Craig Russell breathe new life into the ancient Norse stories by taking readers through the creation of the Nine Worlds to the epic origin and adventures of Thor, Odin, and Loki all the way to the end of life--Ragnarok.
What's going on?
This comic includes the story "THE MASTER BUILDER" story that places Asgard unprotected because Thor is fighting the Trolls in the eastern Nine realms.
Odin meets with his advisers and announce that they need to protect themselves from an attack in these moments where Thor cannot protect them, that the solution is to create a wall.
Out of nowhere a stranger appears to offer his services, he promises to build this wall sufficiently high and resistant in three seasons, beginning in winter, following in summer and ending in the other winter, a feat that Loki considers impossible. This "BUILDER" wants three things as payment, the first is that they give him Freyda's hand in marriage, the second the sun and the third the moon.
Odin meets again with his advisers and they agree to deny this payment, the detail is that Loki convinces them to accept the conditions but they only give him the winter season as a deadline, which surely does not end but Asgard would win a free wall , Loki always thinking of deception. Freyda is furious with the decision.
The Builder begins to work and in minutes he digs ditches, brings from the mountain giant stones that his horse SVADILFARI with incredible ease and speed. To Freyda's fear, the wall was being ready for the last day of winter.
Odin is reunited again worried about losing the Sun, the Moon and Freyda. Freyda asks Odin if he must marry this stranger to give him the satisfaction of watching Loki die slowly and painfully.
Loki as always tries to evade all responsibility and promises that he will solve this, this story ends in the next issue.
