Este cómic hace un crossover que une dos universos de personajes bien distintos pero geográficamente cercanos como es Mars Attacks y John Carter from Mars.
Mars Attacks, una serie de tarjetas coleccionables de 1962 de la empresa Toops, las cartas forman un arco de la historia que muestran la invasión de la Tierra por marcianos crueles y horribles con ataques violentos, fueron un hito en su época, mezclando ciencia ficción con terror.
John Carter es un personaje de ficción creado por Edgar Rice Burroughs que aparece en la serie marciana de sus novelas. Capitán durante la Guerra civil estadounidense, se hace rico al encontrar una mina de oro en Arizona al acabar la guerra. Un día se esconde de los indios Apaches en una cueva y cae en una muerte aparente, pero es transportado misteriosamente en proyección astral a Marte, donde se reencarna en una forma idéntica a sí mismo. Logra ganar el corazón de la princesa Dejah Thoris de Helium, es un héroe aparentemente inmortal.
¿De qué viene?
En Warlord of Mars Attack #1 Los Marcianos atacan con toda su flota Helium, John Carter lidera a las tropas de defensa mientras Dejah Thoris está en el palacio tratando de solventar el ataque.
Este cómic explica el origen de estos seres y lo relaciona con los Pew Mogul, enemigos jurados del reino de Helium. La batalla entre ambas civilizaciones llega a un punto crítico cuando de repente trasladan la historia hasta la tierra en nuestros días, en el momento en que llega a Marte la sonda de la NASA.
La historia se traslada a la tierra, en nuestra era en plena invasión extraterrestre, donde el bisnieto de Edgar Rice Burroughs convence a unas personas de la existencia de John Carter, claro está a punta de pistola, este trío de sobrevivientes al apocalipsis son Maven Reyes, Ramón Rodriguez y Edgar Norman, el bisnieto de Burroughs que es familia de Carter.
La historia se desarrolla en mucha tensión y suspenso, mientras este trío de personas esquivan el fulminante ataque de los Marcianos y descubren el secreto que tiene Edgar. Esta revelación puede significar la salvación de la tierra. La explicación científica de la misma es brillante, condensa cualquier cabo suelto de este universo.
Esta entrega carece del humor negro de Mars Attack, sin embargo la dupla de Parker y Kotz nos trasladan a este universo tan fértil e interesante.
Resumen
Una apasionante historia que hace de este crossover un éxito, con ficción , acción y giros en la trama, un segundo capítulo que se supera en todo.

This comic makes a crossover that unites two universes of characters very different but geographically close as is Mars Attacks and John Carter from Mars.
Mars Attacks, a series of collectible cards of 1962 of the company Toops, every card shows the invasion of the Earth by a cruel and horrible Martians with violent attacks, they were a landmark in their time, mixing science fiction with terror.
John Carter is a fictional character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, a Captain during the American Civil War, he gets rich by finding a gold mine in Arizona at the end of the war. One day he hides from Apache Indians in a cave and falls into an apparent death, but is transported mysteriously in astral projection to Mars, where he reincarnates in an identical form to himself. He manages to win the heart of Princess Dejah Thoris of Helium, he is a seemingly immortal hero.

The story unfolds in a lot of tension and suspense, while this trio dodges the fulminant attack of the Martians and discover the secret that Edgar has. This revelation can mean the salvation of the earth. The scientific explanation of it is brilliant, it condenses any loose end of this universe.
This issue lacks the black humor of Mars Attack, however the pair of Parker and Kotz transfer us to this universe so fertile and interesting with such a great tale.
