Ghost Machine Productions lanza REDCOAT un nuevo personaje que lo conocimos en los dos espicales GEIGER 80-PAGE GIANT #1 (2022) y GHOST MACHINE #1 ONE-SHOT (2024), del escritor Geoff Johns, el artista Bryan Hitch, que narra las aventuras de un casi heroe de heurra que forma parte del universo de los UNNAMED que incluye a Geiger y Junkyard Joe.

¿De qué viene?

¡Es 1892! ¡El año de la Coca-Cola, el primer partido público de baloncesto y Lizzie Borden empuñando un hacha! También es el año en que el mercenario inmortal y ex soldado de la Guerra Revolucionaria Británica Simon Pure se convierte en el objetivo de un culto misterioso. Uno que parece saberlo todo sobre él. Y ahora Simon debe hacer algo que nunca antes había hecho: aceptar ayuda. Ayuda en forma del aliado más improbable: ¡Albert Einstein, de 12 años, obsesionado con descubrir los secretos de la magia de Simon!

Trama

Simón Pure es desenterrado por un joven adolescente llamado...ALBERT EINSTEIN, quien le viene a avisar que su existencia es clave para detener algo que pasará en el futuro que vió su hermana Maja, relacionado con personajes ya conocidos en el universo de Ghost Machine, un robot y un hombre brillante.

Albert ayuda a Simon a escapar de un grupo de atacantes vestidos con la misma túnica del culto cuyo ritual le dió la inmortalidad a Red Coat. 

Los diálogos con acento alemán de Albert son hilarantes, es un personaje interesante ya que le muestra interesado por la magia aun cuando su futuro se enfocará en la física avanzada, sus interacciones con Simon son geniales, así como las secuencias de pelea.

Simon es herido por una misteriosa hacha, que le empieza a ocasionar una serie de dolor y resplandece unas extrañas flamas de energía azul. Simon entiende que hay algo que lo supera y desconoce, así que se va a entrevistar con la única persona que es inmortal como él....Benedict Arnold.

Bendict sabe más de este culto de lo que quiere revelar.

El encuentro con Benedict viene con una revelación sobre el hacha  que hirió a Simon, lo que puede significar algo fatal para un inmortal.

Este cómic sigue aumentando el misterio, nutriendo con personajes reales en situaciones fuera de lo común, donde el origen del poder de Simon tiene una explicación que va más allá de la cuendia que conocemos. El ritmo narrativo es emocionante y los diálogos son un deleite.

Arte

Bryan Hitch ofrece su visión cinematográfica, dónde dirige secuencias de acción hipnotizantes y captura los detalles y tonos de cada época de antaño. Los colores crean la atmósfera perfecta de una época ruda de posguerra.

Resumen

Simon Pure consigue en el joven y precoz Albert Einstein un aliado en lo que parece ser una de las batallas más peligrosas de su vida.

What does it come from?

HE UNNAMED’S REDCOAT IS JUST GETTING STARTED! It is 1892! The year of Coca-Cola, the first public basketball game, and Lizzie Borden picking up an axe! It’s also the year that immortal mercenary and former British Revolutionary War soldier Simon Pure finds himself the target of a mysterious cult. One that seems to know everything about him. And now Simon must do something he’s never done before—accept help. Help in the form of the most unlikely of allies: a 12-year-old Albert Einstein obsessed with unlocking the secrets to Simon’s magic!

Plot

Simón Pure is unearthed by a young teenager named...ALBERT EINSTEIN, who comes to warn him that his existence is key to stopping something that will happen in the future that his sister Maja saw, related to characters already known in the Ghost Machine universe. , a robot and a brilliant man.

Albert helps Simon escape from a group of attackers dressed in the same cult robes whose ritual gave Red Coat immortality.

Albert's German-accented dialogues are hilarious, he is an interesting character as it shows him interested in magic even though his future will focus on advanced physics, his interactions with Simon are great, as are the sequences of fight.

Simon is injured by a mysterious axe, which begins to cause him a series of pain and strange flames of blue energy glow. Simon understands that there is something that surpasses him and he doesn't know, so he goes to interview the only person who is immortal like him...Benedict Arnold.

Bendict knows more about this cult than he wants to reveal.

The meeting with Benedict comes with a revelation about the ax that injured Simon, which can mean something fatal for an immortal.

This comic continues to increase the mystery, feeding with real characters in unusual situations, where the origin of Simon's power has an explanation that goes beyond the story we know. The narrative pace is exciting and the dialogues are a delight.

Art

Bryan Hitch offers the cinematic vision of it, where he directs mesmerizing action sequences and captures the details and tones of each era of yesteryear. The colors create the perfect atmosphere of a rough post-war era.

Summary

Simon Pure finds an ally in the young and precocious Albert Einstein in what appears to be one of the most dangerous battles of his life.
