This November, superstar creators Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto reunite after their Eisner-nominated run of Daredevil for a bold new run of AVENGERS. Today, fans can get their first look at a lettered preview from AVENGERS #1, alongside a fresh lineup of variant covers!

 

Spinning directly out of AVENGERS: ARMAGEDDON, the five-issue limited series by Zdarsky, Delio Diaz and Frank Alpizar that launched in June, the new ongoing series thrusts Earth’s Mightiest Heroes into a dramatically transformed Marvel Universe. Following their cataclysmic battle against Red Hulk, the Avengers have been disbanded, but Earth still needs to be avenged! New York, NY— April 1, 2025 — Eisner-nominated writer Chip Zdarsky (Daredevil) and superstar artist Valerio Schiti (Avengers) launch an all-new era of CAPTAIN AMERICA this July, and today, fans can see the reveal of the debut issue’s main cover by acclaimed artist Ben Harvey.

 

Zdarsky announced the series himself during Marvel’s ComicsPro presentation back in February. The upcoming run opens with an adventure set just after Steve Rogers emerged from frozen suspended animation, but before he joined the Avengers. Returning to this pivotal moment in Marvel Comics history will reveal developments that will forever alter how the world views Captain America’s legacy. Following this game-changing arc, the series will shift to the present-day where Captain America will deal with a new threat tied to this earlier secret conflict.

 

Out of the ice and into the fire! While Captain America slumbered in ice, the world changed—for better and for worse. He awakens to a reality where battles are fought in the shadows through secrets and subterfuge, and villains aren’t so easy to identify. When a fledgling dictator named Victor Von Doom conquers Latveria, Steve faces a critical decision: adapt to a new kind of warfare, or forge his own path? And what will the choice he makes in the past mean for his future?

 

“I’ve been a massive Captain America fan for decades. I loved writing the grizzled, older Cap in Avengers: Twilight, so getting to write the actual CAPTAIN AMERICA title feels like a dream!” Zdarsky shared. “We’re exploring Cap’s early days in the modern era with a twist that I think is going to really surprise readers! I’m pretty excited to get this out there in the world, especially with Valerio and Frank’s amazing art!”

The new run kicks off with a story arc set immediately after Steve Rogers reawakened, revealing Captain America’s first battle with Doctor Doom!

 

New York, NY— Februay 20, 2025 — Earlier today, writer Chip Zdarsky made a surprise appearance at Marvel Comics’ ComicsPro presentation to announce he would be writing an all-new run of CAPTAIN AMERICA this July alongside artist Valerio Schiti!

 

Following Zdarsky’s Eisner-nominated run on Daredevil and Schiti’s breathtaking recent work on Avengers and G.O.D.S., the two acclaimed creators team up to change how the world views Captain America forever! The opening arc of their game-changing new run takes place in a rarely explored time period—after the World War II hero emerged from frozen suspended animation, but before he joined the Avengers. Declassifying Steve Rogers’ first mission after re-enlisting in the U.S. Army, the story sees Captain America tasked with infiltrating Latveria, leading to his previously untold first encounter with Doctor Doom. Packed with bold, relevant insights into Captain America’s role and legacy as he learns just how much the world has changed in his absence, this top secret conflict will come back to haunt all involved when the series progresses into present-day storylines. In addition, fans can look forward to Cap suiting up in an all-new stealth uniform and leading an all-new group of Howling Commandos.

 

While Captain America slumbered in ice, the world changed—for better and for worse. I loved writing the grizzled, older Cap in Avengers: Twilight, so getting to write the actual CAPTAIN AMERICA title feels like a dream!” Zdarsky shared. “We’re exploring Cap’s early days in the modern era with a twist that I think is going to really surprise readers! I’m pretty excited to get this out there in the world, especially with Valerio and Frank’s amazing art!

Trama

Ya pasaron seis meses de la muerte de Matt en el infierno, Foggy y Cole fundan un buffet de abogados para ayudar a la comunidad se llama Nelson y North. Ambos extrañan a Matt.

Elektra sigue con el manto de Daredevil y con la ayuda de su protegida Alice, hace rondas nocturnas limpiando a Hell's Kitchen del crimen, ella también extraña a Matt, terriblemente.

Pero Elektra se consigue con un sacerdote joven y ciego en la iglesia Santa Margaret Mary, quien es increíblemente parecido a Matt Murdock...pero aparentemente no lo es.

Pero algo extraño ocurre cuando a este sacerdote de repente se le activan los poderes de Daredevil...

Impactante y poético final de una saga impresionante, gratificante y una de las mejores de la década.

Checchetto usa muchas texturas que resaltan los detalles y hace del cómic muy dinámico, cada panel es hipnotizante.

What does it come from?

THE END! But of what? A life? A love? A marriage? Matt Murdock's time as Daredevil? Or the latest and greatest run in one of Marvel's most celebrated sagas? All of the above?

Plot

Six months after Matt's death in hell, Foggy and Cole found a law firm to help the community called Nelson and North. They both miss Matt.

Elektra continues to wear the mantle of Daredevil and with the help of her protégé Alice from her, makes nightly rounds cleaning Hell's Kitchen of crime, she misses Matt too, terribly.

But Elektra hooks up with a young, blind priest at St. Margaret Mary's Church, who looks incredibly like Matt Murdock...but apparently isn't.

But something strange happens when this priest suddenly has Daredevil's powers activated...

Shocking and poetic end to an impressive, rewarding saga and one of the best of the decade.

Art

Checchetto uses many textures that bring out the details and makes the comic very dynamic, each panel is mesmerizing.
