Castigar a su esposo infiel tuvo un precio terrible. Por sus crímenes, a María se le negó el más allá; en su lugar, fue condenada a vagar por ríos y canales como La Llorona, la mujer llorosa, condenada a buscar eternamente a sus hijos perdidos... y a destruir a otros en el camino.
Pero ahora, la venganza toma una nueva forma.
Cuando María se encuentra con Akna Caneck, una feroz mujer moderna con sangre maya y un collar mágico vinculado a un poder ancestral, todo cambia. Unidas por el dolor, la rabia y el mundo espiritual, forjan una alianza inesperada.
Trama
Akna Caneck es una experta en mitología urbana y la entrevistan porque han ocurrido una serie de eventos extraños relacionados a ataques a inmigrantes latinos en la frontera de Texas que se lo adjudican a la LLORONA.
La LLORONA cuenta la historia de un alma en pena que perdió a sus hijos de manera trágica y los busca en nuevos nis en un llanto doloroso e interminable.
Akna no cree en en la mitologías hasta que es atrapada para trata de blancas y su dolor activa un medallón de la diosa Azteca de la maternidad y fertilidad que se comunica con la LLORONA, ese dolor hace que ambas trabajen en equipo.
Interesante historia muy relevante actualmente donde la historia de la LLORONA se convierte en una especie de justiciera. El análisis de la historia de importante personaje de las leyendas urbanas latinoamericana es brillante.

Plot
Akna Caneck is an expert in urban mythology, and she's being interviewed because a series of strange events have occurred related to attacks on Latino immigrants on the Texas border, attributed to La Llorona.
La Llorona tells the story of a tormented soul who tragically lost her children and searches for them in new places, her cries of pain and endless weeping.
Akna doesn't believe in mythologies until she's caught in a human trafficking ring, and her grief activates a medallion of the Aztec goddess of motherhood and fertility, which communicates with La Llorona. This shared pain leads them to work together.
This is an interesting and highly relevant story where the legend of La Llorona transforms into a kind of vigilante. The analysis of this important figure in Latin American urban legends is brilliant.
