Ghost Machine Productions lanza REDCOAT un nuevo personaje que lo conocimos en los dos especiales GEIGER 80-PAGE GIANT #1 (2022) y GHOST MACHINE #1 ONE-SHOT (2024), del escritor Geoff Johns, el artista Bryan Hitch, que narra las aventuras de un casi héroe de guerra que forma parte del universo de los UNNAMED que incluye a Geiger y Junkyard Joe.
¿De qué viene?
Una fuerza misteriosa amenaza con cambiar el curso de la Guerra Civil, ¡entregándole a la Confederación una victoria impensable! ¿Los únicos que se interponen en su camino? El inmortal e inmoral Simon Pure y el enigmático nuevo mito estadounidense conocido como el Norteño. ¿Pero podrán estos dos insólitos soldados dejar de lado sus diferencias el tiempo suficiente para evitar una catástrofe? ¿Y cómo se conecta esta batalla del pasado con el páramo del futuro de Geiger? La historia está a punto de ser reescrita, pero ¿por quién?

Trama
THE NORTHERNER, Simon y Sarah siguen la pista de Mr Cobbler quien está por entregar armas de guerra del futuro a la coalición de los Confederados (Estados del Sur de EE.UU) y así cambiar la historia, creando un futuro distópico lleno de limitaciones sociales y tiranía.
The Northerner y Simon también llevaban armas del futuro como ametralladoras, pistolas automáticas y granadas, pero Cobbler les hace una trampa y se les adelanta, pero no cuenta con el conocimiento de Simón del bosque.
Mr Cobbler es interceptado por Simon, Sarah y The Northerner cuando estaba por entregar las armas a los confederados, en ese momento Simón experimente una serie de visiones de ese futuro terrible que The Northerner quiere detener. Cobbler hiere a The Northerner pero Simon aprende a usar las granadas y acaba con ese cargamento de armas.
Con la explosion, The Northerner y Cobbler desaparecen en un portal de destellos azules, así como cualquier rastro de ellos y sus armas.
Simon lleva a Sarah a un asentamiento de la Unión (Estados del Norte de EE.UU) donde es recibida con cariño, así como muchos niños desplazados o hijos de esclavos. Simon le entrega su abrigo rojo que tanto ama para que lo cuiden mientras se viste el saco azul de la Unión y los ayuda a ganar esta guerra.
El epílogo del cómic muestra a The Northerner llegando a otra era del tiempo, va la futuro y se topa con...Barney y Geiger!!!....en Geiger #20 veremos este encuentro con detalle.
Magnífico cierre de esta historia que muestra el trabajo de The Northerner por detener los cambios en el tiempo y Simon dejándose llevar por su lado bondadoso.
Arte
Bryan Hitch ofrece su visión cinematográfica, dónde dirige secuencias de acción hipnotizantes y captura los detalles y tonos de cada época de antaño. Los colores crean la atmósfera perfecta de una época ruda de posguerra.
Tiene un manejo de las escalas hipnotizante, transporta y te sacude con visiones realistas impactantes en un formato muy parecido al cinematográfico.

What does it come from?
A mysterious force threatens to turn the tide of the Civil War by handing the Confederacy an unthinkable victory! The only ones standing in its way? The immortal, amoral Simon Pure and the enigmatic new American Myth known as the Northerner. But can these two unlikely soldiers put aside their differences long enough to stop a catastrophe? And how does this battle in the past connect to Geiger’s wasteland of the future? History is about to be rewritten—but by whom?
Plot
In THE NORTHERNER, Simon and Sarah track down Mr. Cobbler, who is about to deliver weapons of war from the future to the Confederate coalition (the Southern states of the US) and thus change history, creating a dystopian future filled with social limitations and tyranny.
The Northerner and Simon were also carrying weapons from the future such as machine guns, automatic pistols, and grenades, but Cobbler traps them and gets there first, but he doesn't count on Simon's knowledge of the forest.
Mr. Cobbler is intercepted by Simon, Sarah, and The Northerner as he is about to deliver the weapons to the Confederates. At that moment, Simon experiences a series of visions of the terrible future The Northerner wants to stop. Cobbler injures The Northerner, but Simon learns how to use grenades and destroys the weapons shipment.
With the explosion, The Northerner and Cobbler disappear into a portal of blue flashes, along with any trace of themselves and their weapons.
Simon takes Sarah to a Union settlement (in the northern states of the U.S.), where she is warmly welcomed, along with many displaced children or children of slaves. Simon gives her his beloved red coat to look after while he dons the Union blue coat and helps them win this war.
The comic's epilogue shows The Northerner arriving in another era of time, going into the future, and running into... Barney and Geiger!!!...in Geiger #20, we'll see this encounter in detail.
A magnificent conclusion to this story that showcases The Northerner's work to stop the changes in time and Simon letting his kindness take over.
Art
Bryan Hitch offers his cinematic vision, directing mesmerizing action sequences and capturing the details and tones of each era. The colors create the perfect atmosphere of a harsh post-war era.
It has a mesmerizing command of scale, transporting and shocking with striking realistic visions in a cinematic-like format.
