¡Berserker Unbound es el nuevo cómic de Mike Deodato Jr. y Jeff Lemire (reciente ganador del premio Eisner)! Un guerrero viaja siglos en el futuro a nuestra época, una serie que mezcla acción, magia y drama. Este es el primer cómic de Deodato luego de retirarse de Marvel Comics luego de 24 años de carrera.
¿De qué viene?
Mongrel King el temido y mejor guerrero del planeta en ese momento con el apodo de Berserker, descubre que asesinaron brutalmente a su esposa Rhona y a su hija Elmy, cegado por la ira lucha y vence con cientos de hombres y es herido.
Al ver que llegan más guerreros, le da un ataque de cobardía y se esconde en una cueva con unas runas y símbolos extraños que lo traslada a nuestra era gracias a la magia de un hechicero malvado

¿Qué sucede?
Mongrel llega a nuestra era, en un bosque y se tropieza con un vagabundo llamado Joe Cobb, quien le ayuda a curar su herida, el detalle es que ambos hablan idiomas muy diferentes y no se entienden mucho.
Mongrel sabe que debe esperar en la misma cueva donde apareció para que el portal lo regrese a su hogar para sepultar a su familia.
Mongrel y Cobb se dirigen a la ciudad a buscar más alimento y sustento en un comedor social, los rascacielos, la tecnología, los semáforos, todo deja Mongrel atónito.
Trama
Mongrel sabe que debe esperar en la misma cueva donde apareció para que el portal lo regrese a su hogar para sepultar a su familia.

Jeff Lemire presenta una trama con la que te identificas, la interacción entre Mongrel y Cobb se siente natural y real,detalles como la diferencia de idiomas hace perfecta la narración.
Arte
En esta entrega Mike Deodato Jr. se separa un poco de la acción para deleitarnos con un arte dramático, donde las expresiones fáciles describen mucho. Se supera de nuevo este ilustrador.
Resumen:
Mongrel y Cobb empiezan a desarrollar un vínculo personal interesante y creíble, mientras averiguan la razón de este viaje en el tiempo.

Berserker Unbound is the new comic by Mike Deodato Jr. and Jeff Lemire! A warrior travels centuries in the future to our time, a series that mixes action, magic and drama. This is Deodato's first comic after retiring from Marvel Comics after 24 years of career.
