Trama
Reed Richards es un científico prominente y talentoso que lleva su investigación en la NEW YORK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, pero sus acciones negligentes y arriesgadas hicieron que lo despidiera y quitaran toda su investigación, todo se complica cuando entra de en la noche con sus asistente/estudiante estrella Victor Von Doom.
Reed activa su experimento que es un portal a la misteriosa Zona Negativa sin darse cuenta que Victor estaba cerca y prácticamente le carbonizo su piel, esta tragedia llevó a Reed a la cárcel. Encerrado es visitado por la multimillonaria Sue Storm, cuya empresa de cohetes STORM SYSTEMS lleva una racha de explosiones en sus cohetes, ella hace que Reed salga de la cárcel sin cargos y lo contrata.
Ben Grimm es el guardaespaldas de Sue y Johnny su hermano es su piloto quien perdió sus piernas en un accidente aún sin revelar. Reed es adicto a sus medicamentos, por lo que su temperamento es volátil y tiene alucinaciones, mientras siente que él debe ser un faro de conocimiento en la niebla de la ignorancia.
Victor Doom es llevado hasta Latveria donde su madre, una bruja Laveriana, le pide que le diga que le hizo y que vio a través del portal.
Sue Storm le muestra a Reed una explosión de sus cohetes donde hicieron la primera prueba nuclear en 1945, ella descubrió que esa explosión abrió un portal a la Zona Negativa y que sus cohetes son destruidos por un ser de esa dimensión cuando alcanza la altura exacta del hongo radiactivo.
Esta nueva visión presenta a estos cuatro personajes profundamente quebrados moralmente, donde desean ver la luz de un faro al final de todos sus problemas, pero juegan con una ciencia desconocida, es terror cósmico en el universo Marvel. Esta saga es perfecta para leerla en una oscura noche de Halloween donde todos somos cómplices de esta nueva historia de origen sobre personajes que conocemos hace años.

Plot
Reed Richards is a brilliant, prominent scientist conducting research at the New York Institute of Technology, but his reckless, negligent actions lead to his dismissal and the confiscation of his work; matters take a dark turn when he breaks in one night alongside his star student and assistant, Victor Von Doom.
Reed activates an experiment—a portal to the mysterious Negative Zone—without realizing Victor is nearby, resulting in Victor’s skin being virtually charred; this tragedy lands Reed in prison. While incarcerated, he is visited by billionaire Sue Storm, whose rocket company, Storm Systems, has been plagued by a string of rocket explosions; she secures Reed's release without charges and hires him.
Ben Grimm serves as Sue’s bodyguard, while her brother Johnny—a pilot who lost his legs in an undisclosed accident—flies for the company. Reed is addicted to medication, causing a volatile temper and hallucinations, yet he remains driven by the belief that he must be a beacon of knowledge amidst the fog of ignorance.
Victor Doom is taken to Latveria, where his mother—a Latverian witch—demands to know what he did and what he witnessed through the portal.
Sue Storm shows Reed footage of a rocket explosion occurring at the site of the 1945 Trinity nuclear test; she has discovered that the original blast opened a portal to the Negative Zone, and that her rockets are destroyed by an entity from that dimension whenever they reach the precise altitude of the radioactive mushroom cloud.
This fresh take presents four deeply morally fractured characters who long for a guiding light at the end of their troubles, yet find themselves toying with unknown science—a vision of cosmic horror within the Marvel Universe.
