AWA (Artists, Writers, Artisans), el negocio creativo que desarrolla historias originales innovadoras donde los creadores son los dueños (creator owned) en publicaciones, películas, televisión y NFT, anunció hoy que la nueva serie de cómics de superhéroes Latinx, PRIMOS debutará el 2 de febrero de 2022 en español e inglés (fecha de solicitud: 19 de noviembre de 2021). PRIMOS trae juntos tres primos lejanos, unidos por su antiguo linaje maya espacial al histórico rey Janaab, con un propósito profundamente especial: salvar el mundo tal como lo conocemos. Son los "Primos" y son la última esperanza de la Tierra.

“Al y yo hemos querido trabajar juntos en un proyecto durante algún tiempo en el que podríamos compartir nuestra herencia mexicana con una amplia audiencia y crear los mejores héroes latinos para el siglo XXI. PRIMOS son los Guardianes de la Galaxia Latinx; se pelean entre sí, se reúnen como un equipo y, en última instancia, salvan el universo ”, dijo Axel Alonso, director creativo de AWA.
"La falta de representación mexicana en el género de superhéroes es sorprendente por decir lo menos. Todos, incluidos los latinos, deberían poder ver versiones heroicas pero imperfectas de sí mismos representadas en los medios", dijo Madrigal. ¡Los héroes latinx definitivos del siglo XXI están aquí! Hace siglos, dos hermanos mayas construyeron una nave espacial que los envió a toda velocidad al espacio exterior. Al regresar a la Tierra solo para encontrar su cultura y civilización destruidas, uno de los hermanos jura venganza y busca diezmar el planeta con la tecnología intergaláctica reunida en sus viajes. Para evitar esto, su hermano crea un plan de contingencia que activa a los protectores del mundo: tres descendientes de su propia familia a quienes se les ha otorgado un gran poder. From the mind of renowned Latinx comedian, actor, writer and producer Al Madrigal (The Daily Show, Morbius, Night School) and artist Carlo Barberi (Deadpool, X-Men: Milestones, Avengers No Road Home, Spider-Geddon), PRIMOS brings together three distant cousins, bound by their ancient spacefaring Mayan lineage to the historical King Janaab, with a profoundly special purpose: to save the world as we know it. They are the “Primos,” and they are Earth’s last hope.

Former Senior Latino Correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Al Madrigal has made a name for himself as a stand-up comic, actor, writer, producer and entrepreneur. He starred in the movie Night School with Kevin Hart, The Way Back with Ben Affleck and can soon be seen in the upcoming Morbius for Sony alongside Jared Leto being released on January 28th. On TV, Madrigal was a series regular and writer on Showtime’s I'm Dying Here and wore three hats as a writer, actor, and producer on the CBS show Broke.
