Anunciada hoy mismo en Fangoria, esta miniserie de cinco números estará escrita por Tom Waltz, conocido por su escalofriante trabajo en Wolverine: Blood Hunt y Knull, y dibujada por Jaime Infante, en su temible debut en Marvel Comics.
La nueva pesadilla de Marvel Zombies comienza después de que los Vengadores y los Cuatro Fantásticos no logren detener una plaga zombi que amenaza con devastar la ciudad de Nueva York. Ahora, convertida en una zona de cuarentena mortal, la última esperanza de la humanidad reside en Punisher y un equipo de héroes callejeros, entre ellos Luke Cage, Elektra, Iron Fist y Moon Knight. Juntos, este variopinto grupo de letales héroes deberá descubrir el origen del brote y derribar la barrera antes de que la infección lo consuma todo.
Sinopsis
¡ESCAPA DEL HAMBRE!
¡Un brote zombi ha azotado Manhattan y la ciudad entera está siendo invadida rápidamente! Mientras los Héroes Más Poderosos de la Tierra sucumben al virus, se erige apresuradamente una barrera para proteger al mundo; pero dentro de ella, se ha desatado una zona de guerra donde los supervivientes luchan por sus vidas contra la creciente horda. Sin embargo, un hombre no busca sobrevivir: busca respuestas mientras se abre paso a sangre y fuego por la ciudad devastada. ¿Y si algún zombi se interpone en su camino? ¡Pues Punisher tiene balas de sobra para ellos!

Sobre lo que le entusiasmó de trabajar en Marvel Zombies, Waltz le comentó a Fangoria: "Tras haberme iniciado como guionista en la industria del cómic con mi historia de terror militar de creación propia, 'Children of the Grave', y luego haber dedicado mucho tiempo a escribir sobre ninjas mutantes —además de ser un fan incondicional de los superhéroes—, que me ofrecieran la oportunidad de escribir una serie de Marvel Zombies fue una emocionante ocasión para combinar las tres facetas de mi carrera. Mi primer instinto fue llevar el popular tropo de los zombis de Marvel a las calles, y qué mejor perspectiva para ello que la de un viejo marine como yo: Frank Castle, el Castigador".

MARVEL ZOMBIES: WAR ZONE, a new five-issue Marvel Zombies comic series by Tom Waltz and Jaime Infante, arrives in September.
New York, NY— June 11, 2026 — This September, Marvel Zombies returns to life in MARVEL ZOMBIES: WAR ZONE, and this time, it won’t be Earth’s Mightiest Heroes who save the day—it’ll be Earth’s toughest! Announced earlier today at Fangoria, the five-issue limited series will be written by Tom Waltz, known for his gruesome work on Wolverine: Blood Hunt and Knull, and drawn by Jaime Infante, in his fearsome Marvel Comics debut.
The latest Marvel Zombies nightmare begins after the Avengers and the Fantastic Four fail to stop a zombie plague from devastating New York City. Now sealed off as a deadly quarantine zone, humanity’s last hope rests with PUNISHER and a team of street-level heroes including LUKE CAGE, ELEKTRA, IRON FIST and MOON KNIGHT. Together, this ragtag group of deadly heroes will have to uncover the origin of the outbreak and break down the barrier before the infection consumes everything.

A zombie outbreak has hit Manhattan and the whole city is rapidly overrun! As Earth’s Mightiest Heroes succumb to the virus, a barrier is hastily erected to protect the world—but inside the barrier, a war zone has broken out as survivors fight for their lives against the ever-growing horde. However, one man isn't looking for survival - he's after answers as he carves a bloody swathe of his own through the ravaged city. And if any zombies get in his way? Well, the PUNISHER has plenty of lead that they can eat!
On what excited him about taking on Marvel Zombies, Waltz told Fangoria, "Having cut my teeth as a writer in the comics industry with my creator-owned military-horror story Children of the Grave, then transitioning into a long stint writing mutated ninjas—as well as being an unabashed fan of super heroes—getting offered the chance to write a Marvel Zombies series was an exciting opportunity to combine all three facets of my career. My first instinct was to take the popular Marvel zombie trope to the streets—and what better lens to witness it through than that of an old Marine like me: Frank Castle, the Punisher.”
