RESEÑA EN ESPAÑOL/INGLÉS DE "REDCOAT #20" CON SPOILERS Y ADELANTO

Ghost Machine Productions lanza REDCOAT un nuevo personaje que lo conocimos en los dos especiales GEIGER 80-PAGE GIANT #1 (2022) y GHOST MACHINE #1 ONE-SHOT (2024), del escritor Geoff Johns, el artista Bryan Hitch, que narra las aventuras de un casi héroe de guerra que forma parte del universo de los UNNAMED que incluye a Geiger y Junkyard Joe.

¿De qué viene?

FIN DEL ARCO ARGUMENTAL “1909”, Final. La sangrienta conclusión de la historia de la que Simon Pure no quiere hablar termina en sangre. Mucha sangre. Dos inmortales, Simon y Benedict Arnold, luchan por acabar el uno con el otro. ¡Y descubriremos de primera mano si un inmortal puede morir de verdad!

Trama

Simon en un ataque de ira ataca a Benedict con todas su fuerza, cada ataque le ocasiona heridas letales, pero Benedict se recupera como lo haría Simon, aun cuando Benedict tiene el Hacha de las Mentiras, no es rival para los ataques de Simon Pure.

Benedict hizo toda esta trampa con el único objetivo de burlarse de Simon y hacerle daño, quitarle todo, esto es su venganza final.

Einstein es testigo de esta pelea y casi es herido por Benedict, pero Simon lo salva y traslada la pelea  una casa en construcción, donde lanza el hacha y a Benedict a unas bases de concreto para que queden sepultados de por vida.

Simon desconsolado se lleva un martillo y asesina a sangre fría con los supuestos integrantes de la secta de los Padres Fundadores, quienes eran actores pagados por Benedict, Simon elimina uno a uno y con el último se lanza del edificio para matarlo e intentar suicidarse, no lo logra pero queda muy herido.

Doloroso cierre de este arco, donde Simón pierde a su familia y única razón de vivir, aun cuando no puede morir.

Arte

Bryan Hitch ofrece su visión cinematográfica, dónde dirige secuencias de acción hipnotizantes y captura los detalles y tonos de cada época de antaño. Los colores crean la atmósfera perfecta que te transporta a principios del siglo XX.

Tiene un manejo de las escalas hipnotizante, transporta y te sacude con visiones realistas impactantes en un formato muy parecido al cinematográfico.

Resumen

Simon es víctima de la venganza cruel e inhumana de Benedict y se dispone a hacerlo pagar.

Impactante cierre de este desconcertante arco argumental

What does it come from?

END OF STORY ARC “1909,” Finale The bloody conclusion to the story Simon Pure won’t talk about ends in blood. Lots of it. Two immortals—Simon and Benedict Arnold battle to end each other. And we’ll learn first-hand if an immortal can truly die!

Plot

In a fit of rage, Simon attacks Benedict with all his might. Each blow inflicts lethal wounds, but Benedict recovers as easily as Simon would. Even with the Axe of Lies, Benedict is no match for Simon Pure's attacks.

Benedict orchestrated this entire scheme with the sole purpose of mocking Simon and hurting him, taking everything from him. This is his final revenge.

Einstein witnesses this fight and is nearly injured by Benedict, but Simon saves him and moves the fight to a house under construction. There, he throws the axe and Benedict onto concrete foundations, burying them for life.

Distraught, Simon takes a hammer and coldly murders the supposed members of the Founding Fathers sect, who were actors paid by Benedict. Simon eliminates them one by one, and with the last one, he leaps from the building to kill him and attempt suicide. He fails but is left severely wounded.

A heartbreaking end to this arc, where Simon loses his family and his only reason for living, even though he cannot die.

Art

Bryan Hitch offers his cinematic vision, directing mesmerizing action sequences and capturing the details and tones of each bygone era. The colors create the perfect atmosphere that transports you to the early 20th century.

His masterful use of scale is mesmerizing; he transports and shakes you with striking, realistic visions in a format very similar to film.

Summary

Simon is the victim of Benedict's cruel and inhuman revenge and sets out to make him pay. A shocking conclusion to this perplexing story arc
