Este cómic está basado en la película Army of Darkness y Bubba Hop-Tep son dos franquicias fílmicas protagonizadas por Bruce Campbell.
Army of Darkness es del año 1992 escrita y dirigida por Sam Raimi y protagonizada por Bruce Campbell. Es la última parte de la trilogía The Evil Dead y mezcla humor, terror y ultraviolencia con situaciones exageradas, por ejemplo Ash perdió su mano y se colocó una sierra eléctrica para luchar contra el mal.
Bubba Hop-Tep es del año 2002 que narra la vida del cantante Elvis Presley quien decide decide cambiar su identidad con uno de sus imitadores, Sebastian Huff, luego de tener una mala racha, pierde los papeles que demostraban que él era el verdadero Elvis. Años después de este suceso, un avejentado Elvis se encuentra recluido en una residencia para ancianos, todavía con la identidad del difunto Huff. Al investigar sobre una serie de hechos macabros, Elvis descubre que una momia egipcia resucitada está acabando con la vida de los residentes, logrando salvar a todos y convirtiéndose en un héroe de su comunidad.
¿De qué viene?
En ARMY OF DARKNESS BUBBA HOP-TEP #2 Ash llega del futuro para reencontrarse con Elvis en las Vegas en la década de 1970, le explica al Rey del Rock que en el futuro se conocen y que vino para quitarle a una momia su traje, ambos luchan contra esa momia y creen vencerla.
¿Qué sucede?
En el avión de Elvis, ambos están hablando y desayunando, cuando de repente son atacados por escarabajos y la momia en pleno vuelo, la batalla es campal con mucha acción, comedia y líricas de canciones de Elvis.
Esta entrega está llena de acción con un arte espectacular que presenta poses de artes marciales que rememoran esa era dorada de Bruce Lee, magnífics páginas splash.

Resumen
En este penúltimo capítulo de este primer arco argumental, vemos mucha acción apoyada de buenos dibujos y muchas artes marciales.

Bubba Hop-Tep is from the year 2002 that narrates the life of the singer Elvis Presley who decides to change his identity with one of his imitators, Sebastian Huff, after having a bad streak, loses the papers that showed that he was the real Elvis. Years after this event, an elderly Elvis is being held in a nursing home, still with the identity of the late Huff. When investigating a series of macabre events, Elvis discovers that a resurrected Egyptian mummy is killing the residents, saving everyone and becoming a hero of their community.

On Elvis' plane, both are talking and having breakfast, when suddenly they are attacked by beetles and the mummy in mid-flight, the battle is pitched with lots of action, comedy and lyrics from Elvis' songs.
