offers superb fight sequences and an ideal atmosphere of mystery and suspense. Philip Tan continues to delight us with a classic twist from the past with Shang-Chi's childhood flashbacks.

Summary

Shang-Chi and Shia-Hua meet again after 15 years, however the love is not mutual
