Elvira, la presentadora nocturna de filmes de terror las décadas de 1980 y 1990 encarnada Cassandra Peterson, regresa con aventuras en su formato de cómic. Elvira es una mujer voluptuosa y divertida que ama el género del terror y el look gótico, su película Elvira Mistress of the Dark del año 1988 es de culto. Su principal característica es su agudo sentido del humor/auto-consciente y que frecuentemente rompe la cuarta pared. En este cómic resaltan todas estas cualidades.

Trama
Elvira y el fantasma de H.P Lovecraft, llegan a la librería de la Universidad de Miskatonic en Massachusetts donde Lovecarft dio clases y sabe de su existencia de una copia original del Necronomicon, que necesita recuperar para detener a quien desea abrir las puertas de la prisión de R'Lyeh y liberar al demonio monstruo Cthulhu.
En este lugar se consiguen con la misteriosa bibliotecaria Allison Peaslee quien resulta ser la descendiente de Whateley y ahora es una bruja que necesita usar el Necronomicon para traer de vuelta a Yog Sothoth, pero Lovecraft no puede usar el libro para ayudarla porque es falso.
Elvira le entrega el libro a los torpes integrantes del culto Sons of Nyarlathotep.
Howard Philips Lovecraft sabe quien puede tener el original del Necronomicon, el misterioso October Grendel.
Esta entrega está llena de juegos de palabras y chistes con referencias a la cultura pop y a la literatura de Lovecraft, pero no revela mucho aún de quién está detrás del complot de traer a Cthulhu.
Arte
Kewer eleva la sensualidad y picardía de Elvira en cada uno de sus paneles y creando a la vez una atmósfera de misterio y terror impactantes usando con éxito el universo de seres de HP Lovecraft pero manteniendo la comedia irreverente de Elvira mediante el lenguaje corporal.

Elvira is a voluptuous and funny woman who loves the horror genre and the gothic look, her film Elvira Mistress of the Dark of the year 1988 is of cult movie. Its main characteristic it's her acute sense of humor / self-conscious and that frequently breaks the fourth wall. This comic highlight all these qualities.

Plot
Elvira and the ghost of H.P Lovecraft arrive at the Miskatonic University bookstore in Massachusetts where Lovecarft taught and knows of the existence of an original copy of the Necronomicon, which she needs to recover to stop whoever wants to open the doors of the prison of R'Lyeh and free the monster demon Cthulhu.
In this place they meet the mysterious librarian Allison Peaslee who turns out to be the descendant of Whateley and is now a witch who needs to use the Necronomicon to bring back Yog Sothoth, but Lovecraft cannot use the book to help her because it is false.
Elvira gives the book to the clumsy members of the Sons of Nyarlathotep cult.
Howard Philips Lovecraft knows who may have the original of the Necronomicon, the mysterious October Grendel.
This installment is full of puns and jokes with references to pop culture and Lovecraft's literature, but it doesn't reveal much yet about who is behind the plot to bring Cthulhu.
Art
Kewer elevates Elvira's sensuality and mischief in each of her panels and at the same time creates an atmosphere of shocking mystery and terror by successfully using HP Lovecraft's universe of beings but maintaining Elvira's irreverent comedy through body language.
Summary
Elvira and HP Lovecraft are on the trail to obtain the original Necronomicon, but this book is coveted by all those who play with black magic.
