Trama

Esta entrega narra el origen de la Espada Soler y su importancia en la alianza de Thundarr, Princesa Ariel y Ookla.

La Espada Solar fue una ofrenda de la Gente Cerdo a Lord Sabian, pero este hechicero no la pudo activar y la desecho, Ariel la toma.

Thundarr y Ookla aun encerrados son visitados por Ariel, la princesa e hija del temible Lord Sabian, ella le revela que en sus sueños los ve a los tres haciendo equipo para detener a su padre, ella le entrega la Espada Solar a Thundarr, que no está seguro de formar esta alianza, sin embargo ambos han compartido las mismas visiones en sus sueños.

Lord Sabian descubre la traición de Ariel y la lanza con Thundarr y a Ookla a enfrentarse a un monstruo en la arena, pero Thundarr activa la Espada Solar y lo hiere, Lord Sabian está malherido pero se desvanece. Ariel tiene una premonición de lo que va a hacer su padre en 1994. La Espada Solar ayuda a liberar a todos los esclavos de Sabian.

Este cómic sigue mezclando ciencia ficción, con fantasía en un ambiente distópico, que toma en serio la premisa original que Hanna-Barbera con Ruby-Spears plasmó en la serie animada original en la década de 1980.

Arte

Kewer captura esa mezcla de barbarie con ciencia ficción perfecta en cada uno de sus paneles y creando a la vez una atmósfera de misterio.

Plot

This installment tells the origin of the SunSword and its importance in the alliance between Thundarr, Princess Ariel, and Ookla.

The SunSword was an offering from the Pig People to Lord Sabian, but the sorcerer was unable to activate it and discarded it. Ariel takes it. 

Thundarr and Ookla, still imprisoned, are visited by Ariel, the princess and daughter of the fearsome Lord Sabian. She reveals that in her dreams she sees the three of them teaming up to stop her father. She gives the SunSword to Thundarr, who is hesitant to form this alliance, though they have both shared the same visions in their dreams.

Lord Sabian discovers Ariel's betrayal and sends her, Thundarr, and Ookla to face a monster in the arena. However, Thundarr activates the SunSword and wounds him. Lord Sabian is badly injured but then vanishes. Ariel has a premonition of what her father will do in 1994. The SunSword helps free all of Sabian's slaves.

This comic continues to blend science fiction with fantasy in a dystopian setting, taking seriously the original premise that Hanna-Barbera and Ruby Spears established in the original animated series in the 1980s.

Artwork

Kewer perfectly captures that blend of barbarism and science fiction in every panel, creating an atmosphere of mystery.
