MILWAUKIE, Ore., (July 18, 2022)— This October Dark Horse Comics will publish Hellboy in Love, an all-new five-issue comic book series featuring occult adventure and unlikely romance, by legendary Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, bestselling novelist Christopher Golden, award-winning artist Matt Smith, colorist Chris O’Halloran, and letterer Clem Robins. In the series’ opening tale, the two-part Goblin Night, Hellboy has been assigned to protect a shipment of occult artifacts from a gang of thieving goblins. The artifacts are being transported by train to the British Museum by archaeologist Anastasia Bransfield, and she’s not going to let them go without a fight! Rather than stay behind, she teams up with Hellboy to chase the light-fingered fey through the British countryside and into . . . a local punk show?   “It’s been twenty-five years since Dr. Anastasia Bransfield first appeared as Hellboy’s ex-girlfriend in my novel Hellboy: The Lost Army,” says Golden. “I’ve always thought one of the reasons Mike considered my three Hellboy novels as canon is because of that relationship. Pero Thrym no estaba solo, lo acompañaba un ejército de gigantes, la batalla es ruda y Hellboy descubre que parte del espíritu de Thor está en el martillo y un pendiente de hueso, esa energía lo hace luchar con todas su fuerzas. La batalla final con Thrym es épica. 

Hellboy lucha una de las batallas más mítica de su vida demostrando que es digno de entrar en el Valhalla.

PLOT

Hellboy, Pernilla (Daughter of Aickman), Abe Sapien, Eitri and their dwarves arrive at Utgard, a ghost version of the Frost Giant realm for the final battle with Thrym.

But Thrym was not alone, he was accompanied by an army of giants, the battle is rough and Hellboy discovers that part of Thor's spirit is in the hammer and a bone pendant, that energy makes him fight with all his might. The final battle with Thrym is epic.

Hellboy fights one of the most mythical battles of his life proving that he is worthy to enter Valhalla.

Thrym strengthens himself by sucking the vital energy of people and prepare for the final battle.

Hellboy has been adept at using Thor's hammer, which at the same time grants him wisdom.

It's the most detailed of the series yet, with epic fight sequences.

They discover that Aickman is controlled by Thrym who wishes to awaken an Ice Giant, Aickman is possessed since he organized the excavations in the mountains.

Aickman / Thrym performs a ritual that awakens the ice giant, Hellboy receives information from the hammer on how to fight this formidable enemy.

TRAMA

Es el 18 de febrero de 1988, Hellboy, Abe Sapien y el B.P.R.D  llegan a suecia para descubrir un esqueleto unido a un martillo, pero cada vez que alguien quiere levantarlo cae un relámpago, Hellboy lo levanta y el relámpago suelda el martillo a su mano de piedra y conecta los recuerdos de Thor con Hellboy.

Esos recuerdos muestran a Thor luchando contra una serpiente gigante y lo hace ir al norte de Suecia donde consigue una excavación misteriosa. Todos se dirigen a la casa del Profesor Edmund Aickman quien puede saber lo que ocurre, el detalle es que ambos fueron enemigos en el pasado, sin embargo Aickman los recibe y deja pasar la noche en su casa.

Aickman escapa en la noche y los deja con una horda de zombies.

Excelente entrega que mezcla el universo e Hellboy con la interesante mitología Nórdica.

Captura la acción de una batalla épica con el misterio característico de Hellboy, con muchos detalles que captura la esencia despreocupada de Hellboy con exito.

PLOT

It is February 18, 1988, Hellboy, Abe Sapien and the BPRD arrive in Sweden to discover a skeleton attached to a hammer, but every time someone wants to lift it, lightning strikes, Hellboy picks it up and the lightning welds the hammer to his stone hand and connects Thor's memories with Hellboy.

Those memories show Thor battling a giant snake and causing him to go to northern Sweden where he gets a mysterious excavation. They all go to the house of Professor Edmund Aickman who may know what is happening, the detail is that both were enemies in the past, however Aickman receives them and lets them spend the night at his house.

Aickman escapes at night and leaves them with a horde of zombies.

Excellent delivery that mixes the Hellboy universe with the interesting Norse mythology.

ART

Capture the action of an epic battle with the signature Hellboy mystery, with many details that successfully captures the carefree essence of Hellboy.
