Ghost Machine Productions lanza ROOK EXODUS un nuevo universo de personajes que fue introducido en GHOST MACHINE #1 ONE-SHOT (2024), del escritor Geoff Johns, el artista Jason Fabok, que forma parte del universo de ciencia ficción llamada ROOK EXODUS.

¿De qué viene?

¡El exitoso libro de 2024 continúa! ¡La conclusión épica de este primer capítulo! Rook contra Ursaw en una batalla en la que el ganador se lleva todo, mientras el destino del planeta Exodus (y de todos los que lo habitan) pende de un hilo. Además: ¿Quién es Ursaw? ¿Y qué es lo que realmente quiere de Exodus?

Trama

Rook va con todo lo que tiene a detener a Ursaw, por eso lanza un ataque ayudado por sus cuervos, que le permite acceder a la inmensa excavadora donde está cautiva Dire Wolf y Carapace.

Ursaw le aclara a Dire Wolf que él llegó para ubicar a todos los Guardianes (Wardens) y robar sus cascos, en especial va por uno clave, llamado CANIX FEROX, que es el padre de Dire Wolf, que ella dijo que estaba muerto porque enloqueció. Canix Ferox, tambien llamado BLOODHOUND, es aparentemente único capaz de arreglar THE WORLD ENGINE, el sistema que terraformó a Exodus pero que ahora está misteriosamente dañado.

Rook sorprende a Ursaw y los dos tienen una batalla brutal, donde Ursaw lo supera físicamente y le quita el casco, pero Rook está conectado con sus cuervos aun sin el casco y estos hacen que Ursaw pierda el equilibrio y se caiga de una gran altura. El cuervo que lidera el ataque pierde un ojo y ahora Rook lo tiene en su hombre y lo llama Poe.

Rook está completamente conectado con sus animales y logra la paz consigo mismo y con la trágica muerte de su padre.

Los cacos de Carapace como Ursaw, se fusionaron con su cara, es decir, ya no tienen rostro y quitarselos podría matarlos, por eso no saben la identidad de Ursaw. Carapace descubre que Ursaw llegó hace solo dos meses a Exodus, enviado por la corporación Better World, la encargada de terraformar Exodus y llevar a toda esa gente a ese planeta, ellos al parecer enviaron a este mercenario para que se llevara toda la tecnología del control de la fauna para usarla en otro planeta.

Rook tiene dos objetivos claros:

-Buscar usando la Red a todos los Wardens de Exodus y verificar si los cascos los usan personas buenas que se interesan por los animales y por Exodus.

-Buscar a Canix Ferox para que los ayude a arreglar el World Engine, claro esta, si logran que vuelva a sus cabales.

Esta serie es alucinante y cierra su primer arco con revelaciones y una dosis hermosa de esperanza, esta mezcla de John Carter From Mars con Jurassic Park en escalas épicas y bíblicas mejora con cada entrega y nos deja con ganas de más.

Arte

Jason Fabok ofrece su arte tan detallado donde todo tiene lógica, recreando mundos nuevos con tecnología futurista y haciéndolo creíble, cada página hipnotiza y da escalofríos, juega con las escalas de todo este mundo con una visión cinematográfica. Logra ilustrar unas páginas splash alucinantes e hipnotizantes, que apoyadas por los colores perfectamente adecuados de Brad Anderson.

Resumen

Este es el impactante cierre del primer arco argumental, donde Rook, Dire Wolf y Carapace tienen la esperanza de salvar a Exodus.

El próximo arco argumental llega en 2025 y casi no soportaremos la espera

What does it come from?

The breakout hit book of 2024 continues! The epic conclusion of this first chapter! It’s Rook versus Ursaw in a winner-takes-all gambit, as the fate of the planet Exodus—and all who inhabit it—hangs in the balance. Plus: Who is Ursaw? And what does he really want from Exodus?

Plot

Rook goes all out to stop Ursaw, so he launches an attack aided by his crows, which allows him to access the huge excavator where Dire Wolf and Carapace are being held captive.

Ursaw explains to Dire Wolf that he came to locate all the Wardens and steal their helmets, especially after a key one, called CANIX FEROX, who is Dire Wolf's father, who she said was dead because he went mad. Canix Ferox, also called BLOODHOUND, is apparently the only one capable of fixing THE WORLD ENGINE, the system that terraformed Exodus but is now mysteriously damaged.

Rook surprises Ursaw and the two have a brutal battle, where Ursaw physically overwhelms him and takes off his helmet, but Rook is connected to his crows even without the helmet and they make Ursaw lose her balance and fall from a great height. The raven leading the attack loses an eye and now Rook has it on his shoulder and calls it Poe.

Rook is completely connected to his animals and achieves peace with himself and with the tragic death of his father.

Carapace's thieves like Ursaw, have merged with his face, meaning they no longer have a face and removing them could kill them, which is why they don't know Ursaw's identity. Carapace discovers that Ursaw arrived to Exodus just two months ago, sent by the Better World corporation, the one in charge of terraforming Exodus and taking all those people to that planet. They apparently sent this mercenary to take all the wildlife control technology to use on another planet.

Rook has two clear objectives:

-Search using the Network for all the Wardens of Exodus and verify if the helmets are used by good people who care about animals and Exodus.

-Find Canix Ferox to help them fix the World Engine, of course, if they can get him back to his senses.

This series is mind-blowing and closes its first arc with revelations and a beautiful dose of hope, this mix of John Carter From Mars with Jurassic Park on epic and biblical scales improves with each installment and leaves us wanting more.

Art

Jason Fabok offers his very detailed art where everything makes sense, recreating new worlds with futuristic technology and making it credible, each page hypnotizes and gives chills, playing with the scales of this whole world with a cinematic vision. He manages to illustrate some mind-blowing and mesmerizing splash pages, supported by Brad Anderson's perfectly appropriate colors.

Summary

This is the shocking closing of the first story arc comes with revelations, where Rook, Dire Wolf and Carapace hope to save Exodus.

The next story arc arrives in 2025 and we can hardly wait
