Dark Horse Comics es ahora la nueva editorial de Millarworld/Netflix, por lo que se va a dedicar a reeditar todas las impactantes novelas gráficas de la mente de Mark Millar. La primera es The Magic Order. Esta nueva edición incluye un adelanto del Volumen 2.

Esta nueva miniserie nos adentra con facilidad en un fértil mundo de hechicería y fantasía a gran escala, la historia te atrapa página a página sorprendiendo panel tras panel, recuerden que este es el primer cómic propiedad de Netflix que pronto tendrá su versión de serie en su plataforma streaming.

Millarworld y Dark Horse Comics se enorgullecen de presentar los dos primeros arcos del exitoso thriller de fantasía en un formato de tapa dura de gran tamaño y de lujo.

Hay una razón por la que nunca has visto un fantasma. Durante el día, estas personas viven entre nosotros como nuestros amigos, vecinos y compañeros de trabajo. Por la noche, son los hechiceros, magos y hechiceros que nos protegen de las fuerzas de la oscuridad.

Trama

The Magic Order plantea que existe varias familias de magos que por generaciones nos han protegido de amenazas sobrenaturales, pero esto lo hacen en secreto y viven entre nosotros como personas normales. Hay una familia que no está de acuerdo con estas acciones altruistas y desean el poder del misterioso libro Orichalcum. Cuando un de los hechiceros de la orden es brutalmente asesinado con mucha facilidad por un misterioso mago llamado The Venetian, las alarmas se activan de la comunidad de magos.

Este volumen incluye del #1 al #6, donde los tres herederos de esta orden Regan, Gabriel y Cordelia, cada uno tiene un punto de vista diferente del legado de su padre Leonard Moonstone. Regan quiere seguir los pasos de su padra, sin embargo es muy impulsivo, se maneja por sus emociones, Cordelia (con las mejores historias de vida) desea alcanzar también los estándares de su padre pero posee un carácter más intuitivo que la hace cometer errores y finalmente está Gabriel, el mas poderoso pero que debido a una tragedia familiar, le dio la espalda a este mundo de hechizos, ahora los tres deben unir fuerzas para detener a The Venetian.

Arte

El arte es perfecto, la trama te absorve pagina a pagina, los hechizos que elaboran los personajes son los más originales que pueden leer en cualquier serie o libro de fantasía, contamos los segundos para el próximo volumen. Mark Millar y Olivier Coipel engranan perfectamente como equipo creativo.

Al final incluyen los bocetos de personajes de la producción interna arte de Eve Mae Roman, Basado en diseños del equipo de Netflix.

Resumen

The Magic Order es una serie con un enfoque de la magia crudo y para adultos, mezclando la fantasía con el suspenso y terror de la guerra entre mafias, es sin duda una novela gráfica de lectura obligada con magníficos giros en la trama.

Synopsis

There's a reason you've never seen a ghost. By day, these people live among us as our friends, neighbors, and co-workers. By night, they are the sorcerers, magicians, and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness.

Collected together for the first time, this beautiful hardcover introduces us to this supernatural world and features the artwork of modern masters Oliver Coipel and Stuart Immonen.

Soon to be a major Netflix series.

Plot

The Magic Order states that there are several families of magicians who for generations have protected us from supernatural threats, but they do this in secret and live among us as normal people. There is a family that does not agree with these altruistic actions and they want the power of the mysterious book called The Orichalcum. When one of the sorcerers of the order is brutally murdered very easily by a mysterious magician called The Venetian, alarms are activated by the sorcerer community.

This volume includes the comics from # 1 to # 6, where the three heirs of this order, Regan, Gabriel and Cordelia, each have a different point of view from the legacy of his father Leonard Moonstone. Regan wants to follow in her father's footsteps, however he is very impulsive, he is driven by his emotions, Cordelia (with the best life tales) wants to reach the standards of her father but has a more intuitive character that makes her make mistakes and finally there is Gabriel, the most powerful but due to a family tragedy, he turned his back on this world of spells, now the three must join forces to stop The Venetian.

Art

The art is perfect, the plot absorbs you page by page, the spells that the characters elaborate are the most original they can read in any series or fantasy book, we count the seconds for the next volume, Mark Millar and Olivier Coipel mesh perfectly as creative team.

At the end they include character sketches from the in-house production art of Eve Mae Roman, based on designs by the Netflix team.

Summary

The Magic Order is a series with a focus on raw magic and for adults, mixing fantasy with the suspense and terror of the war between mafias, is undoubtedly a  must read graphic novel with magnificent plot's twists .

Sinopsis

EL FANTASMA DE LA NAVIDAD PASADA

Es Nochebuena. Hannah tiene siete años y está deseando pasar las vacaciones con su padre, pero cuando se despierta la mañana de Navidad, las cosas no parecen estar bien. Jerome está actuando de forma sospechosa, las ventanas muestran las mismas escenas una y otra vez, y alguien, o algo, la está esperando al otro lado de la pared...

Trama 

Este cómic narra un día de víspera de navidad de Hannah Curtis cuando apenas tenía 7 años, donde ella se queda con su papa, mientras su hermana Eve se va sin sus abuelos, esta separación le parece misteriosa a Hannah, pero su padre la convence que ocurre porque ella es menor y se debe quedar con su padre.

En realidad Hannah es constantemente vigilada por Williams y la Dra Gohel, superiores a Jerome. Hannah es parte de un experimento mientras ya que su contraparte de otra dimensión está en el laboratorio en estado crítico.

Este cómic narra la relación triste y complicada entre Jerome y Hanna, quienes viven el duelo de la madre fallecida y los efectos de los secretos del padre, donde Hannah pasa mucho tiempo sola.

Emotiva entrega con revelaciones impactantes de esta historia que mezcla misterio con ciencia ficción.

Arte 

Es muy detallado, captura las expresiones faciales con cierto grado de hiperrealismo,  recuerda mucho a la estética de cómics como Heavy Metal. Los diseños tecnológicos de los laboratorios son hipnotizantes.

Resumen

Hannah recuerda una navidad llena de misterio con su padre, mientras ella lidia con el duelo.

Synopsis

THE GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST

It's Christmas Eve. Hannah is seven years old and looking forward to spending the holidays with her father, but when she wakes on Christmas morning, things don't seem right. Jerome is acting suspiciously, the windows are showing the same scenes over and over again, and someone, or something, is waiting for her on the other side of the wall...

Plot

This comic narrates a Christmas Eve day for Hannah Curtis when she was just 7 years old, where she stays with her dad, while her sister Eve leaves without her grandparents. This separation seems mysterious to Hannah, but her father convinces her that It happens because she is a minor and must stay with her father. In reality, Hannah is constantly watched by Williams and Dr. Gohel, Jerome's superiors. Hannah is part of an experiment while her counterpart from another dimension is in the lab in critical condition, This comic tells the sad and complicated relationship between Jerome and Hanna, who are grieving their deceased mother and the effects of her father's secrets, where Hannah spends a lot of time alone. Emotional delivery with shocking revelations of this story that mixes mystery with science fiction. Art It is very detailed, capturing facial expressions with a certain degree of hyperrealism, very reminiscent of the aesthetics of comics like Heavy Metal. The technological designs of the laboratories are mesmerizing.

Summary

Hannah remembers a Christmas full of mystery with her father, while she deals with grief.

Sinopsis

FINAL DE LA MINISERIE

Con la llegada de una tercera base antártica, Hannah y la Dra. Hannah deben unirse contra un nuevo enemigo común. Trazando un plan para saltar al mundo de Hannah, la Dra. Hannah revela los desgarradores motivos detrás de sus acciones. Con el enemigo acercándose, el equipo debe hacer un último sacrificio en su desesperado intento por escapar a un lugar seguro.

Trama 

Hannah Curtis intenta escapar de este mundo que es parecido al nuestro pero con ciertas modificaciones impactantes. Para poder volver a su mundo deben activar el portal, para eso necesitan energía que obtienen de asesinar a sus copias.

Pero de repente llega otra gente, otra versión  alterna de Hannah, por lo que la Dr Curtis, la Dr Hirsh y Matteo se unen para poder escapar.

Hannah descubre que su hermana mayor si estaba viva en este mundo y que era la razón por la cual la Dr Curtis quiere a Hannah.

El plan de estas versiones alternas es salvar a sus mundos que están al borde del apocalipsis y usar las versiones alternas de nuestro mundo como combustible.

Hannah, La Dra Hirsh, Matteo, Yen y la Dra Curtis logran escapar y se consiguen con un misterioso personaje que promete llevarlos con su padre..el origen de todo este enredo cósmico.

Vertiginoso cierre del primer arco argumental que queda abierto para descubrir el paradero del padre de Hannah.

Arte 

Es muy detallado, captura las expresiones faciales con cierto grado de hiperrealismo,  recuerda mucho a la estética de cómics como Heavy Metal.

Resumen

Hannah debe lidiar no solo con versiones alternas  de sí misma y de personas queridas, también de una serie de revelaciones que la dirigen a saber quien es su padre.

El dolor del duelo se intensifica con todo este nuevo mundo.

Synopsis

With the arrival of a third Antarctic base, Hannah and Dr. Hannah must unite against a new common enemy. Plot

Hannah Curtis tries to escape from this world that is similar to ours but with certain shocking modifications. In order to return to her world they must activate the portal, for that they need energy that they obtain from killing their copies. But suddenly other people arrive, another alternate version of Hannah, so Dr Curtis, Dr Hirsh and Matteo join together to escape.

Hannah discovers that her older sister was indeed alive in this world and that she was the reason why Dr. Curtis loves Hannah. The plan of these alternate versions is to save their worlds that are on the brink of apocalypse and use the alternate versions of our world as fuel. Hannah, Dr Hirsh, Matteo, Yen and Dr Curtis manage to escape and find themselves with a mysterious character who promises to take them to his father... the origin of this entire cosmic mess.

Dizzying closure of the first plot arc that remains open to discover the whereabouts of Hannah's father. Art It is very detailed, capturing facial expressions with a certain degree of hyperrealism, very reminiscent of the aesthetics of comics like Heavy Metal.

Summary

Hannah must deal not only with alternate versions of herself and loved ones, but also with a series of revelations that lead her to find out who her father is. The pain of grief intensifies with this whole new world.
