What does it come from?
The eight-time Eisner Award- winning comic book series blending fantasy and humor returns in a historical adventure blending Japanese and Western occult!
An elder member of the occult-battling pack of Wise Dogs recalls a harrowing mission-in U.S-occupied Japan after World War II, a mysterious curse creates an army of crawling, disembodied heads which threatens to overwhelm the region. Plot
The comic begins with this pack of intelligent dogs living with Arthur in a house and sharing his mysterious adventures.
Emry narrates the investigation of the OGAWARA military base in Japan occupied by the United States after World War II.
In that place Arthur and the dog Emry are going to investigate some disappearances of soldiers and that they have seen strange things, there are already two dead soldiers.
Emry analyzes the headless body of a soldier and offers Arthur his perspective of what happened, Emry recruits a dog at the base to help him. Arthur gives him the feast of tongues potion to drink that allows him to talk to any being, they call him Mullins.
Emry and Mullins talk to ghosts and discover that it is a smell that makes people faint and their head comes off with octopus legs they start to bite whatever they get.
This comic is entertaining, lighthearted, and to a certain extent very naive but still has good horror sequences.
Art
Benjamin Dewey's work is magnificent, he manages to capture different eras in history and makes us imagine dogs talking to each other.
