¿De qué viene?

¡EXPLORADORES DE MAZMORRAS! Mientras facciones globales en guerra luchan por el control de Latveria, un ataque de Hulk Rojo los atrapa a todos en las mazmorras más secretas y prohibidas de Doom. Buscando desesperadamente un camino a la superficie, descubren horrores que Doom nunca pretendió encontrar: el Ojo de Khonshu. La Hierba con Forma de Calavera. El Martillo de la Traición. Y una criatura mutante tan peligrosa que incluso Charles Xavier sabía que jamás podría ser liberada. Estos descubrimientos prohibidos engendran horrores que envenenan alianzas, contaminan cuerpos y almas, y amenazan con liberar poderes que incluso DOOM sabía que siempre debían estar ocultos.

Trama

Las mazmorras de Doctor Doom en Latveria fueron violentadas por cuatro grupos distintos, con ambiciones propias y son todos enemigos mutuos, cada uno entró por un sendero distinto ya que la entrada quedó clausurada. Esta entrega narra por separado en cuatro capítulos lo que cada uno de estos grupos están descubriendo:

CAPÍTULO I: los soldado de EE.UU comandados por el General Ross/Red Hulk descubren lo que queda de un cadáver con una especie de fuente de energía en su pecho que se desvanece en un vapor y es aspirado por uno de los soldados, quien luego tiene un brote de ira y empieza a tomar otros cuerpos hablando en idioma de runas, Red Hulk está lejos y no puede ver lo que ocurre.

CAPÍTULO II: el espía de Wakanda llamado UMBRA, busca algo que les robo Doctor Doom a Wakanda hace mucho tiempo, la hierba con forma de calavera, que permite traer a los muertos del plano Ancestral, Umbra lo mastica de manera irresponsable.

CAPÍTULO III: los soldados sobrevivientes de H.Y.D.R.A descubren el poder del SVIKSEMI, el Martillo de la Traición, cuyo poder es inmenso, pero creó una discordia letal entre ellos.

CAPÍTULO IV: los mercenarios LATVERIAN FREEDOM FIGHTERS, siguen la pista del fantasma de la hermana de Aleksander llamada Katyrema. Llega hasta una estatua de Khonshu (Moon Knight) que tiene en su mano una esfera, llamada el Ojo de Khonshu, con el cual puede ver todos los secretos de cada uno, en ese momento descubren que Aleksander asesinó a Borys, uno de ellos.

Genial historia que mezcla terror sobrenatural con el género bélico al mejor estilo de los cómics de terror de pulpa de la década de 1950-1960, con una narrativa en un ritmo dinámico e hipnotizante, que se destaca de cualquier otro cómic de Marvel en este momento.

Arte

Todo este equipo de ilustradores logran la atmósfera lúgubre y espeluznante de estas mazmorras y de los experimentos y artefactos malditos que Doom coleccionaba y analizaba para crear sus armas. 

Resumen

Cuatro grupos de soldados con objetivos distintos pero la misma ambición de obtener armas poderosas se enfrentan a terrores de otro mundo que los supera en conocimiento y preparación

What does it come from?

DUNGEON CRAWLERS! As warring global factions struggle for control of Latveria, an attack by Red Hulk traps them all together in Doom's most secret, most forbidden dungeons. Desperately searching for a path to the surface, they discover horrors Doom never intended to be found: The Eye of Khonshu. The Skull-Shaped Herb. The Hammer of Treachery. And a mutant creature so dangerous, even Charles Xavier knew it could never be set free. These forbidden discoveries breed horrors that poison alliances, pollute bodies and souls and threaten to release powers that even DOOM knew must always be hidden.

Plot

Doctor Doom's dungeons in Latveria have been breached by four distinct groups, each with their own ambitions and all mutual enemies. Each group entered through a different path, as the entrance had been sealed. This installment narrates, in four separate chapters, what each of these groups is discovering:

CHAPTER I: US soldiers commanded by General Ross/Red Hulk discover the remains of a corpse with some kind of energy source in its chest. This source dissipates into a vapor and is inhaled by one of the soldiers, who then experiences a fit of rage and begins possessing other bodies, speaking in rune language. Red Hulk is far away and cannot witness what is happening.

CHAPTER II: The Wakandan spy known as Umbra searches for something Doctor Doom stole from Wakanda long ago: the skull-shaped herb that allows the dead to be summoned from the Ancient Plane. Umbra recklessly consumes it.

CHAPTER III: The surviving H.Y.D.R.A. soldiers discover the power of the SVIKSEMI, the Hammer of Treachery, whose power is immense, but it creates deadly discord among them.

CHAPTER IV: The mercenaries LATVERIAN FREEDOM FIGHTERS follow the trail of the ghost of Aleksander's sister, Katyrema. It leads them to a statue of Khonshu (Moon Knight) who holds in his hand a sphere called the Eye of Khonshu, with which he can see everyone's secrets. At that moment, they discover that Aleksander murdered Borys, one of their own.

A brilliant story that blends supernatural horror with the war genre in the best style of pulp horror comics from the 1950s and 60s, with a dynamic and mesmerizing narrative that stands out from any other Marvel comic at the time.

Art

This entire team of illustrators perfectly captures the gloomy and eerie atmosphere of these dungeons and the cursed experiments and artifacts that Doom collected and analyzed to create his weapons.

Summary

Four groups of soldiers with different objectives but the same ambition to obtain powerful weapons face otherworldly terrors that surpass them in knowledge and preparation.
