Esta serie es multilingüe (español / inglés), de la mano de Everardo Gout (Marvel's Luke Cage, Sacred Lies, Mars, Banshee, Aquí En La Tierra) y Leopoldo Gout (Molly's Game, Instinct) quienes actuarán como co-directores y productores ejecutivos en la serie.
Trama
Esta serie de seis episodios de aproximadamente 45 minutos de duración cada uno, no se contiene en contar la historia de cómo sería la segunda llegada de Jesuscristo en 1.999 en América, en este caso en Mexico.
La historia comienza con Jodie Cristianson y sus amigos teniendo aventuras arriesgadas típica de de adolescentes de 13 años, pero un accidente hace que Jodie empiece a desarrollar poderes, que te hace pensar que esto podría ser una serie de superhéroes, pero cuando hay un giro religioso, todas sus suposiciones serán sacudidas al igual que tu fe.
Los seis capítulos se mueven en un tono de misterio y suspenso que eleva el interés por saber lo que ocurre, cuando muchos quienes rodean a Jodie tienen un secreto sobre su pasado, mientras Jodie y sus amigos quieren vivir su adolescencia e intenta aprovecharse de las circunstancias misteriosas en las que ven envueltos.
Esta serie está basada en la trilogía de novelas gráficas American Jesus de Mark Millar y Peter Gross, esta primera temporada se basa en American Jesus Book 1 The Chosen. La manera en que Leopoldo y Everardo Gout adaptaron este cómic rinde un tributo respetuoso al material original, manteniendo la historia base y la definición de los personajes, hasta logran el giro impactante de la trama que tanto ha asombrado a lectores desde 2004.

Todo se revela en el episodio seis que seguramente les pondrá la piel de gallina, donde la fe de todos está totalmente trastornada y desconoce lo que están viviendo.
Los hermanos Gout introducen elementos religiosos Católicos y de la cultura Yaqui, que le otorga una profundidad y ubican a Jodie como un nuevo Jesús de toda América.
Las actuaciones del elenco de adolescentes es genial, con especial mérito a Bobby Luhnow como Jodie y Juan Fernando González Anguamea como Tuka.
Resumen
Con misterio y suspenso, El Elegido reimagina lo que significaría el regreso de Jesucristo en el siglo XXI y las repercusiones en la fe, sin embargo nada era lo que parece.
Prepárense para una montaña rusa de emociones religiosas encontradas y sorpresas impactantes.

Plot

Everything is revealed in the final episode that will surely give you goosebumps, where everyone's faith is totally turned upside down and they don't know what they are dealing with.
The Gout brothers introduce Catholic religious elements and the Yaqui culture, which gives it depth and places Jodie as a new Jesus of all America.
The performances of the cast of teenagers are great, with special credit to Bobby Luhnow as Jodie and Juan Fernando González Anguamea as Tuka.
Summary
With mystery and suspense, The Chosen One reimagines what the return of Jesus Christ would mean in the 21st century and the repercussions for faith, yet nothing was as it seems. Prepare for a roller coaster of mixed religious emotions and shocking surprises.
