¿De Que viene?

La investigadora Sarah Jewell (Rise of the Black Flame, Witchfinder: The Reign of Darkness) obtiene su propia serie en este misterio de asesinato con un toque ocultismo.

Un misterioso de asesinato en una habitación cerrada desconcierta a la detective paranormal Sarah Jewell y a su socia Marie Therese cuando un viaje de fin de semana a una isla privada frente a la costa de Washington se complica. Atrapada por una tormenta y rodeado de una miríada de sospechosos que se han reunido para una subasta de artículos ocultos, el intrépido dúo debe desentrañar los misterios sobrenaturales que rodean a los invitados con la esperanza de descubrir al asesino. Pero todo el tiempo, los cuerpos se siguen amontonando, ¡y en cualquier momento Sarah o Marie Therese podrían ser las siguientes!

Trama

En 1926 Sarah Jewell y a su socia Marie Therese llegan a la isla privada en medio de una tormenta implacable, el barco que las dejo no las podrá buscar solo después de la tormenta, pero apenas llegan Lilian, la amiga de Sarah le advierte que asesinaron al abogado Severin.

En esta casa se va a llevar a cabo una subasta de los objetos ocultos del fallecido esposo de Lilian, Arlen Q Whelstone. Lilian debe vender esta misteriosa colección porque Arlen le dejó muchas deudas intentando aumentar la misma.

Sarah y Marie Therese empiezan a averiguar y conocen a todos los compradores interesados en los artículos

El asesinato de Severin es extraño porque siempre cerraba la puerta de su estudio con llave y solo la mucama tenia la otra llave y cuando lo descubren, la puerta estaba cerrada por dentro.

Pero todo se complica cuando Konrad Eckhart, un comprador Aleman lo descubren intentando entrar a la bóveda de los artículos para luego descubrirlo muerto rodeado de velas en un pentagrama.

Este primer capítulo está lleno de mucho misterio y pistas de que los artículos que quieren subastar tienen un poder oculto

Arte

El arte proporciona la atmósfera perfecta de esa cercana a la primera guerra mundial, las vestimentas, todo aparte de proporcionar un gran apoyo al suspenso de la trama.

Resumen

Sarah se enfrenta a un misterioso asesino que parece conocer todo. Genial primera entrega de la investigación de misterioso asesinato.

A locked-room murder mystery puzzles paranormal detective Sarah Jewell and her associate Marie Therese when a weekend trip on a private island off the coast of Washington goes astray. Trapped by a storm and surrounded by myriad suspects who have gathered for an auction of occult items, the intrepid duo must unravel the supernatural mysteries surrounding the guests in hopes of uncovering the murderer! But all the while, bodies keep piling up, and at any moment Sarah or Marie Therese could be next!

Mike Mignola and Chris Roberson return to the world of Hellboy, accompanied by artist Leila del Duca and colorist Michelle Madsen.

Plot

In 1926 Sarah Jewell and her partner Marie Therese arrive on the private island in the middle of a relentless storm, the ship that left them will not be able to search for them alone after the storm, but as soon as Sarah arrives, Lillian, her friend warns her that somebody murdered the attorney Severin.

In this house an auction of the hidden objects of Lilian's late husband, Arlen Q Whelstone, is going to take place. Lilian must sell this mysterious collection because Arlen left her many debts trying to increase it.

Sarah and Marie Therese begin to inquire and meet all buyers interested in the items

Severin's murder is strange because he always locked his study door and only the maid had the other key and when they discovered him, the door was locked from the inside.

But everything gets complicated when Konrad Eckhart, a German buyer, is discovered trying to enter the vault of the articles to later be found dead surrounded by candles on a pentagram.

This first chapter is full of mystery and clues that the items you want to auction have a hidden power

Art

The art provides the perfect atmosphere of that close to the first world war, the costumes, all apart from providing great support to the suspense of the plot.
