What does it come from?
THIRTY MINUTES OVER BROADWAY!
The story that set the stage for the Wild Cards universe - the tale of the Wild Card virus being released on Earth - concludes here! Jetboy, hero of World War II, finds himself back in action over New York City as a madman holds the city hostage with an alien weapon! Adapting Howard Waldrop's classic story into the comics medium for the first time!

Plot
After the New York attack, people panic as random superpowers start to develop, young Croyd Crenson comes home and passes out.

Four weeks later he wakes up as an adult with a body full of beauty and with a ravenous hunger, so he begins to search the city for some food, but only finds everything desolate. A half-dog man takes him to the army food depots and Croyd finally eats... but suddenly he falls asleep again only to wake up a week later with a different power.

The story keeps expanding and imagining a world where an outbreak of superpowers changes all of history and reality, it's a brilliant social analysis of this assumption that can draw many analogies to our present day.

Art
It is full of textures with details that achieve a vintage tone of pulp comics but at the same time with very fresh touches.

Summary
Croyd Crenson wakes up in a different world to have to learn about his new powers. Interesting chapter that introduces a great character.
