WHILCE PORTACIO REGRESA A MARVEL CON NUEVAS PORTADAS VARIANTES DE IRON MAN

 

En la nueva serie de IRON MAN del periodista ganador del premio Pulitzer Spencer Ackerman y el aclamado artista Julius Ohta, Tony Stark debe reconstruir su armadura después de que Roxxon corrompe místicamente todo su inventario. A lo largo de la serie, Tony se ensuciará las manos armando un nuevo traje, retocándolo y mejorándolo a medida que avanza la serie. 

Para inspirarse, Ackerman y Ohta recurrieron al trabajo inventivo del legendario artista While Portacio sobre el personaje en los años 90. Para marcar su impacto, Portacio también adornará la serie con portadas variantes en IRON MAN #3-5.

La primera portada de Portacio muestra la destrucción de la icónica armadura de Tony, “Heroes Reborn”, que fue diseñada por Portacio y utilizada durante toda su carrera. Luego, Tony se pone a trabajar en su nueva “Armadura Improvisada” en la segunda portada del artista antes de encenderla por primera vez en la pieza final de la serie de Portacio. Coloreadas por el colorista de la serie Alex Sinclair, el trío de portadas destaca la forma característica en que Portacio lleva el funcionamiento interno de la tecnología y la artesanía de Tony a la página.

WHILCE PORTACIO RETURNS TO THE ARMORED AVENGER IN NEW IRON MAN VARIANT COVERS

Influential Iron Man artist Whilce Portacio will do a series of variant covers for Spencer Ackerman, Julius Ohta, and Javier Pina’s IRON MAN, starting in December with IRON MAN #3.

                                                                                                                            

New York, NY— December 2, 2024 — In Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Spencer Ackerman and acclaimed artist Julius Ohta’s new run of IRON MAN, Tony Stark must rebuild his armor after his entire inventory is mystically corrupted by Roxxon! Over the course of the series, Tony will get his hands dirty assembling a new suit, tinkering and upgrading it as the series progresses. For inspiration, Ackerman and Ohta looked to legendary artist While Portacio’s inventive work on the character in the ‘90s. To mark his impact, Portacio will also grace the series with variant covers on IRON MAN #3-5.

 

Portacio’s first cover depicts the destruction of Tony’s iconic “Heroes Reborn” armor, which was designed by Portacio and used throughout his run. Then, Tony gets to work on his new “Improvised Armor” in the artist’s second cover before powering it up for the first time on the final piece in Portacio’s series. Colored by series colorist Alex Sinclair, the trio of covers spotlight the signature way Portacio brings the inner workings of Tony’s technology and craftsmanship to the page.

 

"Whilce Portacio is one of the most unique and visually dynamic artists in the history of comics,” Ackerman said. “Even before we learned we'd be blessed with Whilce's variant covers, Julius and I talked about how we could incorporate the tangle of cables that Whilce used to show how powerful the Heroes Reborn-era Iron Man suit was. You'll see Julius directly homage Whilce's legendary design in our third issue."

Whilce Portacio and Brian Haberlin kick off a two-part X-MEN LEGENDS arc this January that reveals new insights into Bishop’s original mission

 

New York, NY— October 14, 2022 — The year was 1991, and the X-Men were at the forefront of their incredible 90s heyday. Enter Lucas Bishop! Created by Whilce Portacio and John Byrne along with Portacio's longtime friend, artist Karl Altstaetter, Bishop burst onto the scene from the far future and infused the mutant mythos with his explosive no-nonsense attitude and the riveting mystery that drove him. The energy-absorbing mutant soldier has been a central figure in X-Men storytelling ever since, and this January, fans will travel back in time to his groundbreaking comics debut in X-MEN LEGENDS #5-6. The saga will be written and drawn by Portacio himself along with prolific comics writer Brian Haberlin.
