En Red Sonja #1 se Sonja regresa a Hyrkania luego de haber servido como guerrera del maestro de la guerra, Domo de Khitai, al fallecer este ella escapa de este imperio caído para volver a su hogar. Al llegar a Hyrkania los sabios la eligen como la nueva reina, casualmente para enfrentar la invasión de Dragan de El Magnifico.

¿Qué sucede?
El Emperador Dragan está listo para la guerra, con un ejército poderoso y muchos recursos técnicos y económicos. Mientras Hyrkania está en la quiebra y no tiene un ejército conformado, el único oro que tiene la nación es la llave que abre las puertas donde lo guardaban.
Un encuentro entre Red Sonja y Dragan pone la situación más tensa, donde ambos está determinados a demostrar quién es el más fuerte.
Sin duda el arte de este cómic sube de nivel y la historia se centra únicamente en la preparación de la guerra por parte de Sonja.

Red Sonja está un paso adelante de todos, su estrategia se basa en conocer las fortalezas de su gente, las últimas páginas de esta entrega son inesperadas.
Resumen
Sin duda Red Sonja fue la mejor elección como Reina de Hyrkania, posee todas las habilidades de una estrategia militar, este cómic demuestra esta astucia.

Undoubtedly the art of this comic levels up and the story focuses only on the preparation of the war by Sonja.
