Este abril, el pasado alcanza a Carol Danvers en CAPTAIN MARVEL: DARK PAST, una serie limitada de cómics de cinco números, será escrita por el escritor estrella Paul Jenkins, tras su gran regreso a Marvel en marzo con la recientemente anunciada serie The Sentry.
A Jenkins se unirá uno de los artistas más aclamados de la actualidad, Lucas Werneck, Stormbreaker de Marvel, conocido por su trabajo reciente en Storm y Unbreakable X-Men. Un viaje revelador a través del pasado y el presente de Carol, la saga arranca cuando se revela un oscuro secreto familiar, lo que obliga a Carol a revivir su época como Ms. Marvel. Pero algunos recuerdos es mejor olvidarlos, especialmente cuando tienen el poder de amenazar el legado que Carol tanto se esforzó por construir...
SINOPSIS
MÁS ALTO. MÁS LEJOS. OLVIDADOS.
Como ser cósmico, la Capitana Marvel ha salvado universos, frustrado invasiones alienígenas e incluso derrotado a un par de dioses. Pero cuando un ataque a Nueva York, impulsado por un misterioso grupo llamado DNVR, expone una parte oscura de la historia familiar de Carol, ¡se ve obligada a cuestionar todo lo que creía saber sobre el apellido Danvers! Carol sospecha que las respuestas residen en una investigación que se vio obligada a abandonar cuando era periodista, y al resurgir los recuerdos perdidos de su pasado como Ms. Marvel, se enfrenta a su batalla más difícil hasta la fecha.

Sobre su regreso a Marvel Comics y su incorporación a la Capitana Marvel, Jenkins comentó: «Amigos fieles, estoy encantado de volver a escribir no uno, sino dos cómics en la Casa de las Ideas. La Capitana Marvel es un personaje fantástico que también ha aparecido como Ms. Marvel, Warbird e incluso Binary. Con un pasado tan rico y complejo, bajo la guía de tantos escritores increíbles y talentosos, tengo muchísimo material para desarrollar. Espero aportar mi estilo de caracterización y narrativa a este gran personaje, para examinar qué hace de Carol quien es, y quizás incluso para sacar a la luz alguna que otra novedad». Sobre el dibujo de la última aventura de Carol Danvers, Werneck comentó: «Estoy muy emocionado de trabajar en este proyecto. En primer lugar, Carol es un personaje increíble y poderoso, con múltiples capas y conflictos, lo que siempre representa un buen reto. Además, estoy muy emocionado de trabajar con Paul Jenkins. Las conversaciones que hemos tenido sobre los cómics, la historia y los conflictos de Carol para este proyecto me han entusiasmado mucho con todo lo que está por venir».

New York, NY— December 22, 2025 — This April, the past catches up to Carol Danvers in CAPTAIN MARVEL: DARK PAST!
A five-issue comic book limited series, CAPTAIN MARVEL: DARK PAST will be written by superstar writer Paul Jenkins, following his grand return to Marvel this March with the recently announced The Sentry series. Joining Jenkins will be one of today’s most acclaimed artists, Marvel’s Stormbreaker Lucas Werneck, known for recent work on Storm and Unbreakable X-Men. An illuminating journey through Carol’s past and present, the saga kicks off when a dark family secret is exposed, forcing Carol to revisit her time as Ms. Marvel. But some memories are better left forgotten, especially when they have the power to threaten the legacy Carol worked so hard to build…

As a cosmic level being, Captain Marvel has saved universes, thwarted alien invasions and even defeated a god or two. But when an attack on New York—bolstered by a mysterious group called DNVR—exposes a dark part of Carol’s family history, she’s forced to question everything she thought she knew about the Danvers name! Carol suspects that answers lie in an investigation she was forced to drop when she was a journalist, and as lost memories from her past as Ms. Marvel resurface, she’s faced with her toughest battle yet.
On his return to Marvel Comics and taking on Captain Marvel, Jenkins said, “True Believers, I’m thrilled to be doing not one but two books back at the House of Ideas. Captain Marvel is such a great character who has also appeared as Ms. Marvel, Warbird and even Binary. With such a rich and complex past, under the guidance of so many amazing and talented writers, there is a ton of material for me to mine. I hope to bring my brand of characterization and storytelling to this great character, to examine what makes Carol who she is, and perhaps even to bring out a new wrinkle or two.”
On drawing Carol Danvers’ latest adventure, Werneck said, “I'm very excited to be working on this project. First of all, Carol is an incredible and powerful character, with many layers and conflicts, which always presents a good challenge. Also, I'm very excited to be working with Paul Jenkins.
