REVIEW IN ENGLISH:

Where it comes from?
Welcome to Altered States...Dynamite Entertainment's parallel reality in the vein of DC's Elseworlds and Marvel's What If!

What if John Carter wasn't the first human from Earth to visit Mars? The eternal warrior finds a planet much changed since the arrival of Red Sonja millennia earlier...and he must unravel the secret of what happened to her if he's to have any hope of saving Barsoom from the nefarious plans of the Holy Therns and their death cult.

Writer David Avallone (Elvira, Savage Tales) is joined by rising star Mariano Benitez-Chapo (Vampirella, Elvira, Savage Tales), cover artists Joseph Michael Linsner, Mike Rooth, and Chapo, and a stunning cosplay cover by Jackie Goehner! Plus: Mike Rooth and Chapo each have created a stunning series of connecting covers for this series!

Plot
This story begins in Arizona, USA, in 1866, when John Carter enters a mysterious cave and is transported to Barsoom on the planet Mars, where his physical abilities are enhanced by the difference in gravity and planetary atmosphere.

John Carter quickly becomes a warrior and leader of the Jeddak army and even rescues the beautiful Princess Dejah Thoris.

But since arriving, John has heard that the second Jassomian—the first being Red Sonja—has been trapped for centuries like a stone sculpture. Her actions centuries ago make her the savior of all (Read ALTERED STATES: WARLORDS #1).

The Thern Alliance launches an attack with advanced spacecraft technology, which John barely manages to counter. Everyone knows they are at a disadvantage, so John becomes convinced that he must free Red Sonja so she can explain what that threat was centuries ago. He succeeds, but she is left unconscious, weakened from so many years of captivity.

The comic concludes with another important character from the Edgar Rice Burroughs universe: Lord Greystoke, Tarzan, who is on an expedition to Persia in 1913 and acquires an ancient artifact, only to be attacked by otherworldly apes.

This exciting crossover seamlessly blends the Dynamite universe with that of Edgar Rice Burroughs, revealing an intriguing and dangerous mystery.

Artwork
The artwork is detailed, conveying John's dynamic body language and heroic attitude, while simultaneously blending otherworldly architecture and technology—a well-balanced fusion of science fiction and fantasy.

REVIEW IN ENGLISH

Variant cover art by Joseph Linsner

Dejah Thoris is the princess of the empire-martian city-state / Helium in the Edgar Rice Burroughs (Tarzan) series of Martian novels.

What does it come from?
In Dejah Thoris # 7 Dejah Thoris arrives in Arizona USA in 1945 and finds a military base where she is arrested by Major Harington who begins to interrogate her.

Dejah begins to develop fatigue since on Earth gravity is greater as well as the atmosphere is denser, that is why John Carter when he arrived on Mars developed those super powers.

Llana, Morokh's head and Private Jefersson Clyde rescue her and head to New York to meet with someone who can help them stop this conspiracy.

What's going on?
Dejah and Morokh enter a movie theater in Pennsylvania to keep a low profile while Llana and Jefersson steal another car to continue their journey, however they are chased by FBI agents who catch up with them.

Jefersson, Dejah Thoris and Morokh fight with the agents and instantly a contingent of the army appears and Llana shows how powerful she is. The entrance of Llana is epic, magnificent sequence.

They narrowly manage to get away and finally arrive in New York to interview Edgar Rice Burroughs (great cameo) who might have the answers to Dejah Thoris' questions.

Art and Plot
This new story arc is full of mystery, action and historical references, without a doubt it is a story that breaks with the common elements of the Dejah Thoris comics.

Summary
Abnett and Piriz manage to amaze and increase the mystery in this second chapter of this new story arc.
