Ghost Machine Productions lanza REDCOAT un nuevo personaje que lo conocimos en los dos espicales GEIGER 80-PAGE GIANT #1 (2022) y GHOST MACHINE #1 ONE-SHOT (2024), del escritor Geoff Johns, el artista Bryan Hitch, que narra las aventuras de un casi heroe de heurra que forma parte del universo de los UNNAMED que incluye a Geiger y Junkyard Joe.

¿De qué viene?

El mercenario inmortal Simon Pure no es Einstein. Por suerte para él, Simon tiene al verdadero Einstein para ayudarlo. Excepto que este Albert Einstein tiene 13 años y todavía está descubriendo el genio revolucionario en el que se convertirá. Pero bueno, sigue siendo mucho más inteligente que Simon, que necesita todo el poder mental que pueda conseguir para derrotar al culto encapuchado llamado Los Padres Fundadores. Han estado persiguiendo a Simon durante más de un siglo, y ahora que lo tienen... ¿qué pretenden hacer con él?

Trama

Simón Pure, Eisntein y Benedict escapan de la persecución de los Padre Fundadores, Benedict revela que el nunca llego a ver cómo murió George Washington en 1869, al parecer no fue así y ahora los persigue, su objetivo es usar el libro con un ritual que involucra a un inmortal para destruir y quemar todo el territorio de EE.UU...George Washington quiere destruir el país que tanto quiso construir?

Benedict usa el libro para conjurar un hechizo que le permite crear una explosion de agua subterránea, el conoce demasiado bien este libro.

Einstein lee el libro y descubre que la manera de salvar a Simon, es haciendo la herida al Gran Arquitecto George Washington con el hacha, esa sangre que cae hace que Simon quede libre del encantamiento y así eliminan a Washington.

Benedict y Simon revelan que su inmortalidad solo existe si se quedan dentro de las fronteras de EE.UU, al salir del país se harán polvo en segundos.

Einstein descubre que The Founding Fathers fueron invitados a una fiesta en el barco SS Majestic, la invitación dice que podrán conocer a GW..., el plan es herir a George Washington en esta fiesta.

Simon discute con Einstein y le prohíbe que lo acompañe a esto, Eisntein se va llorando porque él le prometió a su hermana que iba a evitar lo que ella vió en una premonición.

Benedict y Simon llegan al SS Majestic, pero Benedict le revela a Simon que él es en verdad el Grand Architect..que George Washington si murió y saca el hacha y le hace la tercera herida a Simon....asi termina esta entrega, con un suspiro asfixiado. 

Benedict quiere acabar con EE.UU y así poder salir de sus fronteras y seguir inmortal en cualquier parte del planeta. Benedict tiene una historia personal con George Washington que pronto revelará.

El ritmo narrativo es intenso, cada página es emocionante y una carrera contra el tiempo con diálogos que son un deleite. Esta historia se sigue nutriendo mezclando historia real y ficción en un perfecto balance.

Arte

Bryan Hitch ofrece su visión cinematográfica, dónde dirige secuencias de acción hipnotizantes y captura los detalles y tonos de cada época de antaño. Los colores crean la atmósfera perfecta de una época ruda de posguerra.

Resumen

Simon se despide de Einstein para ir a enfrentarse al The Grand Architect con la ayuda de Benedict, pero no todo es lo que parece. Reveladora entrega con un giro impactante de la trama

What does it come from?

Immortal mercenary Simon Pure is no Einstein. Lucky for him, Simon has the real one helping him. Except this Albert Einstein is 13 years old and still discovering the revolutionary genius he’ll grow up to be. But, hey, that’s still a lot smarter than Simon, who needs all the brain power he can get to defeat the hooded cult called The Founding Fathers. They’ve been hunting Simon for over a century, and now that they have him…what do they intend to do with him?

Plot

Simon Pure, Einstein and Benedict escape from the pursuit of the Founding Fathers, Benedict reveals that he never got to see how George Washington died in 1869, apparently it was not like that and now he pursues them, his objective is to use the book with a ritual that involves an immortal to destroy and burn the entire territory of the USA... George Washington wants to destroy the country that he wanted so much to build?

Benedict uses the book to conjure a spell that allows him to create an explosion of underground water, he knows this book too well.

Einstein reads the book and discovers that the way to save Simon is to wound the Great Architect George Washington with the axe, that blood that falls makes Simon free of the enchantment and thus they eliminate Washington.

Benedict and Simon reveal that their immortality only exists if they stay within the borders of the USA, when they leave the country they will turn to dust in seconds.

Einstein discovers that The Founding Fathers were invited to a party on the SS Majestic, the invitation says that they will be able to meet GW..., the plan is to hurt George Washington at this party.

Simon argues with Einstein and forbids him to accompany him to this, Einstein leaves crying because he promised his sister that he would avoid what she saw in a premonition.

Benedict and Simon arrive at the SS Majestic, but Benedict reveals to Simon that he is really the Grand Architect... that George Washington did die and he takes out the axe and inflicts the third wound on Simon... thus ends this installment, with a suffocated sigh.

Benedict wants to end the US so that he can leave its borders and remain immortal anywhere on the planet. Benedict has a personal history with George Washington that he will soon reveal.

The narrative rhythm is intense, each page is exciting and a race against time with dialogues that are a delight. This story continues to be nourished by mixing real history and fiction in a perfect balance.

Art

Bryan Hitch offers his cinematic vision, directing mesmerizing action sequences and capturing the details and tones of each era of yesteryear. The colors create the perfect atmosphere of a harsh post-war era.

Summary

Simon says goodbye to Einstein to go face The Grand Architect with the help of Benedict, but not everything is as it seems. Revealing chpater with a shocking plot twist
