A partir de febrero, ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM se apodera del Universo Marvel, y la primera de sus muchas series relacionadas acaba de anunciarse en el panel Women of Marvel en la Comic Con de Nueva York: ¡DOOM ACADEMY!
DOOM ACADEMY será una serie limitada de cinco números escrita por la autora Mackenzie Cadenhead (Marvel Mutts) y dibujada por Pasqual Ferry (Doctor Strange) que ve la escuela de Doctor Strange para jóvenes hechiceros transformada de acuerdo con las reglas de Doom.

Los estudiantes de Strange Academy fueron fundamentales en el audaz intento de Doom de alcanzar el poder en Blood Hunt, y ahora que tiene al mundo entero bajo su poderoso control, su influencia en estos jóvenes héroes de Marvel realmente comienza.
SINOPSIS
¿Pensabas que Strange Academy sería lo mismo en el mundo con el Doctor Doom como Hechicero Supremo? ¡NO! ¡Ahora es DOOM ACADEMY! Trasladada de Nueva Orleans a Latveria, la mejor escuela de magia del mundo acaba de mejorar (según algunos). Es el comienzo del segundo año para los estudiantes de Strange Academy, ¡y sabes que las cosas no saldrán como lo planeado!

"Fue muy divertido repasar las viejas historias de Doom y elegir algunos personajes aleatorios que existen en ese mundo y encontrar a alguien o al hijo de alguien que podría asistir a Doom Academy", compartió Cadenhead. "Y como la escuela no existe, pudimos jugar realmente con las cosas. Pasqual se lo está pasando genial creando hermosos lugares".
DOOM ACADEMY también contará con secuencias del artista João Lemos.
“En esta historia, Zoe termina cayendo en un mundo extraño del que sus amigos tienen que ayudarla a escapar”, explicó Cadenhead. “Tenemos otro artista que viene a ilustrar este mundo. La investigación de João Lemos sobre el folclore y los cuentos de hadas de Europa del Este es asombrosa”.
Anunciado a principios de esta semana, ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM es un cambio radical del status quo que llega a Marvel Comics, algo que no se ha visto desde Dark Reign de 2008. Partiendo de Blood Hunt, donde el Doctor Doom manipuló al Doctor Strange para que le pasara el manto de Hechicero Supremo, ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM ve a Doom lograr su objetivo final al usar su nuevo poder para apoderarse del mundo entero. Es un giro de los acontecimientos impactante y trascendental que afectará a toda la línea de cómics de Marvel y verá el lanzamiento de series vinculadas y one-shots, ¡formando colectivamente una era digna del mayor supervillano de los cómics!

MARVEL COMICS REVEALS ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM TIE-IN SERIES, DOOM ACADEMY, AT NEW YORK COMIC CON!
Mackenzie Cadenhead and Pasqual Ferry’s DOOM ACADEMY launches in February.
New York, NY— October 20, 2024 — Starting in February, ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM overtakes the Marvel Universe, and the first of its many tie-in series was just announced at the Women of Marvel Panel at New York Comic Con: DOOM ACADEMY!
DOOM ACADEMY will be a five-issue limited series written by author Mackenzie Cadenhead (Marvel Mutts) and drawn by Pasqual Ferry (Doctor Strange) that sees Doctor Strange’s school for young sorcerers transformed in accordance with Doom’s rule! The students of Strange Academy were instrumental in Doom’s bold reach for power in Blood Hunt, and now that he has the entire world under his mighty thumb, his influence on these breakout young Marvel heroes truly begins.
Did you think that Strange Academy would be the same in the world with Doctor Doom as Sorcerer Supreme?! NO! It is now DOOM ACADEMY! Relocated from New Orleans to Latveria, the best magic school in the world just got better (according to some). It’s the start of the second year for Strange Academy students, and you know that things will not go as planned!
“It was really fun to go through old Doom stories and pick out some random characters that exist in that world and find someone or someone’s kid who might be attending Doom Academy,” Cadenhead shared. “And because the school doesn’t exist, we got to really play with stuff. Pasqual is having a great time coming up with beautiful locales.”
DOOM ACADEMY will also feature sequences by artist João Lemos.
“In this story, Zoe ends up falling into a strange world that her friends have to help her escape from,” Cadenhead explained. “We have another artist come in to illustrate this world. João Lemos’ research on Eastern European folklore and fairytales is astounding.”
Announced earlier this week, ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM is an overarching status quo shift coming to Marvel Comics, the likes of which haven’t been seen since 2008’s Dark Reign. Spinning out of Blood Hunt where Doctor Doom manipulated Doctor Strange into passing him the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme, ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM sees Doom accomplish his ultimate goal as he uses his new power to take over the entire world. It’s a shocking and upending turn of events that will impact Marvel’s entire line of comics and see the launch of tie-in series and one-shots, collectively forming an era worthy of comic books’ greatest supervillain!
