Como parte de la serie Marvel's Voices en curso de Marvel, los lectores de todo el mundo pronto conocerán ESCAPADE en MARVEL'S VOICES: PRIDE #1. 

Uniéndose a otros héroes LGBTQIA+ de Marvel este junio, Escapade debutará en la historia central del libro, escrita por el aclamado autor Charlie Jane Anders y dibujada por el dúo de artistas y dibujantes nominados a Eisner Ro Stein y Ted Brandt, con colores de Tamra Bonvillain.

Escapade, cuyo verdadero nombre es Shela Sexton, es una transmutante que puede cambiar instantáneamente de ubicación física con otra persona o intercambiar cualquier atributo físico o abstracto específico, como posesiones, estado organizacional, habilidades, poderes sobrehumanos e incluso situaciones. Escapade solo puede mantener la energía durante unas pocas horas seguidas y debe estar a 7 pies (2 metros) de su objetivo, y cuanto más complejo sea el cambio, mayor será la posibilidad de un percance. 

Afortunadamente para Escapade, tiene un socio invaluable a su lado, su mejor amigo experto en tecnología Morgan Red, junto con un cinturón de herramientas que contiene un arsenal de herramientas y dispositivos. Juntos, Escapade y Morgan recorren el Universo Marvel como ladrones profesionales, robando a organizaciones criminales y corruptas... hasta que un encuentro con Emma Frost y Destiny cambia el curso de la vida de Escapade para siempre.

"He amado el Universo Marvel desde que tengo memoria, y puedo o no cantar el tema de dibujos animados de Spider-Man en la ducha de forma regular. Así que estaba muy emocionado de poder presentar un nuevo héroe. para estar junto a todos mis favoritos ", dijo Anders. This June, meet ESCAPADE, Marvel’s newest mutant super hero in a MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE story by Charlie Jane Anders, Ted Brandt, Ro Stein, and Tamra Bonvillain

New York, NY— May 11, 2022 — As part of Marvel’s ongoing Marvel’s Voices series, readers everywhere will soon meet ESCAPADE in MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE #1! Joining fellow LGBTQIA+ Marvel heroes this June, Escapade will debut in the book’s central story, written by acclaimed author Charlie Jane Anders and drawn by artist duo and Eisner-nominated cartoonists Ro Stein and Ted Brandt, with colors by Tamra Bonvillain.

Escapade, whose real name is Shela Sexton, is a trans mutant who can instantaneously switch physical locations with another person or trade any specific physical or abstract attribute such as possessions, organizational status, skills, superhuman powers, and even situations! Escapade is only able to maintain the power for a few hours at a time and must be within 7 feet of her target, and the more complex the switch, the higher the chance of a mishap. Luckily for Escapade, she has an invaluable partner at her side, her tech-savvy best friend Morgan Red, along with a tool belt containing an arsenal of stolen tools and devices. Together, Escapade and Morgan tear through the Marvel Universe as professional thieves, stealing from criminal and corrupt organizations…until a meeting with Emma Frost and Destiny changes the course of Escapade’s life forever.

"I have loved the Marvel Universe for as long as I can remember, and may or may not sing the Spider-Man cartoon theme in the shower on a regular basis. So I was so thrilled to be able to introduce a brand-new hero to stand alongside all of my favorites,” Anders said. “I hope that Escapade and Morgan Red will inspire trans and non-binary people everywhere to believe that they, too, can fight for justice with the power of creativity and chosen family."

“Now more than ever, we need a hero like Shela Sexton for people to look up to,” Brandt explained. “It was a real honor and a privilege to be a part of her creation process!”

The 20-page adventure in MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE #1 will introduce Escapade and reveal her career as a super hero/thief, as well as explore her life as a trans mutant in the Marvel Universe. MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE #1 only marks the beginning of Escapade’s saga as she becomes entangled with the X-Men and a deadly prophecy is unveiled in her future. Fans can look forward to Escapade’s return in the fall in a special story arc of NEW MUTANTS guest-written by Anders.
