Sinopsis:

Brandon Sampson, hijo de los dos superhéroes más poderosos de la historia, es su líder, un narcisista inmaduro que siempre se sintió a la sombra de su padre. Pero su hermana Chloe se negó a ceder y ahora lidera el movimiento de resistencia contra los superhéroes. Trama
El volumen 3 presenta a la primera generación de super-héroes dirigidos por Sheldon Sampson (Utopian) quien lleva más de setenta años salvando al planeta con la ayuda de su hermano Walter, sin embargo, sus hijos Chloe y Brandon no heredaron ese deseo altruista y preferían ser celebridades, Walter aprovechó esto para traicionar a Sheldon y hacer que Brandon lo asesinara. Walter y Brandon tomaron la Casa Blanca y se convirtieron en cruentos gobernadores que encerraron a todos los super-humanos de la tierra.
La secuencia de como eliminan a Utopian y a todos sus aliados es impactante.
Chloe y Hutch se esconden y tienen a su hijo llamado Jason. Jason es criado con todas las historias y proezas de su abuelo y se revela al mundo como el nuevo salvador en contra del sistema usando sus poderes, es la última esperanza.
En el volumen 4, Chloe, Hutch y Jason empiezan a reclutar a otros superhumanos que viven en la clandestinidad para liderar un ataque en contra de Walter y Brandon, incluyendo al padre de Hutch, Skyfox, quien por años fue visto como villano gracias a Walter.
Este volumen incluye nuevos superhumanos que cazan a Chloe, Hutch y Jason, pero también muestran lo poredos a que es Chloe. Aquí muestran la caída del imperio tiránico de Walter y Brandon. Los nuevos personajes Raikou y Repro son geniales.
Estos dos volúmenes cierra una era de la familia Sampson en el presente, dejando todo listo para una era futurista que revelará el origen de los poderes y lo que significa la Isla y Júpiter.

Arte
El arte de Frank Quitely es sumamente detallado, por lo que analizar cada panel es gratificante, es un genio en lo que hace, sus perspectivas y diseños son abrumantes, con esa textura de germen tan minucioso que es difícil no quedar hipnotizado. Es uno de los mejores artes en la industria del cómic.

Synopsis
Mark Millar and Frank Quitely’s comic-book masterpiece, a vast epic covering three generations of superheroes from the early 20th Century to the far future.
During the depths of the Great Depression, a mysterious island sent out a call to seven good-hearted people. They returned with fantastic powers and helped the United States through World War 2, The Cold War, and countless crises. They were beloved by all mankind, but their children were a different breed entirely.
Rich, spoiled and growing up in the Hollywood hills without their parents’ sense of duty, they grew tired of mankind’s ways and decided to murder their parents, take over the world and impose their ideas on a human race they regard as weak and stupid. Brandon Sampson, the son of the two most powerful superheroes who ever lived is their leader, a callow narcissist who always felt in his father’s shadow. But his sister Chloe refused to buckle and now leads the resistance movement against the superheroes. She and her super-villain boyfriend are recruiting all the old crooks they drove into hiding with a plan to rescue the world from the people born to save it.
Plot
Volume 3 introduces the first generation of superheroes, led by Sheldon Sampson (Utopian), who has spent over seventy years saving the planet with the help of his brother Walter. However, his children, Chloe and Brandon, didn't inherit that altruistic desire and preferred to be celebrities. Walter took advantage of this to betray Sheldon and have Brandon assassinate him. Walter and Brandon took over the White House and became cruel governors who imprisoned all the superhumans on Earth.
The sequence of how they eliminate Utopian and all his allies is shocking.
Chloe and Hutch go into hiding and have their son, Jason. Jason is raised with all of his grandfather's stories and exploits and reveals himself to the world as the new savior against the system, using his powers. He is the last hope.
In volume 4, Chloe, Hutch, and Jason begin recruiting other superhumans living in hiding to lead an attack against Walter and Brandon, including Hutch's father, Skyfox, who for years was seen as a villain thanks to Walter.
This volume includes new superhumans hunting Chloe, Hutch, and Jason, but also shows how corrupt Chloe is. It shows the fall of Walter and Brandon's tyrannical empire. The new characters Raikou and Repro are brilliant.
These two volumes close an era of the Sampson family in the present, setting the stage for a futuristic era that will reveal the origin of the powers and what the Island and Jupiter mean.

Frank Quitely's art is extremely detailed, making it rewarding to analyze each panel. He's a genius at what he does. His perspectives and designs are overwhelming, with that meticulously crafted texture that makes it hard not to be mesmerized. It is one of the best arts in the comics industry.
