Ghost Machine Productions lanza REDCOAT un nuevo personaje que lo conocimos en los dos especiales GEIGER 80-PAGE GIANT #1 (2022) y GHOST MACHINE #1 ONE-SHOT (2024), del escritor Geoff Johns, el artista Bryan Hitch, que narra las aventuras de un casi héroe de guerra que forma parte del universo de los UNNAMED que incluye a Geiger y Junkyard Joe.
¿De qué viene?
Todos tenemos un compañero de copas, ¡pero no hay nadie más mágico que Johnny Appleseed! Johnny, una leyenda estadounidense, vivió una vida llena de aventuras, en particular cuando se cruzó con nuestro inmortal casaca roja británico Simon Pure, que compartió su búsqueda de un buen momento con una buena bebida. ¿Qué secretos revela Simon en su estado de ebriedad? Muchos.
Trama
Esta historia ocurre en 1816, cuando Simon se encuentra con Johnny Appleseed, ambos son amigos del pasado y deciden reencontrarse una vez al año para ponerse al día con sus aventuras.
Johnny Appleseed es un personaje importante en la historia de EE.UU, el fue encargado de conseguir el mejor lugar para plantar manzanas y lo logró con mucho éxito.
En el cómic Johnny posee cierto conocimiento de la magia y sabe intuirla po lo que sin querer hace que Simon active una de sus semillas de manzana, creando una fruta de dimensiones exageradas que también incluye una lombriz de este tamaño.
El cómic resalta como Simon tiene una pobre opinión de sí mismo, pero Johnny cree en el, lo compara con una manzana verde, que en un momento va a madurar y convertirse en el ser amable y de buen corazón que tiene encerrado detrás de tantos traumas que sumando su inmortalidad lo hace ser menos humano y cruel. Johnny Appleseed es el cable a tierra de Simon.
Simon aún no conoce el potencial de su poder, es una magia que responde diferente en cada situación.
Esta reunión anual para beber sidra se convierte en una nueva aventura que ambos recordarán.

Bryan Hitch ofrece su visión cinematográfica, dónde dirige secuencias de acción hipnotizantes y captura los detalles y tonos de cada época de antaño. Los colores crean la atmósfera perfecta de una época ruda de posguerra.
Tiene un manejo de las escalas hipnotizante, transporta y te sacude con visiones realistas impactantes en un formato muy parecido al cinematográfico.

What does it come from?
Everyone has a drinking buddy, but there’s none more magical than Johnny Appleseed! An American legend, Johnny lived an adventurous life, particularly when he crossed paths with our immortal British redcoat Simon Pure, who shared his pursuit of a good time with good drink. What secrets does Simon reveal in his inebriated state? Plenty.
Plot
This story takes place in 1816, when Simon meets Johnny Appleseed, both are friends from the past and decide to meet again once a year to catch up on their adventures.
Johnny Appleseed is an important character in the history of the USA, he was in charge of getting the best place to plant apples and he did it very successfully.
In the comic Johnny has some knowledge of magic and knows how to intuit it so he accidentally makes Simon activate one of his apple seeds, creating a fruit of exaggerated dimensions that also includes a worm of this size.
The comic highlights how Simon has a low opinion of himself, but Johnny believes in him, he compares him to a green apple, which at some point will mature and become the kind and good-hearted being that he has locked away behind so many traumas that adding his immortality makes him less human and cruel. Johnny Appleseed is Simon's ground wire.
Simon still does not know the potential of his power, it is a magic that responds differently in each situation.
This annual cider drinking get-together turns into a new adventure that both will remember.
