What does it come from?
ESCAPE…INTO DANGER! LOGAN steps from the X-MEN...but awaiting under the glitz and glamour of MIAMI is a simmering criminal underworld, and a crucible that will bring out the warrior, the mutant--the Wolverine! Writer-Artist DAN PANOSIAN takes the reins of Wolverine, steering him into an all-new, can't miss, auteur-driven adventure, where "paradise" ain't exactly what you'd expect. Guest-starring DAZZLER, the heat is on, and will only cook hotter from here on out, so don't miss the launch of this all-new series!
Plot
It’s the 1980s. Wolverine is grieving the loss of Jean (following the Phoenix Saga) and decides to get as far away from the X-Mansion as possible—Miami feels like the complete opposite.
During his motorcycle journey, he encounters Miami’s criminal underworld and takes them down. He even ends up at an ice cream stand, where he happens to run into Dazzler, who is skating by, carefree.
Dazzler mentions to Wolverine that she has a musical performance at a nightclub and might need his help.
Intrigued by the invitation, Wolverine decides to head to the club. To his surprise, he finds himself enjoying Dazzler’s musical act—and soon realizes why she needed his help: Hammerhead is there, which spells trouble. When Hammerhead attacks Wolverine, someone steps in to protect him—a mutant who, it turns out, is a huge fan of Wolverine.
This comic captures the aesthetic of 80s action movies, blending organized crime with the world of mutants.
Art
The art is mind-blowingly hypnotic; every panel is a visual delight, ranging from the raw aggression of Wolverine to the sensuality of Dazzler. The body language is spectacular.
Summary
Wolverine sets out to leave his past behind and stop being "the best there is at what he does," but Miami turns out to be the epicenter of various mutant-related troubles.
