¿Qué sucede?
Este cómic posee una historia central y tres cortas.
La historia central de Kyle Higgins Mat Groom y Francesco Manna comienza con el misterioso accidente que sufre el soldado Moroboshi en 1966, para luego traslada a 2020, en la sede principal de la Patrulla Científica Unida, donde la Cadete Kiki Fuji está por ir a su primera investigación en campo.
Formar parte de la Patrulla Científica es un honor que logran pocos, en este lugar se encargan de defender al planeta tierra de Kaiju, es una organización global.
Fuji es una cadete en ascenso por su inteligencia y habilidades, reconocida por el legendario Director Ichinotani, quien luego aparecerá en otra historia.
El Capitán Muramatsu lleva a Kiki a su primera investigación de campo, donde se enfrenta a un Kaiju, son salvados por el mejor amigo de Kiki, Shin Hayata, quien lleva años intentando ingresar a la Patrulla Científica.
Kiki se siente frustrada porque sin importar que sea una cadete, no le revelan información clasificada, como el funcionamiento de las armas K-Rays y el otro gran misterio...el primer encuentro cercano del tercer tipo con una nave...la noche que Moroboshi desapareció.
Esta historia cierra con Kiki, Muramatsu y Shin en el segundo encuentro cercano...solo que Shin se acerca mucho.
La primera historia corta ULTRA Q, de Kyle Higgins Mat Groom y Michael Cho narra el origen de la Patrulla Científica Unida, en 1954, cuando Satoru Ichinotani (antes de ser el director) y la Capitán Kyoko Kato intentan detener al Kaiju Bemular en París y se encuentran con el Comandante Ancel de la división Francesa dedicada a encontrar Kaiju, en este momento empieza a nacer lo que será la unificación de la Patrulla Científica. Pero hay otros seres trabajando como espías también.
Las otras historias llamadas Kaiju Steps de Kyle Higgins Mat Groom y Gurihiru, introducen el factor comedia al usar un formato de instructivo de las características de los Kaiju.
Arte y Trama
Esta primera entrega nos introduce en un universo de personajes, tecnología y situaciones interesantes y refrescan la mitología de Ultraman, el arte de cada una de las historias es el adecuado, Francesco Manna proporciona la textura actual, de ciencia ficción, mientras Michael Cho nos ofrece un arte retro que ofrece nostalgia de la década de 1950 y Gurihiru proporciona el toque de comedia necesario para balancear la acción.
Resumen
Marvel refresca la mitología de Ultraman con una excelente historia de origen con misterio, accion, ciencia ficcion y adecuados toques de comedia.
Aquellos que cantaron de niños el jingle de Ultraman van a delirar y los nuevos lectores quedarán enganchados con una historia fresca.

What's going on?
This comic has a central story and three short stories.
The central story of Kyle Higgins Mat Groom and Francesco Manna begins with the mysterious accident suffered by Private Moroboshi in 1966, and then moves to 2020, at the headquarters of the United Science Patrol, where Cadet Kiki Fuji is about to go to her first field research.
Being part of the Scientific Patrol is an honor that few achieve, in this place they are in charge of defending planet earth from Kaiju, it is a global secret organization.
Fuji is a rising cadet for her intelligence and skills, recognized by the legendary Director Ichinotani, who will later appear in another story.
Captain Muramatsu takes Kiki on her first field investigation, where he confronts a Kaiju, they are saved by Kiki's best friend, Shin Hayata, who has been trying to join the Science Patrol for years.
Kiki is frustrated that no matter she is a cadet, they do not reveal classified information to her, such as how works the K-Rays weapons and the other great mystery ... the closer encounter of the third kind with a ship ... the night that Moroboshi disappeared.
This story closes with Kiki, Muramatsu, and Shin in the second close encounter ... only Shin gets very close.
The first short story ULTRA Q, by Kyle Higgins Mat Groom and Michael Cho recounts the origin of the United Science Patrol, in 1954, when Satoru Ichinotani (before being the director) and Captain Kyoko Kato tried to stop the Kaiju Bemular in Paris and they meet the Commander Ancel of the French division dedicated to finding Kaiju, this is the moment where the unification of the Science Patrol born.
The other stories called Kaiju Steps by Kyle Higgins Mat Groom and Gurihiru, introduce the comedy factor by using an instructional cartoon format to explain the characteristics of the Kaijus.
Art and Plot
This first issue introduces us to a universe of characters, technology and interesting situations and refreshes the mythology of Ultraman, the art of each of the stories is appropriate, Francesco Manna provides the current texture, science fiction, while Michael Cho offers us a retro art that offers nostalgia for the 1950s and Gurihiru provides the comedy touch needed to balance the action.
Summary
Marvel refreshes the mythology of Ultraman with an excellent origin story with mystery, action, science fiction and appropriate comedy touches.
Those who sang the Ultraman jingle as children will highly enjoy it and new readers will be hooked on an intense story
