Un misterioso de asesinato en una habitación cerrada desconcierta a la detective paranormal Sarah Jewell y a su socia Marie Therese cuando un viaje de fin de semana a una isla privada frente a la costa de Washington se complica. Atrapada por una tormenta y rodeado de una miríada de sospechosos que se han reunido para una subasta de artículos ocultos, el intrépido dúo debe desentrañar los misterios sobrenaturales que rodean a los invitados con la esperanza de descubrir al asesino. Trama
Arlen está vivo y Sarah Jewell empieza su interrogatorio, pero ya se imaginaba lo que estaba ocurriendo, sin embargo Arlen confiesa cuál fue su negocio con unos seres del bosque que les llamó "little folk".
A cambio de un futuro brillante y riquezas, Arlen debía sacrificar el presente y futuro de otros como ofrenda, pero en algún momento tiene que pagarles con su futuro. Esto lo hizo desde niño cuando sacrificó al niño llamado Chauncey, cuyo sobrino Caliban vino a pedir respuestas.
Esta mansión la construyó con una serie de artefactos poderosos que le dieron protección pero tuvo que fingir su muerte para despistar a los Little Folk, pero su abogado y esposa hacen una subasta y movieron todos los artefactos dejando la casa sin protección, por lo que tuvo que eliminar a los posibles testigos y tratar de colocar todos los artefactos e su lugar.
En ese momento llega los Little Folk a cobrar la deuda.
Esta historia mezcla el suspenso con lo sobrenatural a la perfección, con un capítulo final espectacular que explica todo.

Este capítulo final goza con el arte más detallado de toda la serie, mezclando diferentes épocas con sutiles cambios de las texturas, espectacular.

A locked-room murder mystery puzzles paranormal detective Sarah Jewell and her associate Marie Therese when a weekend trip on a private island off the coast of Washington goes astray. Trapped by a storm and surrounded by myriad suspects who have gathered for an auction of occult items, the intrepid duo must unravel the supernatural mysteries surrounding the guests in hopes of uncovering the murderer! But all the while, bodies keep piling up, and at any moment Sarah or Marie Therese could be next!
Mike Mignola and Chris Roberson return to the world of Hellboy, accompanied by artist Leila del Duca and colorist Michelle Madsen.
Plot
Arlen is alive and Sarah Jewell begins her interrogation, but she already imagined what was happening, however Arlen confesses what her business was with some forest beings who called them "little folk".
Arlen is alive and Sarah Jewell begins her interrogation, but she already imagined what was happening, however Arlen confesses what her business was with some forest beings who called them "little folk".
In exchange for a bright future and riches, Arlen had to sacrifice the present and future of others as an offering, but at some point he has to repay them with his future. This he did as a child when he sacrificed the boy named Chauncey, whose nephew Caliban came to ask for answers.
He built this mansion with a series of powerful artifacts that gave him protection but he had to fake his death to mislead the Little Folk, but his lawyer and wife put up an auction and moved all the artifacts leaving the house unprotected, so he had to eliminate the possible witnesses and try to put all the artifacts in their place.
At the end the Little Folk arrive to collect the debt.
This story blends suspense with the supernatural to perfection, with a spectacular final chapter that explains everything.

This final chapter features the most detailed art in the entire series, mixing different eras with subtle changes in textures, spectacular.
