DARK HORSE VA A LANZAR “HOLLER”, UNA NOVELA GRÁFICA QUE CELEBRA EL GRUNGE Y LOS AÑOS 90

 

Dark Horse Books presenta Holler, una novela gráfica sobre la mayoría de edad escrita e ilustrada por Jeremy Massie (All My Ghosts, Amazing Age). Publicado inicialmente en cómics de un solo número de It's Alive! y Massie, Holler TPB recopilará los ocho números de la oda al grunge y los años 90. El libro también incluirá una portada nueva, una galería de portadas originales con páginas pinup adicionales y un nuevo cómic posterior de cuatro páginas.
 

SINOPSIS
Mark vive en un pequeño pueblo en los Montes Apalaches de Virginia a principios de la década de 1990. No encaja y se siente fuera de sincronía con su familia y la multitud mayoritariamente conservadora que hay allí. Por suerte para él, encuentra un escape: ¡la banda de grunge que forma con su mejor amigo, Jay! Holler issues #1 to #8—finally collected!

MILWAUKIE, Ore., (February 27, 2024)— Dark Horse Books presents Holler, a coming-of-age graphic novel written and illustrated by Jeremy Massie (All My Ghosts, Amazing Age). Initially released in single-issue comics from It’s Alive! and Massie, Holler TPB will collect all eight issues of the ode to grunge and the ‘90s. The book will also include a brand-new cover, an original issue cover gallery with bonus pinup pages, and a new four-page afterward comic.   Mark lives in a tiny town in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia in the early 1990s. He doesn’t fit in and feels out of sync with his family and the mostly conservative crowd there. Lucky for him, he finds an escape—the grunge band he forms with his best friend, Jay! As the lead guitarist in Magnesium Mama, Mark and his bandmates make their time in their hometown bearable. Between gigs, there are a lot of ups and downs, and luckily, Mark can remember most of them.   "I've gotten to a certain time in my life where I've gotten introspective maybe even sentimental about the time and place I grew up,” said Massie. “Even if the times and place weren't the greatest, I was dwelling on that period a lot. I was so hung up on it I started making comics about my band playing, teenage years. They're the type of comics I've always wanted to make. I got a lot of stories out of my system with Holler and I hope the love and fun I had while making it shows. These characters are friends of mine and some of them aren't around anymore. I hate I can't share this book with them.
