RESEÑA DE "FRANKENSTEIN" DE GUILLERMO DEL TORO LIBRE DE SPOILERS

 

Reseña de FRANKENSTEIN de Guillermo del Toro ya disponible en Netflix

Trama

La historia de Mary Shelley es refrescada con una narrativa desde dos puntos de vista, la de un creador narcisista y la de una creación herida. Victor Frankenstein en su afán de superar la muerte de manera irresponsable crea un ser para lastimarlo y doblegarlo, repitiendo los pecados de su padre pero su ego lo justifica. El análisis profundo de la muerte y su valor en la naturaleza es genial.

Terror y misterio en una atmósfera gótica con una fotografía impecable e HIPNOTIZANTE, Guillermo del Toro logra una cantidad de detalles tal que te trasladan de manera instantánea a esa época victoriana cruda y cruel. Las actuaciones son magníficas, Oscar Issac como siempre tiene un control total de su arte representando a un padre castrante y orgulloso, Jacob Elordi logra ese abanico de emociones desde una inocencia infantil hasta una sabiduría milenaria. Mia Goth logra esa inocencia disfrazada de dolor con solo una mirada.
La impronta de Guillermo llena de Steampunk es como siempre nostálgica y grabada en nuestra psique.

Parte del diseño y artes conceptuales de esta película están basadas en la legendaria obra artística de Bernie Wrightson, en la última imagen del slide pueden ver una muestra del esta espectacular novela gráfica de Frankenstein de este genial artista, este tributo le quedó hermoso a Guillermo y su equipo.
Sin duda este filme será importante y muy mencionado en la venidera temporada de premios y es posiblemente la mejor versión de esta novela.

Trama

Sam es el novio de Kendra la chica más popular del colegio, los bullies que le molestaban ahora le cargan sus libros.Sam está aprovechando su poder para superar que el amor de su vida Amy es la novia ahora de Danny.

Sam no sospecha que Risso, el "ex" de Kendra le tiene preparada una trampa y ser de nuevo el bully de Sam.

Este comic sube el nivel de violencia explícita y terror, mientras crea un atmósfera donde unos adolescentes elevan el bullying a otra escala espeluznante, estableciendo bien sus reglas de vampiros siendo clave para la resolución, incluyendo también temas de ocultismo y vampirismo muy interesantes.

Esta novela gráfica es una mezcla alucinante de Kick-Ass con The Lost Boys.

Plot

Danny and Amy continue their mission to become superheroes thanks to their vampire abilities, although they have never revealed that they are vampires. Amy and Danny continue to create content on their social media accounts; they are allies with the local police.

Meanwhile, Sam, the third member of Night Club, remains separated and has no desire to be a hero again. He is using his skills to win every basketball game and earn a college scholarship as a basketball player. Sam is the boyfriend of Kendra, the most popular girl in school; the bullies who used to bother him now carry his books. Sam is using his power to overcome the fact that the love of his life, Amy, is now Danny's girlfriend.

Sam doesn't suspect that Risso, Kendra's "ex," has set a trap for him and is once again Sam's bully.

This comic raises the bar on explicit violence and horror, creating an atmosphere where teenagers take bullying to a terrifying level. It clearly establishes vampire rules, which are key to the resolution, and also includes interesting themes of the occult and vampirism.

This graphic novel is a mind-blowing blend of Kick-Ass and The Lost Boys.

Es muy detallado y captura la esencia de cada uno de de los actores de la serie, desde las expresiones faciales hasta el leguaje corporal.

The flashbacks show how Eddie ends up being the Dungeon Master of this club, thanks to his dedication and selfless attitude to saving his friends. This comic is a gift for fans of this role-playing game and for fans of Stranger Things.

Excellent supporting story from season four of Stranger Things where we met the coolest, most heroic and endearing character of all the seasons, Eddie Munson, this comic will be perfect to say goodbye as it should be to Eddie and his always positive spirit, with a lot of nostalgia.

Chrononauts Volume 1

Trama 

Corbin y Danny son dos grandes amigos de toda la vida, que resultan ser super-genios, Corbin crea la primera máquina del tiempo, que registra filmación en vivo de la guerra civil norteamericana, ya que la máquina funciona como un satélite, para luego con la ayuda técnica de Danny, el satélite es convertido en trajes que pueden llevar humanos.

Lo que sucede en el primer viaje que está registrado en vivo por la televisión alrededor del mundo, es que Corbin decide vivir entre épocas ya que siente que nada lo espera en el presente, sin embargo sus incursiones podrán generar cambios irreversibles en la historia, por esa razón son perseguidos por División Chrono, departamento del gobierno de EE.UU responsable de ayudar a Corbin a crear esta máquina del tiempo, en otras épocas son perseguidos por otros interesados en el poder de viajar en el tiempo.

La historia es entretenida y dinámica, con dosis de comedia y con muchas referencias históricas y de cultura popular, es una lectura obligada para aquellos que aman los viajes en el tiempo, aventuras de amigos y cómics.

Arte

Están ilustrados de manera espectacular por Sean Gordon Murphy, quien capta la comedia y acción perfectamente la precisión en los detalles es impresionante de ciencia ficción y secuencias de persecución con autos de todas las épocas, tiene una influencia en el manga pero al mismo tiempo en cómics europeos con texturas que lo hace hipnotizante.

Chrononauts Volume 2 Futureshock 

Trama 

Esta aventura comienza con Danny y Corbin en su nueva máquina del tiempo, The Time-hawk, listos para hacer su primer viaje al futuro luego de cinco misiones al pasado. Para este momento Corbin ya se casó con Rachel y tienen una hija llamada Matilda.

Este primer viaje sufre un terrible accidente cuando The Time-hawk no logra viajar al futuro y son enviados al pasado de manera misteriosamente aleatoria, la manera en que regresan es sumamente divertida, muy relacionado a las Tortugas Ninja.

Este cómic presenta a dos personajes del pasado el Profesor Cross y Bronwyn, quienes están po detener un nuevo atentado del 11 de septiembre en Paris, que son nuevos viajeros en el tiempo y sus planes son peligrosos.

Este cómic explica un poco del pasado de Corbin, donde sus abuelos fueron los encargados de cuidarlo luego de quedar huérfano de su madre, Cross los trae al futuro y les cura todas sus dolencias con la máxima nanotecnología que evita el uso de las cirugías, esto hace también que Rachel la esposa de Corbin se enamore de esta era. Todos se están adaptado maravillosamente. Pero todo es una trampa.

Este volumen se centra un poca mas en el origen de Corbin y su deseo de viajar en el tiempo, se aleja más de una historia de comedia entre amigos para centrar en un poco más de drama y redención, al igual hay mucha comedia y giros en la trama en especial en los capítulo 7 y 8.

Arte 

Es una arte menos influenciado en el manga pero con muchas más texturas que le dan un tono de dinamismo interesante, aunque a veces se excede de trazos.

Synopsis

Chrononauts Volume 1

Plot

Corbin and Danny are two lifelong friends who happen to be super-geniuses. Corbin creates the first time machine, which records live footage of the American Civil War. The machine works like a satellite. Later, with Danny's technical help, the satellite is converted into suits that can be worn by humans.

What happens on the first trip, which is recorded live on television around the world, is that Corbin decides to live between eras because he feels nothing awaits him in the present. However, his forays could generate irreversible changes in history. For this reason, they are pursued by Chrono Division, the US government department responsible for helping Corbin create this time machine. In other eras, they are pursued by others interested in the power of time travel.

The story is entertaining and dynamic, with a dose of comedy and many historical and pop culture references. It's a must-read for those who love time travel, buddy adventures, and comics.

Art

The story is spectacularly illustrated by Sean Gordon Murphy, who perfectly captures the comedy and action. The precision of the details is impressive, reminiscent of science fiction and car chase sequences from all eras. It has a manga influence, but at the same time, European comics, with textures that make it mesmerizing.

Chrononauts Volume 2: Futureshock

Plot

This adventure begins with Danny and Corbin in their new time machine, The Timehawk, ready to take their first trip to the future after five missions to the past. By this time, Corbin has married Rachel, and they have a daughter named Matilda.

This first trip suffers a terrible accident when The Timehawk fails to travel to the future, and they are mysteriously sent back in time at random. The way they return is extremely funny, very similar to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

This comic features two characters from the past, Professor Cross and Bronwyn, who are trying to stop a new September 11 attack in Paris. They are new time travelers, and their plans are dangerous.

This comic explains a bit about Corbin's past. His grandparents were in charge of caring for him after he was orphaned by his mother. Cross brings them to the future and cures all their ailments with the latest nanotechnology that eliminates the need for surgery. This also makes Corbin's wife, Rachel, fall in love with this era. Everyone is adapting wonderfully. But it's all a trap.

This volume focuses a bit more on Corbin's origin story and his desire to travel back in time. It moves away from a buddy comedy story to focus more on drama and redemption. There's also plenty of comedy and plot twists, especially in chapters 7 and 8.

Art

The art is less influenced by the manga, but with many more textures that give it an interesting dynamic tone, although it sometimes goes overboard with the strokes.
